"Dunn was an international affairs specialist in the criminal division of the Justice Department, according to a person who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss personnel matters."

I'm reading "Man who threw sandwich at law enforcement was DOJ employee, Bondi says/Police allege that the man approached law enforcement officers, including Metro Transit Police and U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers, and began yelling obscenities" (WaPo).

Unfortunately, he is more the rule than the exception, among non-gun-carrying employees of LE agencies. Especially at US DOJ: cops are prey for civil-rights actions, and the subjects of "look at this idiot" ridicule.

Dunn is honestly surprised that cops would react to offensive contact, and that Bondi would back them up against him.

Dunn is just like the AUSAs who railroaded me for shoving a robbery/fear offender five feet.

If my sacrifice means that Bondi will now enforce assault and battery statutes to the letter on guys like him, perhaps it's not in vain.

But if you would like to sign my petition for a pardon:

He had all the free speech he wanted to shout. He got mad when they walked away, not interested in listening to him. When they gave him even the slightest attention yet did not react to his rantings; he escalated to assault. And the moment after he made the assault, he ran away rather than face the consequences of his actions. Only, he couldn't run fast enough from his own consequences.

That being said I don't think he should face felony charges for assault by sandwich. Also, seems like he was drunk or on something or other. In Vino Veritas. I guess we got a look at his true self. Very cringe as the kids would say.

Twitter is reporting that there are in fact (well, were until this morning) two Sean Dunns with different middle names working at the DOJ, and that the lawyer on LinkedIn is NOT the sub-chucker. Anyone who reports that he was may well be risking a lawsuit.

Wonder how those NY lawyers who tried to throw dynamite into a police van during Antifa riots of 2020 are doing? I'd bet, just fine.

john mosby said...

Ocean: "I'm sure Mr. open shirts and shorts will find a job at a Leftwing Law firm and/or NGO. "

Mr open shirt is apparently not a lawyer. From his job title, International Affairs Specialist, he could be anything from a guy who writes policy for US LE assistance to other countries (eg Plan Colombia), to the guy who collects the travel vouchers from FBI legal attaches and other DOJ people stationed overseas. His main qualification for the job is probably his security clearance, which I'm sure Bondi has suspended.

He still might get a makework or no-show job in some lefty think tank.

BTW, I am looking for a job in a righty think tank. Any leads?

The feel-good video of the week.

The Black folks are enjoying the street theater starring a stuck-up White prick making an ass of himself.

The cops get yelled at and insulted all the time, but they have to just stand there and take it. That has to be frustrating and stressful. Until the guy hits the cop with a sandwich. Now it's assault. They even got to chase the guy for a little bit to burn off some adrenaline. That has to be very gratifying.

The jerk loses his government job, spends the night in jail, and ends up with a 1st degree misdemeanor. No jail time, but he gets the point.

Achilles said...

That being said I don't think he should face felony charges for assault by sandwich.

Society only functions when incompatible behavior is suppressed. Those officers showed incredible restraint. They should get a bonus for that.

We cannot ask people to enforce our laws and tell them they have to endure this type of abuse. If we force officers to deal with garbage like this we will not have a society for long. Social order will quickly break down and nobody would do that job.

He needs to spend years in jail. Any poor person would get years for what he did. More than that this is a Government prosecutor. He helped charge people for battery, assault, resisting arrest, obstruction of justice.

We can't have people acting like this man walking free and thinking this is OK no matter how rich and white he is.
