Yeah, I'm tired of it too. Of that and a few other things.

Patience, grasshopper.
The reason there won’t be prosecutions is because the government will lose and the case will probably be dismissed before any trial. If you have the power use it or be quiet. Treason says the DNI? Ok Bondi, do your job. Can’t wait to see the indictment
Phantom justice by one party. Handmade tales by the other.
Not arousing any interest until a special prosecutor is appointed. I don't think 'X' is where the case should be presented, either. Work it quietly, behind the scenes, and make the media beg for briefings.

I can't share your optimism, and if I had to guess a significant majority of Americans feel the same way. Not many actually believe anything will come from this, and that cynicism is rooted in experience and history.
"I’m tired of it. Go arrest these people and bring them to justice."
Yeah, that will happen when that hot place freezes over.
Wake me up for perp walks.
Don't care about "releases report."
"Treason says the DNI? Ok Bondi, do your job."
Oh no, no, no, no, no ... President Trump needs to do his job. Treason against the federal government is a MILITARY ACTION by enemy combatants. Dark site these people and announce their deaths after the wet work is done.

I disagree. The typical pattern is exactly what Matt Walsh suggests. That has never worked. Trump’s pattern is to throw truth at people till they believe it. Full speed ahead Tulsi.
I don't know why anybody on the left would even care about these claims. If they haven't done anything wrong, there's nothing to be afraid of. Right?

I am not optimistic. I am very pessimistic. But that doesn't change the fact that the opportunity to address has only recently become available. You have to wait for them to fail before you can condemn them for the failure.

Sounds too absurd to be believable, but, incredibly, I have no doubt there are people who believe it.

Good choice. America needs people who are reliable judges, prosecutors, and representatives of our nation and Constitution, serving the People and our Posterity.
I’m not optimistic a criminal prosecution would work given the burden of proof and pardons the autopen sent out. However, a civil defamation lawsuit by Trump and possibly others would be interesting. The actors couldn’t avoid testifying using the Fifth due to the pardons and the burden of proof is significantly lower.
I got really tired of the caterwauling about Nixon and Watergate. If Gerry Ford hadn't pardoned NIxon, there would have been a truly awful series of partisan vendettas--much worse than the Clinton-Trump tit-for-tat. Yeah, the Obama team were a bunch of rats--it's what you would expect with a third-rate law professor at the top and a bunch of swivel-eyed Demmie partisans infesting the permanent government.
The most important word in the political lexicon is "no". It is not used enough.
It’s reassuring we can return to criticism of adults in charge rather than have to breathlessly blog about every Democrat slime move without commentary for four years…
Exactly. Enough of these 'explosive' documents. Do something about it or shut up.
I would be pleasantly surprised if there were arrests and perp walks. I'm not holding my breath, though.

I think this is a good attempt at humor.
If it is it was very well delivered.
Was the Epstein letter a way to distract from this? Given the provenance of the 22 year old nothingburger, I'd say yes. A WSJ reporter whose prior experience was limited to Main Justice? Main Justice, which was run by the wife of Glenn Simpson of Fusion GPS?

I believe the strat here is to start at the bottom and work your way up.
If you arrest lots of the little people and convict them there wont be any left to nullify juries.
Also shop for a judge who will change venues.
It takes a LONG time to put together a case of this nature. Potentially hundreds (thousands?) of witnesses have to tracked down, statements taken, untold reams of paperwork, online documents, and texts gone through and organized for later use, witness and production subpoenas prepared, potential legal theories and strategy for both sides thoroughly examined and prepped, et cetera.
I'm willing to be patient. Get it right and do it right.
BTW, if you want to guess what Federal charges may avail themselves, and against whom, start with the jury instructions for each potential offrense.
I thought only defendants can ask for a change of venue.
yes Nixon was small beer to what came afterwards large scale bribery and skullduggery re the Clintons and the Obamas largely about China, Ken Starr wasn't ruthless enough and he ran into a lot of interference with James McDougal, perhaps the whole Lewinsky subplot was overdone then again we see how far along they took the
stupid Stormy Daniels business,
It's possible they may obtain a FLA venue because they searched Mar-A-Lago as a part of this conspiracy.
Sorry. Meant to say garner an FLA venue.

Notice how she never once says anything about arresting, prosecuting, and bringing to justice the thousands of VIP predators (both Democrats and Republicans) on the Epstein list who sexually abused minors. Because that doesn't matter, I guess.
Barack Obama was a helluva drug.
Yeah, these stories have become very tiresome. I think I stopped obsessing over most of them after the TEA Party/IRS/Lois Lerner incident when John Boehner (remember him?) held a press conference and proclaimed, "I don't wanna know who's going to lose their job, I wanna know who's going to jail!!!"
How'd that turn out?
lonejustice asserted with certainty: “ thousands of VIP predators”. Source please or shut up.
@Earnest Prole, that ruling merely codified the generally common presumption that a President is immune from criminal prosecution for official acts. I don't know if I'd want to be the lawyer that had to argue ordering the investigation of a political opponent when all previous intelligence indicated no unusual information operations or direct attacks on voting infrastructure factored in his election was an 'official act.'
Don't worry. Supposed Trump connections to Epstein will continue to dribble out in the media for a long time to come.

***Fake Account Alert***
Obama seems untouchable, but if he gets away with ordering this, while his peeps get prosecuted, they won’t be too happy with him. It might cost him some cash. People that should be indicted, to me, are Rice, Comey, Clapper, Brennan, McCabe, Yates, Rosenstein, Weisman, McCord, Monaco, McDonough, to start…. This was more than a political dirty trick. Is there a “RICO” for this sort of thing?
Remember when everyone was upset that Trump, standing beside Putin, said he believed Putin when Putin said he did not do what had been alleged? Media had a field day.
“I don't know why anybody on the left would even care about these claims. If they haven't done anything wrong, there's nothing to be afraid of. Right?”
Right.
Trump will let it go when the Epstein stuff (or something else) either dies down or it destroys him and he’s gone. And there is a lot of stuff in his past. There will be one distraction after another until Trump cultists act like good boys and gals again. All the posturing as the big tough guy and then backing down when the legal realities hit him won’t continue to sit well with his base either. “Fool them once, well you can’t be fooled again”, right? Well, Trump and his MAGA supporters said they had the list, and tens of thousands of videos of the child sexual predators, and they promised to release all of the names on the list during their campaign, and all of the videos, because they were going to be transparent, unlike the Biden administration. But as soon as Trump was elected, then all of a sudden there was no list, and no videos. The one and only reason that Trump won't release the names on the list, and the videos, is because he knows who is on the list. Since Trump is the source, and he refuses to release the source, then of course we will never see any of this, despite what he promised. I am not saying that Trump and his supporters are necessarily on the list, but when you refuse to release the list and videos, despite your campaign promises to release them, then it is not unreasonable to conclude that you have something to hide.
"If you arrest lots of the little people and convict them there wont be any left to nullify juries."

He was and is a Chicago politician despite his patrician mien and sonorous bloviations and it's worth pointing out the Bondo on his halo.
Treason has a range of meanings, deliberately against the interests of the country being a narrow and probably essential one, but collaboration with an enemy of the country is not implied in everyday use. It might be any old private interest that's favored, up to just normal corruption.

when you refuse to release the list and videos, despite your campaign promises to release them, then it is not unreasonable to conclude that you have something to hide.
Well, obviously!
The rub is, what and why? Because if the answer to "what" is "people or events the revelation of which would put at risk an ongoing operation" and to "why" is "national security," then ya got nothin'.
If, instead, "what" is "powerful people on all sides" and "why" is "electoral politics," then that's reprehensible but also business as usual.
If, as several herein seem to want to believe, "what" is "Trump! With an underage girl, doing unspeakable things!" and "why" is "to protect himself from criminal prosecution! (If the girl was in fact underage where the unspeakable things were visited upon her)" then you've got yourself a Clintonesque scenario on steroids, and while Trump might not go to prison because of my parenthetical, he'd certainly be toast as president.
But I'll say it again: you're Demon Trump, Child Rapist. You spent four years being undermined and lawfared to within an inch of your administration's life, then four more years being sued, indicted, and preparing for your comeback tour. Why in God's name would you surround yourself with people who have sworn to release the files that expose you?
SpaceCityGirl the alleged Trump birthday letter to Epstein is simply a tool to distract the country from Gabbard’s allegations.
If that's his only response, then it just confirms my opinion of Matt Walsh. He's a moron.
Your reaction to the Tulsi's disclosure's should be one of outrage. And not "tone-policing" her because she used the word "treason". Go look up the constitution, it has the definition right there. And Obama didn't commit "treason".
And so what? People on the Center-right can't exaggerate? Can't use hyperbole? Guess not, says the "Tone police". Just the facts ma'me, just the facts. No, colorful language for us, says the Rightwing.
SInce "Treason" is out of the way, what other crime could Obama and Comey, brennan, etc. be guilty of? I dunno. There's the statue of limitations, there's all the legal blahblah that comes in to play.
So its perfectly possible that there is no crime that be prosecuted. So, according to Walsh we should therefore just skip over the lies, the deceit, and the outgoing POTUS conspiring with US intelligence heads to destroy the incoming POTUS with a bald faced lie.
Because you either get charged or its "No harm no foul".
When the hell has the Left ever operated like this. They let anyone forget for a second Nixon was driven for office and was a crook. And they kept it up for 19 years, till he died. They even brought it up during his fucking funeral.
The Left didn't give up when they couldn't charge Nixon in court.
Let’s not lose sight who was in possession of the Epstein files for 4 years while Trump was on Sabbatical. Think there is a teensy weensy chance they were doctored? If Trump wasn’t in there, you can bet he is now.
Just how dumb does he think his base is, throwing out a shiny object to distract from his pedophilia?
That will never work, MAGAts are waaaaaay to savvy to fall for that kind of bush league sham.
After due consideration, fuck Matt Walsh and his petulant and ill- considered opinion. The facts AIST are:
The opposition has a state-within-a-state and so a monopoly on the legal system in the major east coast metropolises where any case would be brought.
Also the legal profession, the bureaucracy, and the media are all firmly controlled by the opposition and they would all informally coordinate a defense.
And finally, these SWAS areas have a population that the juries would come from and as we saw with Special Prosecutor Durham, the Trump Show Trials, among other examples, those juries decide verdicts along party lines more often than not.
So given those conditions and impediments what the fuck does Matt Walsh want our side to do exactly? Smears and mud throwing is about all they can do. To paraphrase Hillare Belloc the reason they always win is bc “Whatever happens, we [they] have got the Maxim gun, [media, legal, and a supportive population] and they [our side] have not.” And I say again fuck Matt Walsh.
(The Maxim gun was one of the first machine guns and was used against natives with spears.)
Excellent point by Walsh. The infestation of rabid pansy-socialists throughout the institutions - including the courts - does not help.
“You remind me of slick Newsom … you do the dance, but don’t answer the question.”
That’s not a dance, that’s mincing. It’s what they do when they’re not blowing Duroc hogs.
Looking at you, T.B. Hag.
Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard revealed overwhelming evidence that demonstrates how, after President Trump won the 2016 election against Hillary Clinton, President Obama and his national security cabinet members manufactured and politicized intelligence to lay the groundwork for what was essentially a years-long coup against President Trump.
This is the clearest article I've read on this issue. The Intelligence Community's assessment for the months leading up to the 2016 election was that the Russians were not trying to influence the election. After Trump won, the Obama White House said, 'nope, don't like that conclusion, bring me another one'. So they did. They used manufactured intelligence, most especially the Steele Dossier, which they knew from the start to be a dirty tricks operation of the Clinton campaign, to charge Trump with collusion with Russia, hamstringing his administration for years. It was an attempted coup.

Dershowitz says “Epstein never worked for any intelligence agency”. This is most probably true. Very skillfully chosen words. Did he assist any intelligence agency? Did he funnel any money to anyone on behalf of any agency? Also, no Epstein wouldn’t tell Dershowitz of his associations with any intelligence agency.
Gabbard's tweets and evidence doesn't tell me anything that I didn't already know but the evidence makes it all basically undeniable in any honest fashion. The missing piece of evidence all along was that December meeting where the PDB was first embargoed and then replaced by a completely different intelligence analysis- all at the order of Barack Obama. In short, the original PDB wasn't going to show what Obama demanded it show and so his underlings wrote another one. I always knew that it had to be Obama behind it all and Susan Rices self-serving letter posted minutes after the Obama Administration officially ended was a tell- that was also done at the order of Obama to provide his and her official get out jail free card- in other words it was a bad lie.
Our Constitution deliberately make it difficult to bring a charge of treason against any individual. Nevertheless I think it is important to use the judicial system to make the wrongdoing as obvious to all willing to look and as publicly known as possible. Ergo, the miscreants need to be charged with something.
I recall when the Durham report was supposed to send hoards of Democrats to GTMO.
@narciso 6:25 PM - Thanks for that good link.
"Right after the elections, then-DNI James Clapper authored a report that concluded, “We have no evidence of cyber manipulation of election infrastructure intended to alter results.” On December 8th, 2016, IC analysts prepared a brief for then-President Obama that would have reported that Russia “did not impact recent U.S. election results.”
But before it was published, that report was pulled. The next day, December 9th, Clapper, FBI Director James Comey, and CIA Director John Brennan met with President Obama at the White House. “Obama directed the IC to create a new intelligence assessment that detailed Russian election meddling,” Tulsi said, “even though it would contradict multiple intelligence assessments released over the previous several months.”
A series of high-profile leaks to the Washington Post, NBC, and others, immediately followed, all sourced to “anonymous” intelligence officials. The WaPo reported, “This presidential campaign marks the first time Russia has attempted through cyber means to interfere in, if not actively influence, the outcome of an election, the officials said.” Similarly, NBC ran with, “U.S. intelligence officials now believe with a high level of confidence that Russian President Vladimir Putin became personally involved in the covert Russian campaign to interfere in the U.S. presidential election, senior U.S. intelligence officials told NBC News.”
An other piece to this diabolical set of behaviors - the persecution of Michael Flynn - slides into place. He was savvy to the ways of the IC, and was at risk of figuring out what had happened with the intelligence assessments. He had to be prevented from finding out. They really had it in for Donald Trump - not a club member. Ironic, isn't it? The first black President poisoning the well to make sure an outsider can't have success, and doing it because he can't just outright deny entry.
I don't expect the DoJ to do anything about this since the jurisdiction is going to be D.C. where a jury will never convict any of these cretinous liar no matter how much evidence you have of their guilt. A useful governmental reform would be this- if you work for the federal government and commit a crime in office, the trial takes place in Oklahoma City, not D.C.-or, maybe better, the jury pool isn't D.C. but is, instead, the entire country.
"In short, the original PDB wasn't going to show what Obama demanded it show and so his underlings wrote another one."
Manufactured intelligence.

"Dershowitz says “Epstein never worked for any intelligence agency”. This is most probably true."
Typical lawyer bullshit. I'm sure the Mossad never had Epstein as an employee getting a pay check every 2 weeks. That's what "worked for" means. Epstein was a zillionaire. Why would he need a paycheck from the Mossad?
Epstein had the Israeli PM Live in his mansion every time the Israeli PM came to NYC. He met constantly with Israeli officials. Why wouldn't he just help the Mossad because he was a Zionist Jew?
Putting him in jail would be great, but at this point we will settle for public humiliation and perjury charges.
If you read the Trump immunity ruling you’ll realize how badly you’re being played. Courts and the Justice Department are essentially enjoined from probing the lawfulness of presidential action. Congress may perform whatever investigation it can muster, but as we all saw from its January 6 probe, that’s a joke.
RCCola - "Epstein had the Israeli PM Live in his mansion every time the Israeli PM came to NYC. He met constantly with Israeli officials. "
Got some proof of that?
Courts and the Justice Department are essentially enjoined from probing the lawfulness of presidential action.
It will be great to test this while Republicans run the Executive Branch. If you are right, and gee you always seem to think you are; then Trump and Vance will be free to wiretap their political opponents as Presidential action. Nixon will be vindicated.
Yes Matt, please, let's overplay our hand and give control of Congress back to the Democrats in 18 months..

Annoying that these arguments always seem to take place in some alternative universe where statutes of limitations don't exist.
Reported in the Times of Israel:
According to the WSJ’s Wednesday report on the [Epstein’s] calendar’s contents, Barak visited Epstein about 30 times between 2013 and 2017 at his estates in Florida and New York, including a time in 2014 when the former Israeli premier flew with Epstein on his private aircraft from Palm Beach to Tampa, after which Epstein went on to New York. Barak said his wife and an Israeli security guard were also on that flight. He said he flew with Epstein on his private planes on one other occasion, also with his wife and guards.
"Annoying that these arguments always seem to take place in some alternative universe where statutes of limitations don't exist."
You've not read the potential ways around that?

Barak has confirmed visiting Epstein's home but has denied attending any sex parties there, according to The Times of Israel. He has stated that their conversations revolved around politics and other topics.
Can someone justify why Obama is above the law? Not why commenters are fearful, but why, if Obama has committed crimes, he should not be subject to lawful proceedings.
Democrat Party members were relentless in their unjust persecution of Donald Trump.
Republican Party members are clamoring to leave Obama alone before this justified and very necessary investigation has even begun.
GOP can always be counted on to wave the white flag when they have the enemy cornered.
"Democrat Party members were relentless in their unjust persecution of Donald Trump."
Yeah, how'd that work out for them?
The proper forum for bring Obama to trial is an impeachment. Of course, you couldn't even get this in a Republican controlled House and even if you did the Senate would never convict. Also, the only penalty you could levy in a conviction is barring him from ever serving again in the U.S. government but he wasn't going to do that anyway.
As for Obama's accomplices, I would suggest the DoJ sue them for fraud in civil court.

But we know what Tulsi knows. She published it!
https://www.coffeeandcovid.com/p/potboiler-saturday-july-19-2025-c
"Here’s a list of all the records Tulsi just shattered, in a single Twitter thread and 124 pages of declassified documents. And this list is only what I could think of as of this morning:
1. First sitting Director of National Intelligence to publicly accuse former intelligence leaders of a treasonous conspiracy (or any crime).
2. First time a DNI declassified internal IC assessments, memos, and emails during an active DOJ referral.
3. First full publication of an aborted Presidential Daily Brief (PDB) draft that contradicted an official narrative.
4. First evidence-based accusation that the 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) was politicized by presidential directive.
5. First direct public attribution of intelligence manipulation to a sitting president —Barack Obama— by name, not just implication.
6. First official public confirmation that the Steele Dossier was used in the 2017 ICA, despite internal dissent and known credibility issues.
7. First use of a Twitter thread as an official vehicle for declassifying national intelligence—turning social media into a disclosure mechanism.
8. First coordinated public release of IC whistleblower complaints, dissenting analyst emails, and interagency meeting notes in a single drop.
9. First breach of the classified means credible doctrine— by showing how classification was weaponized to create false public certainty. This one has many legs.
10. First dismantling of the we can’t comment on ongoing investigations playbook by someone inside the intel chain of command.
11. First time the post-Trump impeachment “insurrection” narrative has been turned against the intelligence agencies that constructed it.
12. First voluntary public declassification of internal IC meeting notes confirming political coordination of IC messaging— without subpoenas and before the usual years of Congressional hearings and wrangling."
"Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort."
They put that in there for a reason. They had seen what mischief could be done with the charge of "treason". I'm all for Gabbard's revelations, but charging "treason" is reckless and sloppy.
Reckless and sloppy..that totally tracks. Kind of like when Donald Trump flew multiple times on his good friend’s Jeff Epstein’s jet to rape 12 year old girls on a private island?

Putting him in jail would be great, but at this point we will settle for public humiliation and perjury charges.
If you read the Trump immunity ruling you’ll realize how badly you’re being played. Courts and the Justice Department are essentially enjoined from probing the lawfulness of presidential action. Congress may perform whatever investigation it can muster, but as we all saw from its January 6 probe, that’s a joke.
I look forward to Obama being forced to claim presidential immunity protects his ability to spy on political opponents and direct the FBI to open an investigation based on knowingly false information.
That will make Roberts shit his pants.
I hope the courts side with Obama on that and do in all authority they think they have.
Can someone justify why Obama is above the law? Not why commenters are fearful, but why, if Obama has committed crimes, he should not be subject to lawful proceedings.
I’m going out on a limb to say you’re a person who was overjoyed by the Trump immunity ruling but didn’t bother to read it or understand it would apply equally to Democrats.

So working with a known Russian spy to build a frame job case on the person who just won the presidential election for "colluding with Russians to steal the election" doesn't meet your definition of treason?
Curious what you actually think would be treason.

The key there is "Official Acts."
I want Obama to have to claim that working with a Russian Spy to build a false case against the President Elect was an official act and I want him to say that to John Roberts face.
And I want John Roberts to side with Obama.
“Ok, ok. I’m sorry. I stand corrected.”
If T.B.Hag actually stood, after decades of on shim’s knees teabaggin’, it would be one of those miracles!
Regarding treason and adhering to enemies, it’s worth noting that enemies can be foreign or domestic.
I know we all think that the reason the left went lawfare nuts on Trump is that they wanted to keep him from winning again in 2024. And for most, I'm sure it was true. But what if others encouraged the lawfare because it effectively shielded them from prosecution when their unlawful acts were known? Arresting Obama doesn't feel serious, (even if it is!) because they arrested Trump first. I'm not sure how to reset.
"I want Obama to have to claim that working with a Russian Spy to build a false case against the President Elect was an official act and I want him to say that to John Roberts face."
OK, that changed my mind. Prosecute the bastard.
An additional benefit to having Obama have to argue that is so that Bich, Gadfly, and Ballsucker have to defend it after spending all of the last 2 years arguing against it.

"Democrat Party members were relentless in their unjust persecution of Donald Trump."
Yeah, how'd that work out for them?

Once again, the prosecution of Donald Trump by Democrat Party members was unjust. They made up crimes and rewrote statutes and ran for office just to Get Trump. The American people recognized that and disapproved. Unlike Trump, Obama is guilty. Not only guilty, but guilty of the worst abuse of presidential power in the 20th century. What they did to Trump dwarfs the Watergate scandal, but Republicans don't want to touch it. The American people want the truth, but YOU can't handle the truth.
“What they did to Trump dwarfs the watergate scandal.”
MAGAt fever dreams aside, you know what actually dwarfs watergate?
A sitting president who has raped young girls and a GOP base that endorses or ignores it.
I see Ballsucker is just gone completely nuts.
As a bonus... next time the Democrats want to engage in this sort of nonsense, it might be somewhat harder for them to get their little shitweasel prog bureaucrat pets to go along with them if they thought there might actually be consequences.
That's the most important part, and it has a small chance of happening, unlike the big wigs going to jail or losing a night's sleep. If nothing else, run up their lawyer fees.
Shim’s a peach!
The key there is “Official Acts.”
“In dividing official from unofficial conduct, courts may not inquire into the President's motives. Nor may courts deem an action unofficial merely because it allegedly violates a generally applicable law.”
Reading is hard.
"Curious what you actually think would be treason."
Sorry, I thought I made that clear.
"Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort."
Now, I don't guess you are suggesting that Brennan levied war against the United States. So, you are going to need to define these "Enemies", that he adhered to. Or, aided and comforted.
Look. It is very easy for those who happen to be in control of the government, to argue that anyone who opposes them, opposes the government. The founders were well aware of this propensity, and they meant to cut it off at the root.
So, listen; it is certainly some form of corruption, to use the powers of the government against one's political opponents. But it is not treason.
Trump must have a Haiku to address this. Matt could do a little banjo punctuation.

I read just fine.

Trump was the president elect. Then when he was the President.
They continued to follow the plan while they were not even employed by those agencies.
Are you trying to argue that they were always the real government even after Trump was elected?
enemies can be foreign or domestic
Yeah, that's the civil war. We don't have that. I think "treason" is one of those words that is important in war-time. But when we're at peace and not in a war with anybody, "treason" is a bullshit word. You need to distinguish between rhetoric ("you're a traitor!" or "you're a Commie" or "you're Hitler") and actual treason. All I'm hearing is hatred for Dems, and it sounds very much like their hatred of us.
I don't expect the DoJ to do anything about this since the jurisdiction is going to be D.C.
Not if it's a conspiracy, and you appoint a special prosecutor. You might be able to bring the action in Florida, for instance, since the president's home was raided there.
“Trump must have a Haiku to address this. Matt could do a little banjo punctuation.”
tulsi got the goods
barack has a purdy mouth
this I can tell you
If you go after Obama, we will lose the mid-terms, and Congress. And Trump's second term is on autopilot from there.
I'd like to win the mid-terms, and get four years of Trump 2.
The Democrats are shooting themselves in the foot on a daily basis. People hate them now. Their brand is in the toilet, thanks to Biden.
You are just too stupid to understand what I want to happen and why I want it to happen.

If you actually want to get to the truth, pardons are a great way to do that. Pardon Obama and require him to testify. Just be prepared to lose in 2026 or 2028.

Problem was...Bill Clinton is a Democrat.
You could impeach Obama even though he's out of office, as was done to Trump.
This will spark riots.
Unlike 2020, though, Trump has people in place who will follow his orders. And even the blue city mayors are tired of rioting.
So the riots will be put down. Hard. And the riot funding will be investigated, and the riot funders jailed.
Do this all during the 2026 election season, and you'll have an R landslide that will make Reagan and Nixon's landslides look like a kid kicking over a playground sandcastle.
Win-win-win-win.

“Win-win-win-win”
That might be too much winning. What if we get tired of winning?
“In dividing official from unofficial conduct, courts may not inquire into the President's motives. Nor may courts deem an action unofficial merely because it allegedly violates a generally applicable law.”
I get where you seem to think people are always talking about Obama's motive in this because you have a fixation on finding unsavory motives for Trump's conduct. I don't think it's necessary to go there, however.
A investigation can't be spun out of whole cloth. Some kind of reasonable suspicion is required to trigger one. What kind of reasonable suspicion did Obama, Comey, and Brennan have to investigate Russian involvement in Trump's election? Obama's own intelligence chief, Clapper, was going to tell them point-blank there was no evidence vote totals had been manipulated by the Russians. While it maybe somewhat unsavory to think Russian propaganda could influence American votes, there is no way to determine if those votes had been in any way decisive, nor had any intelligence ever indicated prior to December 2016 that there was anything unusual about Russian attempts to influence the election.
I suspect there maybe statutes that require the FBI to hold to this standard, and they should certainly apply to the chief law enforcement officer as well. Even if there aren't, it would be an interesting argument to see play out, and watching the Democrats claim a President has unlimited power to order the investigation of election results is going to be sweet (and since history begins a fresh each morning for them, I have no doubt they would)
Christopher B, I was working on a comment going in the same direction as yours at 6:14am but set it aside to make coffee and unload the dishwasher and such and it went away. So I'm very glad to read yours!
Like you, I was going to point out that you don't have to examine Obama's motives in order to evaluate his actions and their results. And, since the SCOTUS opinion uses the word "merely" in discussing the lawfulness of a presidential action, I'd interpret it to mean that you can't rely solely on the action's lawfulness but can indeed consider it among other factors (precedent comes to mind) in evaluating whether a president's action was an official act.
So, although I agree with Saint Croix that attempting to prosecute Obama is likely to have more downside than upside, maybe a lot more, I also don't think it would be as heavy a lift as Prole appears to believe.

Poor deflection.
In order to defeat evil you first have to fight it is the actual position I take.
I like Greenwald. But he is a lefty and he hates Israel.
This is why the RICO statute exists. Use it.

“Not if it's a conspiracy, and you appoint a special prosecutor. You might be able to bring the action in Florida, for instance, since the president's home was raided there.”
Name the USA for (I believe) the SDFL as a special counsel. Judge Cannon’s District.
The Bondi DOJ faces several obstacles in this. The ones that I see are
1. DC jury pool won’t convict prominent Dems
2. Statute of imitations has run on a number of prominent perps.
3. Obama is exempt from prosecution for official acts while President.
4. Many of the top perps ostensibly have Autopen pardons.
So, here is how I would structure things.
For Obama, investigate whether he had any contact with the other perps after leaving office. I suspect that he did, indirectly. But not directly. Probably best to leave him as an unindicted coconspirator.
Then tie Smith’s FL Documents case to RussiaGate. The major tie is through the DOJ’s Counterintelligence and Export Control (EEC) section and the FBI’s Counterintelligence Division (CD). They ran both of them. They were why Deputy Special Counsel Jay Bratt (and CEC branch chief) ran the primary grand jury out of DC. That’s where they all worked. They just flew down to FL to run the MAL raid and to run the evidence from the DC Grand jury by the FL grand jury. The same two organizations ran both Crossfire Hurricane and the FL documents case. And it has long been suspected that the real reason for the MAL raid 2as to reacquire the documents, disclosing their perfidy, that Trump formally ordered declassified his last full day in office. Needless to say, any proof of that, including the disappearance of those documents, would be a smoking gun, and provide evidence of a number of felonies for the CEC and CD people involved. Then follow them back to DC, and expand the investigation to cover more of the perps.
“This is why the RICO statute exists. Use it.”
RICO requires predicate offenses. In these cases, their are a bunch of them possible, including Obstruction of Justice, Lying to federal officials, perjury, derivation of civil rights under color of law, etc.
I trust Taibbi. For whatthat's worth, but I do politics, and not his politics.
If there's "probable cause" to claim there's a conspiracy, that should be enough to get an arrest warrant. Go find a judge and get it done. Arrest them all.
"Are you trying to argue that they were always the real government even after Trump was elected?"
No, I am trying to argue that sabotaging the administration of an incoming President may well be criminal, but it does not fit the definition of "treason" contained in the Constitution. And that definition is explicitly exclusive; "Treason against the United States, shall consist only ..."
