Every day I have to take a couple of prescription pills for high blood pressure and cholesterol. I'm 72. Low dosages, nothing to be too worried about. But for the first time today I actually read the directions. Take one pill daily "by mouth." So I'm thinking to myself, how many other ways than "by mouth" would someone take these pills? I find it a bit disturbing that the drug companies feel they need to include this specific direction.

As one of the 5% of people over 65 who never had any covid shots, I've been waiting for numbers to come up to show prediction I made- that by the time I hit 75 there'll be a lot fewer 75 year olds then there are now. And the signal appears to have shown up.

Using data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), NBER—a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization—found that excess deaths among individuals aged 25 and older between 2020 and 2023 led to a reduction in Social Security future retirement payments of $294 billion.
Excess deaths refers to those in a given time frame over the number that might have been expected considering historic data in a so-called average year. According to the CDC, the U.S. reported over 1.7 million excess deaths between 2020 and 2023.
The reduction in future Social Security benefits caused by these excess deaths was then recalculated by NBER to $205 billion considering the consequent decrease in future payroll tax flows and higher payments to surviving spouses and children.
"Our analysis suggests a slight improvement in Social Security's financial health due to excess deaths, driven primarily by the premature death of people who would have received retirement benefits," reads the NBER report.
"Offsetting effects, such as the increase in survivors' insurance beneficiaries, are relatively small by comparison."
While the Social Security program is technically saving more money on benefits than it is losing in tax revenues, NBER said that "these public fiscal benefits are extremely modest compared to the broader costs generated by the COVID-19 pandemic."

SS is easy to fix. Just raise the retirement age for benefits until the number of workers is sufficient to support the number of retirees, increasing the former and decreasing the latter as the age goes up. There's always a balance point. Put it there.
They started doing this years ago by raising the full benefits age from 65 to 67.
As longevity goes up, it doesn't mean that everybody gets a longer free vacation. It means they have to work longer to pay for it, a balance.
The point of SS is insurance against outliving your savings.
Everybody can save for a normal lifespan of retirement, but few can save for the longest possible lifespan of retirement. SS is insurance against the latter, with the insurance aspect covering exactly that risk.

It's more or less 50 years to the minute from when I moved to central Ohio from NJ, having been given the choice of Naperville IL or Columbus OH, counting from checking in to the Holiday Inn. Every one of them- and you- has access to all the same information I did. The Diamond Princess and the USS Theodore Roosevelt debacle told us right off the bat that public health authorities were lying about how dangerous covid was. And many people- including my wife- had covid before it was "officially" in the US. She had all the symptoms including the loss of smell and taste- which despite the "authorities" saying otherwise, is not a common symptom of flu. But was for the first iteration of covid. Testing of stored blood samples indicate it was in the USA more then 6 months before it was "officially" here. TBH, I'm surprised they allowed testing of the stored samples. They had another way to test- that was suggested- and could have been done. Submarine crews returning from spec-op or SSBN deterrent patrols- 72 days (or more) underwater out of touch with everyone else. After 2 weeks or so, no more URIs until return to port, when everyone gets sick. All personnel could have been tested for covid antibodies upon RTP- and none were.
There were a lot of people who were correct in their assessment of covid and the shots. A lot in my age group I know were skeptical- but were psychologically unable to resist the propaganda and pressure to get the vaccination that wasn't.
I did not predict all the problems that would arise from the shot. There were many doctors who did that. I simply predicted it wouldn't work. No mRNA injections for any reason had ever worked before, and no attempt at making a coronavirus vaccine had ever been successful, with some in animals making it worse. Two readily available facts. Take two things that have never worked, put them together, and announce "This Is The Greatest Thing Since Sliced Bread!" With no long duration testing. Nope, didn't buy it. And, as it turns out, the vaccine makers lied about the vaccine injuries they saw, saying they saw none.
Information being readily available to anyone is something entirely new. Not the AI BS, since apparently AI is being trained to lie to us. But the stuff you can look up and read. How long before that gets corrupted is another question. But right now you can look up Vitamin D studies and see that all of them show vitamin D optimal levels are about 50 ng/ml. The government says >20. And - recommends don't test to see- when that's the only way to know...

Things wouldn't have gone this far and the reversal wouldn't be so sudden and so complete if Trump were a name on Epstein's "list" (real or conjectural). Bondi wouldn't have said that the list was on her desk and wouldn't have to do so drastic a u-turn now. We can speculate about what was really going on, but maybe not out loud.

I suspect you are largely correct. I've also observed that the Blogger check for an ending html tag appears to only look for a / in the brackets so it will accept a tag missing the appropriate letter to indicate which format to end, causing the same result when processed in a browser.
