Just what we need: an oiled-up, glowering comedian.

From the link:
Baron Cohen says his workout regime with the celebrity trainer Alfonso Moretti stops his mind spinning. “Instead of lying in bed overthinking and staring at my phone, I get up, jump on FaceTime and train with Alfonso. It sets a positive tone for the whole day.”...
We all confront mortality, invisibility, loss of sexual appeal and having to use reading glasses in dark restaurants: the task is to work out the most constructive way to deal with all that....

He's "positive" and "constructive" and looking at us angrily. I'm sad to see he got divorced!

Dudes named Sacha need to over-compensate.

Isn’t bodybuilding and going to the gym some kind of white supremely or toxic masculinity or something…

RideSpaceMountain ayon kay ...

Nothing says masculinity like a oily shirtless glow-up in a dying medium. Real men get their fitness tips from exrx.net, not the personal training equivalent of the gutenberg bible.

I get that the left is trying to do manliness, but this still just feels forced.

I appreciate a good looking man just like any hot blooded female in heat - but too much muscle isn't appealing to me. It isn't real or sustainable. + The only way to keep that extreme muscle tone, is to live at the gym.... which removes time from my need to have you in the kitchen - making me a sammich.

Totally wrong demo choice. To appeal to today's young male audience they needed to put an oiled up twinkfluencer like Harry Sisson on that cover.

rehajm ayon kay ...

…surprisingly honest but yah, when celebrity divorce you get a team and get buff and the obligatory magazine cover to troll for the available ladies outside your orbit since she took most of the ones inside…

Scott Patton ayon kay ...

His shtick always seemed like the behavior of a bully. However, Candid Camera seemed like good-natured fun.
Anyway, 80% of that look is metabolism, diet, and or drugs/supplements. Grok says nothing unexpected. High Protein and fiber, low carbs, no sugar.
People that can hop out of bed and work out are fascinating. It's inconceivable.

Curious George ayon kay ...

He divorced Isla Fisher. Fool.

Aggie ayon kay ...

The only thing real about this twerp is that everything you see is always going to be his next shtick. Getting you to think it's genuine, while he makes a fool of you, is at the bottom of it.

Peachy ayon kay ...

yeah - This guy is yet another phenomenon I do not understand. never found the humor.

Apparently the #1 factor for getting superbuff (for both men and women) is divorce. Nothing sheds unsightly extra weight like the revenge motive of being shed by one's mate. Also does wonders for wardrobe choices.

Ewwww sacha… they get to train together.

Joe Piscopo did this 40 years ago. He was even in health-club commercials.

Borat had a dad bod, which he put on display in the famous Speedo scene. A dad bod is nothing more than a muscular man who doesn't care about his subcutaneous fat. So Cohen was already halfway to his fitness goal.

Peachy… there is a YouTube video my golfer son sent me a while back where Cohen was trying to learn golf that was absolutely hilarious.

Another point of view from the Telegraph:
Baron Cohen doesn’t realise his midlife post-divorce body is repellent to most women.

“He divorced Isla Fisher. Fool.”

The most conservative demographic in the country is males aged 18-29.

Did a man actually initiate a divorce?

Was she rich?

He looks a little like Luigi Mangione.

So, a rich Oxford educated British Jew, who mocks Americans and Gentiles is supposed to be our role model? Sorry - hard pass.

So today's theme is male nudity?

Anthony ayon kay ...

As a 60+ multi-decadal gym rat, good for him. Hard to keep things like that though (cf., Hugh Jackman), but I'd wager he got over-ripped for the photo shoot (plus, you know, Photoshop). Hope it's not just a phase.

Lazarus ayon kay ...

I knew his marriage to pixyish Isla Fisher wasn't going to last (but I did have hopes for Katy Perry and Russell Brand).

Everything I've heard about him suggests that he's a truly horrible person -- the latest version of the upper class British snot that everyone hates.

Disparity of Cult ayon kay ...

He complains about anti-Semitism but never mind how he mistreats people. Roma, Kazakh...they're all the same. His disguise didn't work with the gun store owner in California. "You're Borat" and he slithered out the door, abandoning his video crew.

Big Mike ayon kay ...

His style of “comedy” invites people to hit him hard in the face. Not surprised he found the need to bulk up.

Joe Bar ayon kay ...

“He divorced Isla Fisher. Fool.”
From what I’ve read, it was the other way around.

chuck ayon kay ...

Still not funny.

Readering ayon kay ...

They have to put someone on the cover.

tommyesq ayon kay ...

Virtually all Hollywood types who get bulky and cut do it through steroids, then talk about their diet and fitness trainer like it was all natural. At least Dwaye "The Rock" Johnson is honest about his method.

So today's theme is male nudity?

I'm leaning towards subjective 'comedy.'
