Writes Hanif Abdurraqub, in
"Zohran Mamdani and Mahmoud Khalil Are in on the Joke/What it feels like to laugh when the world expects you to disappear" (The New Yorker).
Beyond whatever disconnects may exist in my faith practice, I still feel deeply connected to the ummah—the body, the community—and the responsibilities that this connection carries. A Hadith that I love, and which underpins many of my actions, states that “the believers in their mutual kindness, compassion, and sympathy are just like one body. When one of the limbs suffers, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever.”...
I have been talking with my Muslim friends about the specific brand of Islamophobia and anti-Arab sentiment that has recently arisen—or re-arisen, depending on how one chooses to look at it—in America. In New York City, Zohran Mamdani... will almost certainly.... have to answer the same questions, repeatedly, about whether he’s antisemitic and about his plans to address the safety of Jewish New Yorkers (which he has detailed at length). But there’s no framework for any kind of parallel discussion about the fears or the safety of Muslim New Yorkers. Before the primary, a pro-Cuomo pac prepared a mailer that appeared to thicken and lengthen Mamdani’s beard, and yet Andrew Cuomo was not repeatedly asked questions about how he might keep Muslims safe or about the dialogue he’s having with Muslim leaders. I’m not necessarily saying that there should be pressure on Mamdani’s opponents to answer these questions—what I am saying is that there’s not even a runway upon which such an inquiry could take off. It’s as if there’s an entire part of the population that remains invisible until feared.
I tend to find Islamophobia unspectacular.... Sometimes it’s funny, this Muslim Panic, or the absurdity of it circles back to a kind of comedy.... There is another Hadith that I cherish. In it, a prophet who is delivering a sermon says, “Paradise and Hellfire were shown to me, and I have never seen such good and evil as I have today. If you knew what I know, you would laugh little and weep often.”...

Maybe it's the stench of 3,000 bodies and 220 stories of World Trade Center that still lingers in the air around Manhattan.
Every time I go there, sentiment re-arises.
“ “the believers in their mutual kindness, compassion, and sympathy are just like one body”
Lots of kindness, compassion and sympathy on October 7th.
Who am I going to believe? This guy or my own lying eyes?
Do we really want Muslims in the United States talking about runways and things taking off?
Maybe this part of the ummah should shut it's fucking piehole.
"When one of the limbs suffers, the whole body responds..."
What happens when one of the limbs decapitates a Christian, performs an honour killing or married an 11 year old girl? How does the body respond?
They are given entry into the country, scholarships to attend our universities (most of which were created by Christians), and then disrupt classes to demand the safety of Muslims in other countries that attack their neighbors. The interesting things is the millions of Muslims worldwide that don’t attack their neighbors and don’t disrupt classrooms also are not worried about their safety.
Is it okay for an infidel to draw a sketch of Mohammad? A test of whether you can be an American.
Yeah, its weird how the MSM does this rhetorical tactic of asking the same question over and over again whenever they deal with some "outsider". They did this with Trump in 2015/2016. He was asked almost every day "Do you disavow the KKK?" "Do you dislike Neo-Nazis?" "Do you denounce antisemitism?"
The trick is to hope that one day the "victim" will screw up and say the wrong thing. They did that with Trump, when he was he asked whether he 'disavowed' some rightwing group no one had heard of. And then instead of saying "Yes". He said "who?" and moved on. Headlines next day: "Trump refuses to denounce racist group X".
It’s as if there’s an entire part of the population that remains invisible until feared.
That's exactly what Black Americans said during the civil rights struggle. This guy knows how to push liberal buttons.
"Islamophobia" is the fear that a follower of Mohammed might mean us harm. Muslims routinely chant "Death to the West" and "Globalize the Intifada" so I have a reasonable expectation that one who claims "Islam" as their religion does indeed mean to do my nation harm, if not me personally.
Therefore any rational person should feel free to call it what it is and simply laugh at anyone trying to cloak their evil intent my tossing the I-word around. There cannot be an irrational phobia towards Islam because its adherents have proved to be incapable of tolerating our Republican form of government and hell-bent on imposing their religious law instead. Fearing what they will do if elected is not only very rational, it is necessary to understand what is front of our face.
They do not hide their intentions, but they will lie about what you see and tell you it's harmless.
One of the most distasteful aspects of Islam (other than the rape and murder) is the self pity. "Boo hoo, people don't trust me simply because I'm a medieval barbarian."
A phobia is an irrational fear. There is nothing irrational about disliking and fearing Islam.
I love how Powerful, millionaire/Billionaire Jews basically own and run NYC, but we're supposed to be concerned over their "Safety" LOL. I think we need to be more concerned over Zohran safety. He'd better be very Pro-Israel, or something may happen to him.
Probably the most powerless and at risk "Community" in NYC are the 15 percent of whites who are not Jewish. Who's concerned for their safety? LOL.
This guy can’t understand why Muslim politicians are grilled about Jews and Jewish protection but other politicians are not questioned about Islamophobia. That is scary.
Some day I'll be as succinct as Tim M.
Remember London.
Ocean is right because it is NEVER the Jews who are attacked by Islamicists just like the killers never ever say "Death to Zionists."
How is he right? Because in his mind there is some distinct difference between "Jew" and "Zionist." And we all know they will spare "Jews" who say "I am opposed to the Jewish state" right?
Remember Charlie Hebdo.
Spaniards in Barcelona had the right idea yesterday ... they burnt the Piera Mosque to the ground.
They waited for the ummah to spend all that money building it though. Then they burnt it to the ground.
Remember Daniel Pearl.
Remember 9/11.
WHY, would any one think that ANY Muslim might mean them harm?
I mean, anyone without eyes or ears or brains?
Maybe Sadiq Khan can come over to NYC and explain to those afflicted with Islamophobia why there's nothing to worry about.
Remember the Bataclan.
Remember the Marriot Pakistan.
Toxic Empathy in an IV drip.
I never asserted that no Jew anywhere has never been attacked. I asserted that its hysterical and ridiculous to think that millionares/billionaires Jews in NYC are "at risk" because of one candidate for mayor is a Muslim.
The Jews are without a doubt the powerful group in NYC. They are not at risk. For some reason, anytime some Powerful Jew or powerful Jewish organization feels uncomfortable, the other 98 percent of the USA is supposed to be upset. No can do.
It would be wrong for Westerners to lump the billion plus Muslims into one body and criticize the whole for the acts of a radical fringe.
It’s probably just as incorrect for Muslims to talk about the believers in the same way, as one body. Islam is like Protestantism. There’s a book but no central authority, therefore many can step forward and interpret the book differently, giving a wide spectrum of theologies.
The unity of Islam is probably best characterized by the cultural saying, “me and my brother against my cousin; me and my cousin against the world.”
They did that with Trump, when he was he asked whether he 'disavowed' some rightwing group no one had heard of. And then instead of saying "Yes". He said "who?" and moved on. Headlines next day: "Trump refuses to denounce racist group X".
This is a fave trick. When my mostly moribund blog was more active, my leftist readers would regularly call my attention to fringe figures, demanding to know why I hadn't denounced them. If it was someone I'd never heard of, my response would be, "oh, thanks for calling this individual to my attention. I'm sure he/she/it/whatever is just as awful as you describe." If it was someone I'd heard of but didn't care about, my response would be "no one cares what he/she/it/whatever says. Why do you?"
It's all a ritual and considering how leftism is often a substitute for faith in God, it's not surprising because every substitute faith needs its rituals.
The unity of Islam is probably best characterized by the cultural saying, “me and my brother against my cousin; me and my cousin against the world.”
But it would be wrong for Westerners to say that.
Islam is like Protestantism.
No it isn't.
Christ said choose. Mohammed said submit.
“the believers in their mutual kindness, compassion, and sympathy are just like one body. When one of the limbs suffers, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever.”
Yes, "the believers". Notably absent? "Americans". Americans are kinder to Muslims (even as many of them demand our submission and murder) than Muslims are to non-Muslims anywhere on Earth.
We Other you because more and more of us are coming to realize that no matter how much we extend good faith brotherhood to you, you will never extend it back.
If New York elects a Muslim mayor, they should expect zero sympathy from anybody when the rest of their skyscrapers come down on them.
"One of the most distasteful aspects of Islam (other than the rape and murder) is the self pity."
Jews find antisemitism everywhere but it's not self-pity but for victimhood's political advantage externally and to produce alienation internally for discouraging assimilation.
Behave more like white men, who treat any oppression as just more of what they already get from their wives.
The Jews are without a doubt the powerful group in NYC. They are not at risk
This is exactly the stupidity I was mocking.
Mohammed said submit.
Mohammed looked at a 6-year-old and said "I'd hit that."
"This is exactly the stupidity I was mocking."
He said without evidence. Or logic.
@Political Junkie; Those were ALL 'Moments of Clarity'.
Christ said choose. Mohammed said submit.
Exactly. Christ also said to "render unto Caesar" that which is his, consistent with the admonitions to pray for and respect our Government leaders. Islam demands superiority to any government, submission of "infidels" and death to too many.
It is not at all like being Protestant.
Mike (MJB Wolf) said...
"Islamophobia" is the fear that a follower of Mohammed might mean us harm.
"Phobia: an extreme or irrational fear of or aversion to something."
Irrational fear? No. There is no suffix for rational fear- but there are words.
"A word that means rational fear is prudence or circumspection; both imply carefulness and sound judgment in the face of potential danger."
Islamo-prudence is more the case. Sudden onset jihadism is a problem exclusive to islam. There are documented cases of it all over the western world.
The Amish and Mennonite living near me don't demand or even ask for me to do things anathema to them. In the western world once there are enough of them- muslims pressure governments and corporations to enforce, or at least encourage, no eating for anyone during daylight hours during Ramadan.
This dude doesn't want police officers responding to domestic violence. This is a bad look for a Muslim politician. When I was a landlord, I had a ton of Muslim tenants and, without exception, these dudes would beat the daylights out of their wives and daughters. One of these guys had a disabled daughter and to get her to stop talking he would slam her head against the wall. This stuff is pretty traumatizing to be around. Also the police wouldn't do anything. I'd get a call and a "code complian̈ce officer" would tell me to get rid of these people. We'd get about four months to get these people to leave our apartments or we would be forced to file an eviction.
80% of hate crimes in NYC are perpetrated against Jews year after year. Mostly by muslims. Sometimes by black perps. Occasionally by black muslims or white guys.
Somehow "Rich Jews are not at risk" though because Ocean says so. Without evidence. Or logic.
Perhaps Hanif Abdurraqub could tell us which Hadith it is that says it’s okay rape underage Christian and Jewish girls and boys? Does he love that one too?
This islamophobia business is an attempt to distract from Mamdani being a communist, another system that says submit.
In other (but related) news, now that the idiot Cuomo has decided to run, Mamdani's election is basically totally assured. We only have one chance to stop him, which is to siphon off some of his votes by running Elmo.
Norm MacDonald put it perfectly: "What terrifies me is if ISIS were to detonate a nuclear device and kill 50 million Americans. Imagine the backlash against peaceful Muslims?"
Ha ha. Big yuks. They want to torture and murder us. What a scream.
Why do so many Muslims leave the bosom of the ummah to live in such inhospitable places as Western Europe, the UK, or the United States?
Anyone who buys this bullshit will get what they deserve and find it barbaric. It's just stupid to decry tyranny everyday and then vote for someone like Mamdani. The bait and switch is as old as Islam itself. His religion endorses lying to you. Does your religion do that? His party does the same, as does his ideology. Everything about him says fraud and lies.
When I saw this post, I thought that "of course this will just permit a bunch of the usual suspects to let their racist insults fly at Muslims". What I wasn't expecting is that they would take the opportunity to spread blood libels against Jews too.
But of course, I am anti-Semite for reasons none of you can articulate.
You are not of the body (Star Trek): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m48xii7ndcg
The author seems to concede that there is a very widely held and at least moderately strong in-group preference in Islam but then thinks it is unfair for those who are not in that in-group to wonder if their own interests will be considered to the same degree as those of the in-group. If there is one thing that needs to change in our society and globally, especially in the West, it is this childish assumption of many that diversity is some sort of unalloyed good. For all of human history people have grouped up together in groups that are culturally different than other groups. Humans tend to have in-group preferences in general. Forcing different groups together creates potential conflicts of interest unless it can be done under a unifying supra-group. Elevating the relative importance of various infra-groups makes it harder to unify under the supra-group.
Democratic-Soviet "Project 2029" which includes:
- Forced re-education of MAGA
- Punitive taxes on MAGA businesses
- Prosecuting right-leaning billionaires

Soviet Democratics demand you be tortured and all your stuff be stolen from you.
but please - Don't call them fascist Nazis.
Having lived and worked in several Muslim countries, I can attest that I don't want any of that, here. It is the methodical substitution of terror for trust, in every aspect of life.
@RCOCEAN, not every Jew is wealthy, or even affluent. Are you saying that the presence of “millionaire/billionaire” Jews will protect ordinary Jews on the street? How’s that supposed to work in your dreamland?
Over the last year many thousands of Christians have been killed almost all by Muslims. They were killed because of their religion.
This is more than the number of Jews killed on October 7th.
It is more than the number of Muslims killed in Ghaza.
The people who hate Jews only care about hating Jews. The people who support Jews only care about Muslims.
Israel destroyed the government in Syria. This allowed the Sunni Majority in Syria to take over the country. They are currently wiping out the Christians in Syria en masse.
Israel is doing absolutely nothing for the Christians in Syria. Many many more Christians are being killed and raped than what happened on October 7th.
Israel took too long to wipe out Hamas and they were way to lenient on the people of Ghaza. They put way too much effort to protect Ghazans while completely ignoring the Christians they got killed.
I think it is time for Israel and it's leadership as well as our leadership to answer some questions about Jeffrey Epstein as well. Anyone who deflects from the obvious fact that Epstein was Mossad should jump off a bridge and take a swim.

There are brave voices in the Muslim world that are loudly calling for reformation.
They get zero support really from anyone. They are also routinely killed by other Muslims.
It is almost as if the Globalist Oligarchs are keeping Muslims violent and using Muslims as their Brownshirts and Red Guards to cause instability in society to gain power under the guise of Marxist theories.

Radical Theocratic Islam is a perfect match with the modern Soviet-Democratic Party.
If NY gets a Muslim mayor, will one of the many art galleries in NY have a “Piss Mohammed,” exhibit? Will the NY Muslims be as tolerant as the Catholics were?
The American idea (ideally) is based on the rights and obligations of the individual. One is expected to leave behind the collectivities of one's earlier politics and castes as one becomes American. America is, ideally, the uncollected collectivity. Ummah me no ummahs!
There’s reason enough to want him gone because of his bad policies. No need to discuss his religion…
Mamdani(D) isn't merely "Muslim" - he's a Jew hating - intifada screaming - open Communist.

How do you know?
"But we don't criticize all of Protestantism or evangelicalism for the acts of the Westborough Baptist Church"
and WHAT PERCENTAGE of protestants support the Westboros?
is it one percent? one tenth of a percent? one hundredth?
and WHAT PERCENTAGE of muslims support Sharia law?
is one percent? TEN percent? NINETY percent?
this word "islamic radicals"..
i no think that word Means, what You think it means
the specific brand of Islamophobia and anti-Arab sentiment that has recently arisen—or re-arisen
What is so odd about this statement is the lack of clarity within the factual contradictions. I have seen nothing in America that is remotely what he describes. I freely admit that I think that Islam is a steaming pile of crap as a religion and that Mohammad was a fraud, but then the same could be said of the Holy Rollers, Jim Jones and Jimmy Swaggart. I don’t see street demonstrations and violence directed towards Muslims or Arabs. I see plenty directed against Jews. I personally watched two large buildings containing thousands of Americans fall into a massive pile of debris…and bodies.
From what I can see, Islam, Sharia, and a free society apparently cannot occupy the same space. That’s a contradiction about which some clarity would be useful rather than savoring the navel lint of a commie pinko.

I roll my eyes whenever someone talks about a "Reformation" of Islam. The *whole point* of the Protestant Reformation was to make Christianity more like Islam! The only way you could really reform Islam is to point out that even the Quran strongly implies that Jesus is God incarnate. ie. Convert them to Christian faith.
Blair said:

Complete nonsense. You clearly don't know what you are talking about.
This is so tiresome. Is his policy of "globalize the Intifada" part of his political being or his religion?
I refuse to be baited in to a race war, a war that also won't disappear because Fat Mike at Althouse is tired. The important thing is he goes away and we reduce incentives to promote the next one…
Good luck, NYC. Some people insist on learning their lessons the hard way.
“Probably the most powerless and at risk "Community" in NYC are the 15 percent of whites who are not Jewish. Who's concerned for their safety? LOL.“
Just in case you were not joking, Grok disagrees with the 15% number. While Grok couldn’t come up with an exact number, it called the 15% number, or rather the inverse, that 85% of NYC whites are Jewish, an exaggeration.
Norm McDonald could not be reached for comment.
Don't you worry about the left-wing Radical Antifa thugs & BLM rioters... who get to destroy whole cities (See Portland etc..) causing billions in property damage...

Truth be told, there isn’t a young mammal living on this planet that a substantial portion of male Muslims WOULDN’T “hit”.

You mean the students at Cooper Union who had to lock themselves in the library after 10/7 to escape a screaming mob? Or the Jewish students at Columbia who were prevented from walking onto the campus? Or the Jewish teachers who couldn’t teach their classes?
Yup, those millionaire/billionaire Jews are perfectly safe. Besides, they deserve whatever they get.

"Blair said:

Actually I do. The Protestant Reformation wanted to change Christianity from the testimony of a living Church with its Saints and Bishops to one based entirely on a Holy Book. That's Islam. It went around destroying iconography of Christ and the Saints, and burning and desecrating Holy Relics. That's Islam. Many Protestants began to deny the Holy Trinity and the Incarnation. That's Islam. They introduced the doctrine of predestination. That's Islam. They started wars based on their interpretation of Scripture. That's Islam. They introduced puritanical codes around food, alcohol and celebrating feasts. That's Islam. Protestantism is just Islam where their "Quran" happens to believe in Jesus. At its heart it denies the reality of the Incarnation and Christ's living Body, and like Islam, is a spiritual dead end.

He was saying that wealthy Jews are going to be under no real threat, and if anything will be handing them out to Mamdani if he goes after their interests. That's quite different from knowing (or caring) what will happen to ordinary Jews. But given how George Soros started his career, I imagine "wealthy" Jews will let regular people of all stripes suffer while they hunker down.
I thought of that Norm Macdonald joke too. If Mamdani is elected and ruins NYC (more than it has been ruined), it won't be good for Muslims. It won't be good for anybody else first.
I'm in a 1950s mood now. Be religious, but wear your religion lightly, whoever you are. Be secular enough to know when it's weighing you down. I don't express that very well, but people ought to know enough to grapple with the conflicting demands of this world and the other.
The Protestant Reformation was a back to the Bible movement. It certainly wasn't literally intended to make Christianity more like Islam, but Islamic reform movements have been back to the Koran movements, and they aren't what's needed now. In spite of what we hear about Ayatollahs Islam has no popes. It might have been better if it did -- or it might not have been.
Somebody said that all major religions were unique. Somebody else said that all major religions were "religion plus." Religion plus ethnicity. Religion plus law code. Religion plus caste structure. Religion plus meditation or physical culture. I think that man made an exception for Christianity, but we can see Christianity as religion with a heavy dose of trinitarian theology. It's hard for the modern world to cope with fundamentalist Islam, but the often-expressed idea that Islam isn't a real religion doesn't take this into account.
But we don't criticize all of Protestantism or evangelicalism for the acts of the Westborough Baptist Church, do we? But we do criticize all of Islam for their radicals.
Who's we? Because the left has constantly tried to conflate Westborough Baptist with all Christians. You don't, I'm sure because you bother to think.
And I don't consider all Muslims to be dangerous radicals and terrorists or potential terrorists. I lived and worked with Muslims in the ME for years. I had a great experience overall and had great friends who were Muslim. But those friends weren't the kind of guys who wind up in charge.
Islam is more than just a religion. It's a political system and a system of social control. I don't think it's compatible with a free and open society. Like Marxism, it will always try to be the only way. It will always say submit.
"Islamic reform movements have been back to the Koran movements, and they aren't what's needed now."
Sometimes people say "Islam needs its Martin Luther". Good heavens no! That's how we got here. Islam needs its Voltaire.
The problem even with moderate Islam is simple--wherever and whenever there is more Islam there is less of everything else.
That's not phobic, it's obvious.
“Islamophobia” is an irrational term designed to counter a rational fear. Even the lefties at Wikipedia offer some sense of the issue: “According to Fondapol, a French think tank, between 1979 and May 2021, at least 48,035 Islamist terrorist attacks took place worldwide, causing the deaths of at least 210,138 people.” Muslims who do not murder or condone murder do not understand the tenets of their faith.
As I see the inevitable comparison between Islam and Christianity offered by apologists for the atrocities of Islamists, I scour the New Testament, particularly the Gospels, for directives to force people to accept Christianity. Obviously, there are none, nor are there admonitions to kill or enslave people who don’t.
A very, very astute observation, Blair. Absent intention, the structures are identical. It’s the Catholic countries like Poland and Italy that are staunchly anti-Islam
Iman: "And think of that courageous Italian man who told them where they could put their bullshit before telling them he was going to show them how an Italian man dies right before they sawed his head off."

What Krumhorn said.
Read the following. NOTHING has changed in 239 years.
In March 1786, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson travelled to London to negotiate an end to the attacks on American ships (by the "Barbary Pirates") with the Barbary States envoy Sidi Haj Abdulrahman. The content below is excerpted verbatim from their letter to John Jay, dated March 28, 1786.
We took the liberty to make some inquiries concerning the Grounds of their pretentions to make war upon Nations who had done them no Injury, and observed that we considered all mankind as our friends who had done us no wrong, nor had given us any provocation.
When they asked him why they attacked innocent countries that had done them no harm, "The Ambassador answered us that it was founded on the Laws of the Prophet, that it was written in their Koran, that all nations who should not have answered their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as prisoners; and that every Mussulman [sic] who was slain in battle was sure to go to paradise."
That it was a law that the first who boarded an Enemy’s Vessell should have one slave, more than his share with the rest, which operated as an incentive to the most desperate Valour and Enterprise, that it was the Practice of their Corsairs to bear down upon a ship, for each sailor to take a dagger in each hand and another in his mouth, and leap on board, which so terrified their Enemies that very few ever stood against them, that he verily believed the Devil assisted his Countrymen, for they were almost always successful. We took time to consider and promised an answer, but we can give him no other, than that the demands exceed our Expectations, and that of Congress, so much that we can proceed no further without fresh instructions.

The war of Christendom against Islam is so old that its a subject for archaeology. It has deeply influenced European languages and culture. BegoƱa Olavide, Paseabase El Rey Moro (15th century, mudejar) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtO9UoTfiHk&pp=ygUYYmVnb25pYSBvbGF2aWRlIHJleSBtb3Jv
Respect the war.
yes Ibn wahhab was their martin luther, perhaps preceded by ibn Thamiyah, the Syria,
the more pure Islam, the more militant in nature, now mamdani is probably more of a Arab nationalist from his writings as much as they are,
Mamdani stands at the front of mobs, that threaten the deaths of Jews, by the thousands, but hes the victim
IsIamophobia is a curious chestnut coined by the former political officer in the territories of Pakistan, I prefer Islamognosis, knower about Islam,
"of course this will just permit a bunch of the usual suspects to let their racist insults fly at Muslims"
Islam isn't a race, dumbass.
"A word that means rational fear is prudence or circumspection; both imply carefulness and sound judgment in the face of potential danger."
Hence the 2nd amendment.
Freder. Islam is not a race. It's just an old, shit religious death cult.
jinx
"Jews find antisemitism everywhere but it's not self-pity but for victimhood's political advantage externally and to produce alienation internally for discouraging assimilation"
American jews have discovered they get advantages by screaming about antisemitism at the top of their lungs at the slightest insult. Again, one rule for them, one rule for everyone else.
You can't blame them. If dumbos want to reward their behavior, why stop?
"What happens when one of the limbs decapitates a Christian, performs an honour killing or married an 11 year old girl? How does the body respond?"
A thunderous erection?
the last time, a cohort was invited into the Iberian Peninsula from Morocco, they didn't leave for seven centuries,
but of course, the hadith doesn't mean the other people of the book, there are so many hadiths that prove the point

"I love how Powerful, millionaire/Billionaire Jews basically own and run NYC, but we're supposed to be concerned over their "Safety" LOL. @RCOCEAN
His hatred for Jews is putrid, imo. He thinks he's a "rational" man but he is unconscious of how warped he is. I can't imagine what it's like for a person to have or to live around that level of bile on a daily basis. It's bad enough how often we see it here.
FYI -- from Chatgpt
Religiously-Motivated Category Recorded Incidents -
NYC 2024:
Jewish -- 345
Christian & Other Religions -- ~21
Muslim -- 43
About 54% of all the religiously motivated hate crimes in NYC 2024 were committed against Jews who are about 10% of the population.
About 6.7% of all the religiously motivated hate crimes in NYC 2024 were committed against Muslims who are about 9% of the population.
About 3% of all the religiously motivated hate crimes in NYC 2024 were committed against Christians who are about 59% of the population.
Maybe this data explains why Christians in NYC are not fearful, why Muslims are somewhat fearful, and why Jews are quite fearful of a mayor who probably will encourage more "anti-Zionist" zeal and actions. There already is a religiously motivated hate crime against Jews in NYC nearly every day.
Dismissing the concern for the safety of Jews out of the irrational belief that millionaire/billionaire Jews are running the city is cold, vicious and completely out of touch with reality.
I should point out there were about 641 hate crimes of all types in NYC in 2024. They include: Religion (e.g., anti-Jewish, anti-Muslim, anti-Christian),Race and ethnicity (e.g., anti-Black, anti-Asian, anti-Latino), Sexual orientation (e.g., anti-LGBTQ+), Gender identity, Disability, others
I don't believe in these bogus "Hate" crime stats. What is a "hate crime"? Well it can be anything. Two Jews get in a fight over Israel, and one feels uncomfortable over "The hate for the Jewish state and Bibi". And calls in a Hate Crime!
A robber mutters an obsencity and steals your wallet. If they're white, its just robbery. If its a Jew, its a "hate crime".
And there's no law against filling a "fake hate crime" report. We had an Israeli calling up synagogues and making anti-Jewish remarks. It made headlines - of course. It probably padded the "hate crime" stats in a lot of places. We've had Rabbis and Jewish Professors painting swastikas on buildings (Its the black/noose equivilent) or walls. Hate Crime!
The number of "Hate Crime Hoaxes" is astronomical.
