The Steele dossier was forced into the ICA by Brennan and it appeared not just in the “annex” but was referenced in the main body of the ICA that ended up triggering the investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller that crippled the first two years of Trump’s first term and served to delegitimize his 2016 election victory.

And he gave Mueller a blank check and no time limit. Rosenstein even consulted Comey over picking a special counsel.
I do not expect him to be charged with anything. I'm cynical that way. He is, after all, a Democrat and anti-Trump.

If you show he committed part of the crime at CIA HQ, then you could try him in EDVA, where at least there's some chance the jury would include angry Loudon County dads, people put out of a job by the huge wave of illegals in the DMV, and other MAGAites. And of course the underlying crimes about which he lied took place almost entirely at Langley.

It is a problem, isn't it. Still, burdening him with the trial might be worthwhile. He certainly deserves it. If the case is as strong as it appears, it would be worthwhile to hear the arguments for the defense. And, you never know. Justice may prevail.
Serious legal question: Is there a necessity defense for perjury about a classified program? Basically "I couldn't have told the truth because that itself would be a crime."
The better way is to refuse to answer the question, then go in camera to sort things out. But you could get led down a garden path, then realize that refusing to answer the final question would reveal the program just as much as telling the truth.

As I have pointed out several times, the Mueller investigators knew almost from the start that the Steele Dossier was bullshit because they stopped all investigations into its claims at no later date than June of 2017- right at the start more or less. Don't believe me? Read Mueller's own damned report which no one apparently has ever done.
So, Brennan had to tell that lie in 2017 because he already knew Mueller would never make anything of it. And the lie more or less worked- we didn't know until April 2019 that they always knew the Steele Dossier was a fraud.

One of the curiosities (not really if you have a triple digit IQ) of the Mueller Report was this- nothing was investigated about Veselnikov (the meeting Fredo refers to above) and Joseph Mifsud (the guy who intimated to Papadopoulos the Russians had Shelob's e-mails). And the reason Mueller invested zero time into these angles of the investigation should be obvious beyond reasonable doubt- they were both honeypots set up by the people claiming the acts were evidence of Russian Collusion- i.e. the FBI. Veselnikov even got a special dispensation from Obama State Department to enter the U.S. precisely for that meeting. And what came of those two meeitngs- absolutely nothing not to mention anything criminal.
The FBI even tried to entrap Papadopoulos by giving him a cash payment in Cyprus in the hopes of arresting him on return to the U.S. for having the cash. Unfortunately for the FBI, Papadopoulos had the brains to give it to a lawyer in Cyprus precisely because he felt like the operation was a sting. After holding him in custody while the searched his bags for the money they were forced to release him.
I mean it’s past time to play the whole process is the punishment game. Not even that will stop it, but what the hell.

Worse. The Mueller investigation was essentially set up by McCade, His attorney Lisa Page, and her lover Peter Strzok. They had to hide the records for what they had been doing to attack Trump and help Clinton. Strzok was ultimately a branch chief in the FBI’s Counterintelligence Division (CD). And his CD buddies were the ones behind most of the nefarious doings at the FBI, including getting Crooked Hillary off, wiretapping Trump (through their 4 FISA warrants on Carter Page, that they knew to be false), perjury trapping LTG Flynn, etc. So, they fired up the Mueller SPecial Counsel investigation. Strzok and Page then moved over the there and took all their evidence over to the Mueller investigation, which then asserted a misinterpretation of Obstruction of Justice in keeping it out of DOJ hands. Then, when AG Barr shut down Mueller, the evidence was moved over to Adam Schiff and the now Dem controlled House Intelligence Committee.
The point is that Strzok, FBI’s CD, etc, knew, from the beginning, that the Steele Dossier was fabricated nonsense, funded by Crooked Hillary and the DNC. We are talking Aug/Sept 2016, months before the election. Right after Strzok’s triumphant return from Europe. It was to their advantage to pretend that they thought that it might be legitimate.
