"At least
one report has suggested he may be struggling to raise money for his presidential library, though a spokesperson described this characterization... as 'unfair.'... In official Washington, there is little... expression of appreciation for the former president. Biden still casts a long shadow over his party. In recent days, his former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg
had to answer for whether he said all he knew about Biden’s cognition in office. ('I told the truth, which is that he was old,' Buttigieg
told NPR’s Steve Inskeep. 'You could see that he was old.') And had his former VP Kamala Harris actually run for California governor,
the NYT noted, she would 'have faced difficult questions about how much she knew about President Biden’s decline and whether she participated in shielding his diminished health from the public.'... Biden... has kept himself at a remove from the Oversight proceedings and the former aides who are testifying...."
Quotes about the House Oversight proceedings from "two people familiar with Biden’s thinking":
1. "He’s really keeping himself at a distance — deliberately and intentionally — because he honors the oversight process."
2. "They’re more or less trying to make the damning case that Joe Biden is and was old in office."
3. "Everybody that has been interviewed knows there is no smoking gun. Everything that happened or didn’t happen was reported in the books. The reputational damage to some folks was already baked in, and there’s nothing new."

He's also TERMINALLY ILL. What good is a dead power broker even if he still had power to broker.
Soon to come : #100,000,001 on the Amazon best-seller list...
Only $10M for the Biden book deal? The closing of USAID is showing fruit already. It was never about sales. It was always the advanced cash.
Joe, just biden’ his time.
I assume that any memoir written by a politically active person is just a way to funnel money to that person and hundreds of thousands of these books, despite being bought, are never opened.
Added: Hunter will blow through that in no time - pun intended.
We're all terminally ill. I'll believe Biden has a deadly cancer when they lower him into the grave.
I'm shocked they had trouble raising money for library after all the graft Biden handed out. Maybe they can round up a million illegals and they can build a Pyramid to him.
The book industry (which is owned by mega media corporations) gives these "Book advances" as bribes to politicians. Who read Obama's book? Who read Pence's book? Who is reading Schumer's new book?
I hate read Romney's book. And skimmed through Bush 43's one.
"Everybody that has been interviewed knows there is no smoking gun. Everything that happened or didn’t happen was reported in the books."
Bullshit. Biden himself said he didn't sign the gas moratorium but his signature is on it. "Everything" was far from reached in the reporting. In fact the "reporters" have never explained why they couldn't see what was plainly in front of their and our faces.
Who is the ghostwriter, aren't you even curious, ann?
David French's wife?
@The Vault Dweller Exactly. One very necessary law is that when these clowns leave public service, book fees, speaking fees, honoraria, etc. should be taxed at 90% for at least a decade.
"I'm shocked they had trouble raising money for library after all the graft Biden handed out. "
Given how energetic the Trump admin has been and with how much institutional change has occurred in D.C., I wonder if those who have been the recipients of the grift are worried about doing their part now because their financially odd expenditures might be seen as evidence of criminal behavior. Something tells me that Hunter Biden is going to find it hard to find more buyers for his artwork.
He wasn't just "old."
Does no one who pretends that that was the problem with Joe Biden know any old people?
(Of course, I know that the dual points of mischaracterizing Biden's decline by calling it simply "old age" are, first, to minimize their duplicity, and second, to attempt to tar Trump with the same brush - although no one in her right mind could claim that Trump's speech or actions bear the slightest resemblance to the shambling, mumbling, bewildered wreck that was nominally our president from 2021 to 2025.)
He's also TERMINALLY ILL bleats 3D without evidence. His doctor took the fifth yet you think you know because Biden's spokeskank said so. That sums up progressivism right there. No evidence but they believe anything the DNC says to believe.
Since 3D is the expert perhaps he can advise us what treatment or care Biden is receiving for his alleged terminal illness.
Will the auto-pen be included in the Biden library?
Buttigieg spent like 1.2 trillion dollars as Transportation Secretary. On what? He has nothing to show for it. 8 car chargers. He built 8 car chargers. Yay.
Buttigieg spent $80 billion on DEI grants, but deferred rebuilding our aging air traffic control system. $80 billion is enough to build 5 aircraft carriers.
Why don't they ask him about that? I'm sure Pete would love to talk about Joe Biden all day. Why isn't he he called to account for where all that money went? It's insane.
These people are not just looting the treasury, they're tearing the wiring out of the walls.
Honestly can't wait to read Biden's book.
I can't wait to read the true, untold story about he and Cornpop, and their love that dare not speak its name.
Or to learn the number of Republican Senators he took out behind the Senate to personally beat some sense into with his fiery Irish temper.
And about that time he flew that bomber to Berlin and dropped that atom bomb on Hitler.
Please, let him write it!
"'I told the truth, which is that he was old,' Buttigieg told NPR’s Steve Inskeep. 'You could see that he was old.'"

Their joint love of Coldplay?
It’s not like they can advance him the money on a Netflix deal. Barack and the ousted royals left only a few crumbs and there’s no more animals to talk about…
Something's got to be done about book deals. It's nothing but graft. Hillary invented this end-round with her noxious It Takes a Village literary POS. We need legislation to curb this. By all means right the book, but no advances and royalties go to the Treasury.
Keep these shitlib idiots away from the US Treasury !
"Everybody that has been interviewed knows there is no smoking gun. Everything that happened or didn’t happen was reported in the books. The reputational damage to some folks was already baked in, and there’s nothing new."
Kind of the same things that Bill Barr said about Epstein's demise. You remember straight shooter Bill Barr? He's the guy whose father personally knew Epstein and wrote a novel graphically depicting sex between adult men and underage girls. You can always trust content from the deep state. Remember when they told us that the "deep state" did not actually exist? There was an end on the matter right there and then!
I can't wait to read the true, untold story about he and Cornpop, and their love that dare not speak its name
Which is a great way of saying the whole idea of Biden, who can't recall what killed Beau half the time, "writing" any "book" is incredibly absurd. He can't even talk a ghost writer through it. And what we now know about his debate prep ("He walked away and went out to sun bathe because he was bored") leads me to state he can't even pay attention long enough to assist in the endeavor. IF there is a book, Biden's participation will be the least part of the group effort.
Assuming he lives long enough to claim he helped.
So are you suggesting that there is a conspiracy that Biden Administration covered up Joe's cancer? Why would they LIE about lying to us? 🤪 When someone fesses up to wrongdoing I believe them but you do whatever it is you do, guy.
Mick Jagger is 7 months younger than Biden, and he sure doesn't prance around the stage like an old man like Biden. Don't excuse Biden's age....it was his mind that was delusional.
It's nothing but graft. Hillary invented this end-round with her noxious It Takes a Village literary POS.
Damn I hate to quibble with Q but, there was a Speaker of the House prior to that who sparked rules changes because he had an even bigger book grift going, where they forced donors to buy them or some shit like that.
At least one report has suggested he may be struggling to raise money for his presidential library
So far they have raised enough to hang a nice sign on his garage, which will continue to house a dusty Corvette surrounded and covered by stacked file boxes.
Bob Boyd and 7:42 is spot on. That NPR interview was pathetic.
Book advance deals, even weakly funded ones like this, are money laundering by donors who are likely owed or want much more. How much money did Hunter secretly squirrel away?
"proceedings from "two people familiar with Biden’s thinking"...."
If you're making a list of people familiar with Joe Biden's thinking, that list would not include Joe Biden.
At least one report has suggested he may be struggling to raise money for his presidential library
To be fair to Biden, he's been in elected office for 50 years. There will be nothing new in his book. At least Obama has an interesting backstory. Biden had a chance to make his money, and he did.
Biden should put out a special edition Mad Libs deck.
Bob Boyd and I were of the same thought. My suggestion is that, if there is actually a need for a Joe Biden Library, they should simply design and build a concrete exterior to the garage where Joe already keeps his documents laying helter-skelter around his Corvette. I'm sure there's room to add more. They can simply build a structure in the same Brutalist style as the Obama Presidential Library in Chicago, but on land already owned by Biden, in a structure already famous for housing documents, Top Secret and otherwise.
To give Joe more heft than he deserves, they could add floors above the current garage structure, all the while the exterior would be only the same ugly concrete looking Brutalist style of the Obama Library.
And, it may prove to be a boon for the City of Wilmington, which otherwise is known only as the place where corporate registrations are kept. This library could attract school buses for day trips of history from around the area. Do they have children in Delaware?
""two people familiar with Biden’s thinking"
No one knows what Biden knows!
They should look into the lies about Mueller actually running that investigation too, he was another utterly senile figurehead who kept the job because his inability to follow the doings of his "underlings" was considered his most valuable quality to the people keeping him in his job, whoever they were.
----- "it’s far closer to the end of a political life than the beginning of one."
Really?! Thanks for the scoop, Politico.
Just imagine what Would happen if the person goes riding this had a sense of humor and just went crazy writing a semi true semi farcical commentary on American politics.
Even better if they just opened up and told everybody everything goes on honestly and openly, this would be one of the best selling books in the history of the country.
I see this is a massive opportunity.
That was supposed to be ghost writing.
Still got some kinks in the algorithms.
The Biden family = very bad people.
OT: is this real? OMG - yay, if yes.
Toxic soviet leftism (D) - dying as it should.
Good thing there was no law against profitably writing one's memoirs at the end of U.S. Grant's life. It's how he provided a measure of security for his family.
There is something suspicious about the publishing industry.
I doubt even hard core leftists would buy his book.
1. You can't play the "he is old" card with Trump in office and Pelosi still running roughshod over congressional democrats.
2. Stacy Abrams' charity/NGO could fund Biden's library with pocket change.
Joe is probably counting on the autopen to draft his memoirs. (To be fair, the autopen played a more significant role in his presidency than Joe did.)
From black Puerto Rican synagogue to the White House. It has been an interesting life, you must admit.
Is Biden's memoir entitled "Where's Jackie?" Because that's the only appropriate title I can imagine.
"('I told the truth, which is that he was old,' Buttigieg told NPR’s Steve Inskeep. 'You could see that he was old.')"
Meh. My 91 year old mother could run rings around him, mentally and physically. His age isn't the issue, and Buttigieg knows it.
Well, Obama had two terms of bribery to be paid through the post-Presidential book pathway- Biden only got one term.
This past week, Trump announced he ended six wars, some ongoing for centuries, claimed windmills drive whales insane, called for Beyoncé's prosecution, accused Obama of treason, and complained that a convicted pedophile “stole” teenage girls from him.
Universities buy 90% of these books. Publishers would be out of business if the public bought these Memoirs of a Grifter
Only thirteen presidents have libraries under the corrupt modern system. It's well past time Congress reviewed the various Presidential Libraries and Records Acts that encourage presidents to build massive edifices to their egos. There is a legitimate national interest in preserving essential presidential documents and artifacts, so let there be a single presidential archive for those materials within the National Archives. For everything that's not covered, presidents can always simply donate it to a university. I'm sure even the University of Delaware would welcome Biden's papers.
Biff: "I'm sure even the University of Delaware would welcome Biden's papers."
They already have them.
Because he's a plagiarist, get it?

I agree that it should not be automatic that every president should build a library. I like the comment equating these libraries to pyramids. Also monuments to one of the last graft opportunities. What the hell is in the Bill Clinton library anyway? Back issues of Penthouse?
Decision Points was actually pretty good.
Suggested title:
Biden: Memoirs of a Grifter
By Autopen
Verbally Aprroved by Joe Biden.
I wonder if Joe biden will do a book tour. LOL.
Decision Points was actually pretty good.
One of the better POTUS memoirs. Of course, Bush tries to prove he was always right, and if wrong, someone else was to blame.
Cheney: Memoirs of a Dick. Wasn't good.
"There is no smoking gun" makes one question just what a "smoking gun" is. The phrase may apply in some contexts but be out of place in others. Is anyone looking for a "smoking gun"? Or are they looking for clarification about what actually happened?
Whether Biden has cancer or not and when he found out he had cancer and what medications he took would be questions of interest. The old Watergate questions, "What did the president know and when did he know it?" are relevant to the autopen controversy. Who made important government decisions? Is all that really "in the books?"
We found out the problem with not having Presidential libraries with the FL Documents case against Trump. Presidents end up with a lot of classified documents after leaving office. You then have the next Administration from the other party effectively revoke their security clearances, and, voila, they can be indicted for possession of those classified documents. The alternative is to just leave everything, which leaves the Deep State able to delete or hide anything that might harm them. Presidential libraries are the way, so far, that we have to protect against that. National Archives keeps protecting these documents, guaranteeing that classified documents are properly protected, while protecting them from the Deep State and their depredations.
Not enough funding for a library so maybe just a fancy bookcase. Or maybe a bookmobile to bring the history to people more directly.
Two structures have made me feel like a worm as I looked up at them. One of them was the Marienberg fortress in Wuerzburg, Germany and the other was the Johnson Presidential Library in Austin Texas.
Bruce Hayden@1213PM writes that the National Archives protects important documents from the Deep State. As I said on another thread, the world needs optimists.
Everything in all 16 presidential libraries would require 1 million square feet (23 acres) to warehouse. You could stack it in skyscrapers and get it down to a manageable ground area.
Yes, the massive pyramids we devote to this or that president are ridiculous. They may not actually be the worst solution of the problem. They bring in money from donors and visitors to pay for the warehousing and they bring recent history to people. If the alternative is the vast warehouse at the end of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" maybe there's at least a little to be said for presidential libraries. Of course, I join everyone else in groaning at these monstrosities.

Or maybe one of those "bookhouses" you see in small towns, shaped like a large birdhouse and stocked with used books donated by the locals.
Biden could put it at the end of his driveway, filled with memoir copies---his, Barack's, Kamala's, Hillary's.....
'I told the truth, which is that he was old,' Buttigieg told NPR’s Steve Inskeep. 'You could see that he was old.'
We need more of Pete's keen, incisive intellect in government.
Beiden has been a dumbshit since he flunked the third grade. A man that age could not improve and time will soon forget. (Ht to Garrison.)
Nothing wrong with a nice bookshelf, Joe.
Use the Political Solution to keep the grifting shitbirds like Joe Biden away from power.
Biden's political career had a Selina Meyer vibe, with a lot of Jonah Ryan mixed in.
They should title the book "Has Been"
It’s a scam. Who wants to read the memoirs of professional politicians? Well, Joe Dementia might have plagiarized the memoirs of somebody more interesting. Regardless, Soros is in for 100,000 copies.
Just a reminder that, nearly 10 years out of office, the Obama Presidential Library is still not finished, and is over budget.
He got paid an ADVANCE of $10 million. Will he sell enough books to cover that? Maybe. I doubt the Publisher cares. It may even have been a bribe to get him to step aside. I wonder if he will give Hunter 10%?
