Another spectacular performance of Gottes Zeit BWV106
Again without vibrato so singers actually have a pitch that can work in the music. Again an extra tall countertenor called an alto. Again everybody playing viols (frets, 6 strings, tuned like a lute - a lute player can pick up a viol and play it like a professional where a cello player has to learn where the notes are) except one woman playing a cello. Again a theorbo but you can't hear this one. There's one person playing recorder with a buzz cut who is the best looking woman there. No ugly makeup. A sort of authenticity. The soprano can belt it out in places, the sort of attack that made Sid Caeser wince when he played a male opera singer next to a belt-it-out female. The joke being the wince.
That counter alto is sublime, what a voice. Altogether a much richer sound from this ensemble. BWV 106 is one of your favorites, isn't it? Easy to see why.
Apparently blue jeans are a symbol of Nazism, according to the people who always seem very accustomed to recognizing Nazi lore. For those less familiar with Nazism, they seem well worn if over priced.
I spent a day with Bruggen long ago for some odd reason. He had spent the night after a concert. Drove him out to the local airport to see my airplane which was being worked on - he was very interested, sat in the cockpit with engine running, airplane tied down. Then we went to a bowling alley for coffee, and generally had a good time.
Listened to Gould playing Art of the Fugue on the organ, which he did not know Gould had done.
Generally a nice guy, had a good non-musical half day, talking of this and that. Then delivered him to a meeting of the NJ Recorder society and then drove him back to his NYC hotel.
I read the stories linked by Cook. I have read extensively of the suffering of the people of Hiroshima, and both leave me with the same feeling: the horror of war is not to be taken lightly. Palestinians cheered and celebrated when Hamas raped and mutilated and murdered their way across southern Israel. It must have been a joyful moment, launching a war of such purpose.
Now the joy is gone. Those who start a war do not always get to choose how the war ends.

I watched Black Bag . . . twice - didn’t catch all the intricacies of the plot the first time. Kate Blanchett is one of my favorite actors. She didn’t disappoint. Very good movie. Complex plot, dialog driven. 3 murders but violence is at a minimum. Less than in the Outfit. Thank you to those who recommended it. Reminded me of a quote (no idea who said it) by a spy: “Sometimes I look in the mirror and wonder who I’m working for.” I don’t know if the movie is a true portrayal but it really doesn’t matter to the enjoyment of it.
This bald ,fat guy just makes shit up, did you see the faces of the people at the presser when this guy went on for 20 minutes about made up lies that had no relevance to anything going on .He is in total decline mentally, makes DARK BRANDON look like Einstein, Righties sure are winning with this fella! Trump claims : Wind turbines cause cancer. Fact: There is no credible scientific evidence linking wind turbine noise or any other aspect of their operation to cancer. Claim: Wind turbines kill large numbers of birds, including bald eagles, and even drive whales "crazy". Fact: While wind turbines, like other human infrastructure, can pose a risk to birds, the number of birds killed is significantly lower than those killed by cats or other types of power plants, according to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. Wind farms can receive permits that exempt them from prosecution for a certain number of eagle deaths, but this doesn't necessitate turning off the turbines, notes CNN. As for whales, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration states there is no known link between large whale deaths and offshore wind activities. Claim: Wind power is the most expensive form of energy and requires massive subsidies. Fact: Onshore wind is actually one of the cheapest sources of new electricity generation. While subsidies have historically been part of wind energy development, these are being phased out in some regions, and the industry employs a growing number of people across the US, according to the American Wind Energy Association. Claim: Wind turbines are inefficient, unreliable, and lead to power outages when the wind doesn't blow. Fact: The electrical grid relies on a diverse range of power sources, and grid operators are skilled at managing the intermittency of wind power by using other sources when needed. Wind power is a growing contributor to the US energy mix, and the grid can accommodate large amounts of wind energy, according to the Department of Energy. Claim: Wind turbines ruin the landscape and decrease property values. Fact: While visual impact can be a source of annoyance for some people, large-scale studies have found no statistically significant decrease in average property values near wind turbines, states The New York Times. Studies also suggest that attitudes towards wind turbines and sensitivity to noise are stronger predictors of annoyance than the noise itself. Claim: Wind turbine blades cannot be recycled and their disposal is a major environmental problem. Fact: While wind turbine blades are challenging to recycle due to their durable design, most turbine materials are recyclable using existing infrastructure, says the Department of Energy. New recycling methods are also being developed. It's clear that many of these assertions are either inaccurate or misleading based on available scientific evidence and research. It is crucial to rely on credible sources for information on renewable energy and to be aware of the spread of misinformation regarding wind energy. The guy says you don't subsidize energy WRONG..WTF Caught cheating on the course ,this time live for world to see . What a DRUMPH.....

The Sydney Sweeney ads play on "great genes -> great jeans." She is a typical white European female model, and one of the more attractive examples of our species. This type of ad campaign was routine before Woke, as "sex sells."
The equity crowd denies that some people are widely judged to be 'better' than others, ignoring that every other plant and animal has good and bad varieties and examples. The bad ones don't survive, and the mediocre ones may be ignored or avoided. Do you buy old school Red Delicious apples or the newer Fuji or Honeycrisp types? Is Stacey Abrams or Sydney Sweeney your preferred imaginary mate?

Estimates for annual bird fatalities from wind turbines in the United States vary due to data collection complexities. Figures range from 681,000 to 1.17 million birds annually. These numbers fluctuate due to different study methodologies, the challenge of finding all carcasses, and the increasing number of turbines. Projections indicate that if the U.S. meets its goal of producing 20 percent of electrical energy with wind, bird deaths could exceed 1.4 million annually by 2030.
Comparison to Other Mortality Sources
To provide context, the impact of wind turbines on bird populations can be compared to other causes of avian mortality.
Buildings and windows account for 365 million to 988 million bird deaths annually in the U.S. Domestic and feral cats kill between 365 million and 1 billion birds in the U.S., with some estimates as high as 2.4 billion annually. Power lines contribute to between 8 million and 57.3 million bird deaths annually. Vehicle collisions are estimated to kill over 200 million birds annually.
When viewed against these figures, bird deaths attributed to wind turbines, while not insignificant, represent a smaller proportion of overall avian mortality from human causes.
Reading the comment posted by lonejustice, I see that the game is quite simple: whereas some of the more intelligent among us focus on highly protected species such as eagles and hawks, while he and DINKY pretend that all birds are created equal, and that there is no difference as far as legal protections between a random sparrow and a bald eagle.
Go mill yourself an Eagle and post it on social media, lonejustice. The feds will educate you very quickly.
@lonejustice If all birds were the same species, wind power would be trivial, but my guess (with zero research FWIW) is that building-collision and cat fatalities are focused on the small, short-lived, and typically much more numerous species (think warblers, sparrows, finches, chickadees). Windmills are more likely to take out larger, longer-living, less numerous species like raptors (which migrate during the day, using the same winds that power the turbines).
Auto collisions may take out a mix of the above as well as some species like pheasants that will never die from the other causes.
Clean Energy is the Big Oil of the 21st century. It's hard to get at unbiased, unslanted facts. Even PBS agrees, though, that it's a bad argument to say that cats kill more birds than windmills.

Remember when Obama was caught on a hot mic telling Medvedev he would have more flexibility after the election?
More flexibility turns out to be working with a Russian spy to frame Obama's political opponent.
