They say that with Trump, an accusation is a confession. During the 2024 campaign, he warned that Biden, and later Harris, would trigger World War III. Now, Trump is presenting a dangerous test of that claim.
There is no one in the Democratic party who is even in the same league of coolness as Trump. The Left is stuck in a pattern where they try to manufacture a group consensus on who or what is cool and use social pressure to get everyone else to go along. This is a very feminine strategy. Trump acts in his own authentically Trump manner and then other people are individually attracted to that behavior and persona and feel it is cool. This is a very masculine strategy. One strategy is more durable than the other. Think about how effective that one New Yorker cartoon was at trying to convince the masses that the 2024 DNC rally was fully of excitement over Kamala?
Trump’s primary wager is that Iran and its proxies in the ME are so weakened that he can portray his intervention as both limited and successful. It is also a bet that a subdued Tehran will quickly seek a settlement rather than retaliate.
If Trump is correct, he will have achieved a long-standing US foreign policy goal—the elimination of the Iranian nuclear threat—at a relatively low cost.
However, this move carries the significant risk of further inflaming the ME, endangering the security of the US and Israel and backfiring on a president who vowed not to draw the US into new global conflicts. It all depends on how the Iranian regime reacts, and its capacity and resolution remain uncertain at this point.
Missed it by that much Kaka! What they actually say is "Every Democrat accusation is projection." Current events bear that out. Biden brought us very very close to WW3 with his "a little incursion in Ukraine is ok" invitation for Putin to take more Ukrainian territory. Today the doomsday clock has been reset at 30 minutes to midnight not 30 seconds.
"I don't understand Kak. The moniker seems to be shared between at least two people, with disparate views and abilities."
Concern trolls always have this problem, Jamie. I don't know if you remember how this commenter first presented himself on this blog but I do remember. He presented himself as a long time Republican when he first appeared; but as it became increasingly likely that Trump was going to win the election the mask was mostly tossed aside by late last Summer. So, on occasion, Bich tries to put the mask back on hoping, I suppose, that at least one person on this blog will take his ramblings seriously.
"It all depends on how the Iranian regime reacts, and its capacity and resolution remain uncertain at this point."
The level of uncertainty which we feel, on the outside looking in, is probably far greater than that felt by those who are 'in the arena,' like Trump (both literally and figuratively) and Netanyahu. I, for one, am glad that they are there, and especially that our man in the arena is Trump, and not either Biden or Harris (God forbid!)
And it's not really all dependent on how the Iranians react, is it? It appears to me that they may be the poor mope sitting in his corner, bruised and bleeding, and not at all the champion they think they are. And our men in the arena can take credit for inflicting that beat-down on the Ayatollah.
Trump hopes that his display of power in Iran will stop the war — but that is not his decision to make. Iran gets a vote as well.
It’s worth emphasizing that no one, including Trump, can predict what will happen next. Starting a war is easy, especially when you command the world’s most powerful military. However, wars only end when one side surrenders.
The age-old warning about the fog of war is particularly relevant to today’s ME, where conflicts often involve more than two parties. ‘The enemy of your enemy may also be your enemy.’
“After being lectured by a younger Netanyahu, Bill Clinton once remarked to an aide, “Who’s the fucking superpower here?” ~ The Economist
Trump’s brief televised address following the strikes aimed to project control over the situation. In reality, Netanyahu has been driving events. Even he, however, cannot predict Iran’s response.
There is no proof that strikes made yesterday by forces of the United States was intended to start a war. A state of war with Iran has existed since 1979. Personally I believe that by allowing Iran to blow up the Marine barracks in Beirut and then selling them advanced weaponry in order to fund death squads in Central America led directly to 9/11 and the subsequent wars in Iraq Afghanistan Syria Libya etc.
Iran re-energize this war by having its proxies attack Israel on October 7th. Again, there is no evidence that this action has started a war. I think he's wrong but I believe that President Trump intends for this action to actually lead to peace.
Can somebody please explain to me why one facility is named 'Fordow'? That doesn't sound very Persian. Is it named after some long-dead westerner, like the Pakistani town of Abbottabod?
What we know from the outside and what has been displayed thus far point to a well orchestrated and deeply thought out plan to remove the Mullahs from power and to eliminate the only assholes in the Middle East who were blocking reconciliation with Israel.
Trump won the leaders of the ME over in his previous trip down there. People need to remember the rock star treatment he got and the massive enthusiasm of the ME governments to do business with the US.
Iran is going to be one of those countries that wants to do business with the US very soon.

You are just really stupid. It is fun to watch you walk back your stupidity of the last several days. Just Rich being wrong again.
Trump obviously has Netanyahu on a short leash. Trump always needs a bad cop and you have to pretend the bad cop might go too far. But Israel is clearly looking to have an Iran that is governed by the Persians instead of the Azerbijianis.

Given the strong horse theory, I would think most of the middle east is happy with what happened. Saudi Arabia is especially glad to have a neutered Iran. There was noise that they were considering getting a bomb if Iran got one. Lebanon is less under the control of Hezbollah. The smaller states know who can protect them and how cannot.
Iran may throw a punch at the US but the power differential is Mike Tyson vs Danny DeVito.
White & Rogan do look alike. But White is about 5’10, Rogan 5’7, and Trump 6 feet. So if you see them standing near each other, the taller one is White
By the way, one of the reasons it’s terrible all of these people lie all of the time about meaningless things is it makes it impossible to believe them when they’re talking about incredibly consequential things.
Hegseth repeated claims by Trump that US strikes had completely destroyed Iran’s nuclear facilities even as the Pentagon acknowledged it was too early to provide a full damage assessment.

The first instinct of democrats is to impeach Trump in another foolish gesture. The current planks of the party are:
1. Fund protests that involve violent opposition to law enforcement personnel. 2. Insult the United States as a major malefactor in the world, which would be great only if it did not exist. 3. Demand that everyone in the world should be permitted to move to the US and receive free food, hotels, and healthcare. 4. Use the climate issue to reduce the GDP of the US in favor of other nations.
Everyone sees this. The democrats Waterloo will come when the effects of a better economic policy show before the 2026 election and the recognition of the fact that Krugman was wrong, there is no multiplier of any magnitude for govt spending, and deficits do matter.

I can't wait for the MSNBC clips comparing his entrance to the Nuremberg rally.
Notice that besides walking besides Dana White Trump spent the most time greeting and conversing with Joe Rogan.

Biden would have put a lid on it.

Those 2 men look exactly alike to me.
I used to have cocky deflection. Then I answered one of those Peyronie's ads on cable.

Who did Trump walk in with? Agree with Ann - I cannot tell Rogan and Dana White apart. (at least in that setting)
Kak -
Wow there's risk. who knew?

I don't understand Kak. The moniker seems to be shared between at least two people, with disparate views and abilities.
All the world is a cage fight.
Trump could just drink a beer and democrats - including our resident Kak leftist here - would think he’s starting world war three.
While President Trump is honored with cheers, all eyes are on the beautiful honey accompanying Tyson. Sweet.

The Ayatollah’s biggest mistake? Not going on Joe Rogan. Maybe Khamenei can still save himself by buying Trump’s US Golden Visa.

Kak - no - still special sauce/sesame seed bun Kamala's biggest mistake. Her puppet strings were too short to reach Joe's studio in Texas.
Lady in blue... I choose you.

The Persians were not the ethnic group in charge.
That will change soon.
