This wedding would explain better than anything else I can see why the Democrats hastily re-labeled the protests to target Kings rather than Oligarchs.

English pea soup is so established as a good dish that it is mentioned in Horatio Hornblower novels. The Russian Czar, touring a British warship, was given a typical Naval meal and asked for seconds on the pea soup. Even I can make a reasonably scrumptious pea soup starting with dried peas, stock, and a few spices.
