My better-half's cousin died today. 6 hour trip from here to there- so I can make it down, attend the mass and wake, and return in a day. Be a long day, but I've had worse. I've met him a few times- at weddings, starting with his, and funerals- so ending with his... Maps at google say 13 hour from where my wife is at, so 16 or more... with an overnight stay. And 2 nights where it's going to be. She's not up for that. I'll be going to FL for the month of July, then we both will return to NY. In her new car. Leaving mine in FL. Russia is a closed paranoid society with a huge internal security service. And cheaply destroyed front line aircraft on the ground.

USA, OTOH, is an open society. With hundreds of thousands- if not over a million- potential terrorists already in the country, brought here deliberately by the last administration. They're already here. Judges are prohibiting this administration from sending them back. And they're conducting terrorist attacks already. Mohamed Sabry Soliman is not the first to conduct a terrorist attack, and won't be the last. And we're giving him the full panoply of rights that US citizens have. (Unless they were in Washington DC on January 6th...) He's not entitled to them. He's an unlawful combatant by any and every definition. He should be turned over to the military, a summary court martial conducted, and be hung by the neck until dead sometime next week. My preference would be in the street in front of the mosque he attended.

Drones wouldn't have to be smuggled in for an attack on any US base. They can be purchased over the counter. Bombs are easy to make. The attack wouldn't have to be conducted from miles away, as apparently the attacks in Russia were. Within a few hundred yards of most base fences are places where drones could be quickly launched from.

And with the number of motivated potential attackers we know are already here, 50 3 man teams with select fire weapons walking into 50 malls or sporting events or other crowded places on a weekend afternoon could spread carnage and panic in the entire nation. Combine that with same attack on a few military airfields, and... it reads like a Kurt Schlichter novel.

What can be done? Well, gee- how about massive and fast deportation, starting with those with the most potential to be terrorists or enemy nationals- Muslims of any stripe, Chinese, and Russians. Well wait! What about due process? Deportation is NOT a criminal trial, hence, all those rights in a trial aren't there. One question to be decided- is the person in the country lawfully? NO- they go. Yes, they can stay- for now -unless they've given reason why they should be deported. Did they give a commencement speech saying the US sucked? Withdraw their permission to stay. Again- not a trial. No right to rebut or introduce other evidence. Bye Bye! By the time we got down to Mexicans and further south, and cartel members, most will have self deported.

Not the only thing. Bases all need to be hardened. All aircraft parked under monolithic concrete domes or arches with 3-4 feet of dirt on top. Personnel shouldn't be housed in multi-hundred men barracks, they need to be spread out into platoon size hardened bunkers scattered throughout the base. Doesn't mean the soldiers can't have all the modern amenities- they just can't all be gathered in one spot. The political compromise in the Great Lakes states, some of which are over 80% white, has been to cede urban areas to blacks as long as whites get to run their own counties. When you elect your own mayor, sheriff, school board, and local judges in Whitesboro County up north somewhere, you don't really care what happens to blacks (or whites) in Detroit, Milwaukee, MSP, etc. Even a Keith Ellison in statewide office doesn't affect you as long as you stay in Whiteystan.

And the black political leaders don't care that you're holding on to tax money that could improve their voters' lot, because the leaders' lot is just fine.

A real crappy devil's bargain in the states that gave so much to preserve the Union and free the slaves.

It's possible that there were some security guards, or bomb-loaders, or crews doing pre-flight checks on or around the airplanes, but they are (a) legitimate military targets, and (b) destroying the planes on the ground means the crews are far more likely to be alive. In sum, the bombings saved far more lives than they cost.

Ukraine is a country in which pollsters operate freely and people say what they want. It's possible that Putin would also win a fair election, after 25 years of propaganda, though there's no danger at all that he will hold one. I have never said "that Russians and Ukrainians are two different races", rather that they speak two different languages. This fact even the Russians admit: their 'negotiators' in Istanbul complained that the list of Ukrainian demands was written in Ukrainian and English, and added 'fortunately we all know English'. They can't read Ukrainian, because it's a different language, even if at other times they pretend it's a dialect. And it is a fact that nearly all Ukrainians speak Russian, because they were forced to learn it in school, just as nearly all Irish speak English. That doesn't make an Irishman an Englishman.

Of course, neither I nor any Ukrainian I've ever heard of has claimed that they're "pure and white" or a "master race" or in any way better than other nations, though they do think (as I do) that Russians today - like Germans in the '30s and '40s - are a society of degenerate barbarians, much worse, than other nations, and properly compared to orcs. That has nothing to do with genetics, everything to do with culture.

The part about the Ukrainian Constitution is a particularly vile slander, that I have corrected before, but Jaq continues to repeat like some kind of paid propagandist. The line about protecting genrtic heritage in the constitution has nothing to do with race: it's about Chenobyl and the duty of the state to prevent genetic damage to citizens of all races.

Why Putin would be using his bombers to attack apartment houses, when such attacks would only benefit Ukraine's efforts to maintain support for the war is beyond me, a far simpler explanation is that Ukraine is lying about what the targets are in order to rally the population.

To be honest Weevil, I don't read most of your posts, after they go into well worn Ukrainian propaganda tropes, such as the Russian and Ukrainian languages are not related, or Russians and Ukrainians are not even racially similar, and yet Ukrainians still manage to circulate within Russia quite easily.

Apparently the number of confirmed bombers destroyed is around 10, not 40, as was initially claimed, or even 27. There is a lot of old video being repurposed to try to up the number, probably to convince Trump that it was a huge win, and it was a huge propaganda coup, but it is not going to change the war.

Blowing up the Kerch bridge, which will probably happen using German personnel and German missiles and US data, will be another huge propaganda coup, and will probably happen, but Russia has a land bridge which its military uses, so it will make no difference either.

Basically what this shows is that NATO will never be appeased until it has collapsed the Russian Federation and looted it, the way Europe looted Africa for centuries, and then it will have cut off China, which will be next, using Taiwan as a launch pad, same as Imperial Japan used it, when they called it Formosa.

This conflict will not stop, and I thought that Trump would be different, but I don't think that he is any different than Joe Biden on Ukraine. Maybe he has been intimidated by what they did to JFK, Nixon, and him in his first term, whatever. If he caves to Lindsey Graham and the ghost of John McCain and the Alexander Vindmans of the deep state, I will place my hopes in getting a peacenik Democrat into the White House next.; 2/6/25 01:10 PM

As for collapsing the Russian Federation, that is exactly what Biden, and now Trump, have been trying to avoid, by keeping Ukraine on a short leash, providing only just enough equipment to keep them from losing but not allow them to win, and restricting use of weapons provided. Ironically, they are going to accomplish exactly what they're trying to avoid. A short sharp war ending in Ukrainian victory and Russian withdrawal from all of Ukraine would have kept Russia intact, though Putin would not have survived. Now we're going to have the total collapse into dozens of newly-independent warring states, many of them ruled by actual neo-Nazis, and some of them with nukes.

Finally, you really need to apologize for claiming that the Ukrainian constitution has a racial-purity clause. One more time: it's about Chernobyl and pollution, and protecting the genes of all Ukrainians of all backgrounds from genetic damage.; 2/6/25 01:43 PM

Austin notes that, due to Ukraine's long reach utilizing potent drones (as indeed we just saw extended much further), Russia's strategic bomber force had previously been moved far away (but not far enough!) from Ukraine—up near the Barent's Sea and east of the Urals, where however they remain extremely vulnerable to U.S. (or really anybody's) attack and destruction—if Putin doesn't also accept the ceasefire and enter into peace negotiations. Whether he believes such a U.S. attack is likely—remember this is the “unpredictable” Trump he's confronting—is irrelevant; Putin must face the possibility of such a strike.
