"Mr. Boelter had served on a state economic board with one of the victims, State Senator John A. Hoffman, who survived the shooting, though it is unclear if they actually knew each other."

"Mr. Boelter was appointed to the panel, the Minnesota Governor’s Workforce Development Board, in 2016 by a Democratic former governor, Mark Dayton. The board has 41 members appointed by the governor, and its members try to improve business development in the state. He was later reappointed by Gov. Tim Walz, also a Democrat.... Governor Walz has said that the shooting 'appears to be a politically motivated assassination,' though the exact motive for the attack is not yet clear. Voters do not declare political affiliation when they register in Minnesota, and a state report connected to the work force board listed Mr. Boelter’s affiliation as 'none or other' in 2016. A similar report in 2020 listed him as having 'no party preference.' But David Carlson, a roommate and close friend of Mr. Boelter’s, said Mr. Boelter voted for Donald J. Trump last year and was particularly passionate about opposing abortion...."

I believe Carlson said those things after the shootings had taken place.

"U.S. Senator Tina Smith, Democrat of Minnesota, said in an interview that the gunman had a notebook with a list of names that included hers and those of other lawmakers, all of whom were Democrats. The list included about 70 potential targets, a federal law enforcement official said, including doctors, community and business leaders, and locations for Planned Parenthood and other health care centers. Some of the targets were in neighboring states."

Is Tina Smith the only source of this information? What's the basis of her knowledge? And why is the NYT presenting the information like that?

Surprise it both conflicts with and adds support to some prior reports. Initial police statements said the list was 70 political figures "of both parties." Note also there are many pro-life Democrats and pro-Abortion Republicans. Politics isn't as binary as the shitheaded analysis and spin this story is getting.

He was obviously a Democrat when appointed to the board by two Democrat governors. He's a Democrat. Maybe he even voted for Trump. But he's a Democrat. A DFL member. A lot of Democrats nationwide voted for Trump this last time. That's why he improved his performance in every single county in the country versus 2020.

That board has quite a few notable members. I think it is coincidental, but one current member of the board is Senator John Hoffman, whom Boelter shot yesterday. Boelter’s certificate of appointment is signed by Walz, “because of the special trust and confidence I have in your integrity, judgment, and ability.” I don’t suppose there is a reporter in the State of Minnesota who would have the temerity to ask Walz about his relationship with Boelter, and how Boelter came to receive that appointment.

Yes. There is a certain stink about this one. Police claim they got into a gunfight with this guy while he was inside a house.

Somehow he got away? Since when do cops not surround the place during a gunfight with a suspected murderer? He was thus free to kill others for 72 hours on the lam.

Next, they pulled over his fake(?) wife. He was living with another man, police say. She might be a beard. He certainly has that look of a gay man.

She had passports, cash, a weapon and ammunition. Inexplicably, they let her go with the cash, passports, weapon and ammunition. Every real cop would instantly arrest her "for her own protection" and as part of a multiple-homicide investigation, then hold her as bait/hostage and urge the shooter to turn himself in.

Where'd they find this guy after thousands of hours of overtime costs to the taxpayer?

At his house. Last place they looked.

There are journalism codes going back many generations about two independent, accreditable sources being used to verify facts before reporting. Over the last 10-20 years in particular, those codes have been generally abandoned.

On principle, I have no issue believing a right wing person assembled a hit list of 70 politicians and acted upon a desire to assassinate. We in that time where Luigi Mangione is celebrated, open talk of killing political enemies is broadly tolerated on the left, and the right has it's own broad unhinged population.

He may have opposed abortion, but there's little to no evidence he ever interacted with the prolife community.

The hit lit list that is available is not original, so we have to take it on faith that it's accurate; maybe Dan Rather thinks it's good. My state senator was purportedly on the list and she lives about a quarter mile from my house. We all know how the NYTs and DNC-MSM operates. If a shooter is a liberal/leftist his beliefs get obfuscated and buried. And the narrative "He was just a lone nut" it trumpted.

More from Dark Island's link.

"It first grabbed my attention as it became increasingly obvious the entire corporate media was avoiding saying one word in all the Boelter articles: UNEMPLOYED. So far as I can tell, Boelter’s been out of work since his government grant ran out four months ago and he returned from Congo as though a man possessed by a demon.
But here’s the question: How did Vance Boelter fund an apparently lavish lifestyle – marked by a large home, five children, weapons, at least 50$K in cash, disguises, and multiple vehicles (including a late-model SUV modified to look like a police car) – despite being unemployed? Where’d the money come from? It’s a conundrum, but don’t look to the media to quell the curiosity.
Available information provides tantalizing clues without any definitive answers, and the narrative around Boelter’s finances is muddled by conflicting hot takes and unverified claims. "

Peachy చెప్పారు...

"Boelter owned a rural home in Sibley County, MN, 60 miles southwest of Minneapolis. He reportedly purchased it with his wife for around $500,000 just a few years ago. It sits on 11 halcyon rural acres, far from neighbors. The property, described by some as a “million dollar estate”, suggests significant financial resources. And anyone who owns a home can imagine how much it costs to keep up. At least three businesses were registered at his address – none having offices or customers.

Boelter also bizarrely rented a room in North Minneapolis – a detail that screams STAGING HOUSE or COVER IDENTITY, but is being treated like a quirky footnote.

Reports mentions multiple vehicles, including a custom SUV (the one modified into a security /law enforcement vehicle), his wife’s car, and another expensive-looking auto found ‘abandoned’ near his home. The weapons and the disguises (like a latex mask and police-style ballistic vest) imply access to specialized, costly equipment."

Not finished !

Boelter said he’d worked in the food industry for decades, later took jobs in the “funeral services” (removing bodies from nursing homes and crime scenes) and pursued ‘agricultural projects’ in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Suddenly, late in life, he’s a world-traveling famer and crime scene cleanup specialist.
In other words, just like Ryan Routh, unaccountably unemployed. Swap the names and find the same breadcrumbs: combat skills without a clear source, deep financial resources without visible income, foreign training in sketchy locals, and no documented history of radical ideology – until suddenly, there is! Right at the crime scene!
For example: though the media is enthusiastically portraying him as a “deeply committed Christian”, there is no evidence that Boelter ever took theological training or even attended church. Nor did he post about religion on his accessible social media. In 2006, Boelter announced a “forthcoming” religious book ( still forthcoming) , and the announcement was nothing but a feel-good quasi-religious word salad without any theological substance.”

"Absent any “deep commitment” to actually writing his book, and lacking any apparent theology beyond superficial nobs to “our relationship with God” , my working hypothesis is that Boelter put this page up to support a grant application or establish a cover for travel. There are video online of his Congolese “sermons” and then seem equally calorie-free.

As for his “anti-abortion” status – if he was pro-life, it doesn’t appear in any of his published musings.
The well-worn phrase “follow the money” was famously coined by investigative journalists during the Watergate Scandal. It has long been considered the cornerstone of media scrutiny, guiding reports to uncover hidden motives and corruption by tracing financial trails. Yet, not only are the media failing to follow the money here, but they are also actively obscuring the Boelter’s employment and financial status.

Media reports obsess over Vance’s alleged anti-abortion extremism and the politically charged shootings, yet they consistently sidestep the glaring financial incongruity of a million-dollar Minnesota home, a custom Praetorian SUV, six figures in cash, and support for five children against his unclear job history and reported non-operation of Praetorian Guard Security Services.

The media are also ignoring his inexplicable combat training and that his isolated home and a nearby rented room are classic hallmarks of SECRECY. What would we do without media to tell us what to think? "

Regarding 7-Eleven; there are a large number of gas stations in the Twin Cities that are currently badged as Speedway; they were previously badged as SuperAmerica. 7-Eleven's parent company did acquire the SuperAmerica/Speedway stores about 3-4 years ago, but because the Speedway brand has equity in the Twin Cities, they haven't gone to the trouble and expense of rebranding the stations. I have seen pictures of Boelter representing SuperAmerica/Speedway; he apparently was an area manager of bakery operations for the stores. Similarly, the parent company of Circle-K owns a number of gas stations in the Twin Cities, which are badged as Holiday Stationstores; when you go into a Holiday you typically see everything in the store is badged as Circle-K, but they haven't changed the signage yet, and they might never do it because Holiday is a brand with a 50+ history in the area.

We note that you are running with another blood libel with absolutely no supporting evidence.

You are a truly dishonest person and your lies are meant to justify violence against your political opponents.

And we are also noticing that this shooter sure spent a lot of time with democrats and has a lot of unexplained money that the media is not interested in finding out where it came from.

You are not interested in the truth at all. You are an insect biting and stinging anything in reach.

You are absolutely incompatible with a free society.

Although I'm sure you aren't too upset about it. But have fun in you warped, nonsensical and absurd conspiracy theory world. Or maybe just go get a job and live a normal life like the rest of America...

If he was a Christian and held any of the beliefs you ascribe to him without evidence we would still call for him to be executed for his crimes.

Compare this to how leftists treat those who commit violence in their name.

This is why we can be a part of a free society and progressive/communists will always live under authoritarian rule.

Lets make something crystal clear right now.
No matter what the truth is (or what truth is being covered up, altered, vanished) this MN a-hole killed 2 innocent people.
And he almost killed another innocent couple who are, right now, – in the hospital probably enduring painful surgeries, with
months and months of healing and re-hab in their future.
I have nothing but sympathy for these people and their families. It is a horrible heinous violent crime.

YOU leftists LOVE that a Trump supporter was shot and killed by Ryan Routh - you love it. And YOUR relentless diseased mental-disorder nihilist hatred of Trump made you all feel bummed after Ryan Routh missed killing Trump.

That is why you all suck.

The NYT article was incorrect. Multiple news outlets, including CNN, ABC, and the Minnesota Star Tribune, have reported that the alleged shooter—57-year-old Vance Luther Boelter—left a list of names behind in his car that included abortion providers and advocates and figures with ties to Planned Parenthood, along with Democratic politicians.

That means that Governor Walz was correct about motive.

Peachy చెప్పారు...

Look - you leftist have your pez dispenser answers all neatly tied up in a bow:

"The guy was a MAGA!" - even though Trump has nothing to do with this guy.
YOUR Democrat governors - perhaps they never really knew him - but they re-appointed him. wow.
"This guy is a Christian fundamentalist!" OK - the info coming out looks like he was using that as a cover.
"He was anti-abortion!" - again - no one is showing us where that is? Apparently it's in the notebook - but it doesn't exist anywhere else.
odd.

Absolutely not.

First, I’m not even pro life.

Second I agree with Mangione and everything except for going out and murdering somebody in broad daylight. Our healthcare system is run by demons who are trying to make as much money as they can and I believe they are actually trying to make people as unhealthy as possible To make more money.

Third, we have no actual evidence of his political affiliation Other than a bunch of made up stories by leftists who’ve been lying about everything for the last 10 years.

Achilles చెప్పారు...

I want to amend my last comment to point out that the shooter has spent a lot of time in politics with Democrats. The shooter also has a lot of money that nobody can figure out where he got it from and lastly, his manifesto is being hidden and every reasonable source is being ignored as far as determining his political Affiliations.

The only evidence that’s being put out there by our media that has been caught lying about everything is unsubstantiated hearsay And they are studiously, ignoring his manifesto and past affiliations with Democrat governors.

I think it’s pretty safe to say we know what his political affiliations were because he is violent who he has been affiliated with in the past and the medias in curiosity with all of the obvious things that should be investigated.

Peachy చెప్పారు...

btw- Read every word I quoted... or read the link from DarkIsland.

Nowhere does it blame Democrats. No-where does it slander the good names of those were slaughtered by this horrible man. All it is, is information about the killer's life... info that is suspiciously absent in any reporting. Why ? we already know based on past history that the media work for one party - and that party's narratives.
No curiosity needed.
The media have their marching orders - and that is to blame all of this on Trump. Nothing new.

Achilles చెప్పారు...

Governor Walz, you appointed this man to a commission and you wrote him a glowing letter of recommendation for his service there. Could you please disclose any correspondence you have had with this person so that we can determine his motivation. We assume that you did some kind of background check when you hired him to be on these commissions.

Achilles చెప్పారు...

The manifesto is in the hands of Minnesota officials. The manifest to serve the purposes of the Minnesota officials we know it would Be leaked at a minimum if not, read out loud on the news every day every hour, if this guy was actually in anyway associated with the mega movement.

We know why the manifesto is not being released like we know whether a killer white or not if they race is mentioned in the story.

People on the political left need to understand that nobody trust you anymore. Nobody likes you anymore. You are utterly predictable and as you continue to act in these dishonest underhanded ways and spread these obvious blood libels more and more people are just coming to the conclusion that you need to go.

People are tired of your lies and your violence.

This is what a stupid person would say.

I will separate this post into 2 parts. 1 part for morons like Mark and a second for everyone else.

Part 1:

Mangionne should be executed. Publicly. Video of the execution replayed to 6th graders for a generation to drive home the point that our society does not tolerate political violence.

Boelter should be executed. Publicly. Video of the execution replayed to 6th graders for a generation to drive home the point that our society does not tolerate political violence.

The United Health Care CEO should have been investigated and prosecuted for a litany of crimes for his involvement with the COVID vaccines that he made millions off of and are killing people right now.

Part 2. Now we get to the part where Mark can stop reading because people under 90 IQ wont make it much farther.

White collar crime is woefully under investigated and under prosecuted in our country. I understand that this will inevitably lead to victims of their crime lashing out. Additionally The Federal Reserve and a coterie of associated Oligarchs have made many facets of American life unaffordable through dishonest and frankly disgusting means. They should all be executed too.

The line between order and chaos in society is drawn down the middle of every human heart. We all have good and evil inside us.

The purpose of society is to provide space for people to live according to the type of society you want. If you want a free high trust society then you must vest the monopoly of violence in an authority trusted by a critical mass of people who live in society.

People like Mangionne, Boelton, and any number of CEO's in the health care industry including the one that was shot and doing things that are incompatible with a free high trust society.

Mangionne acted because society failed to hold scumbags to account. If we continue to fail to hold these scumbags to account the inevitable result will be people deciding they do not need to abide by the rules of society.

Almost every member of congress in both parties is a scumbag who is making money in a variety of scumbag ways just like the Health Care industry executives. The longer they are allowed to do this the more trust in society's rules erode and this leads inevitably to Mangionne and Boelter.

If you want to stop this sort of violence then you need to understand all facets of the problem and create a system that punishes the behavior you do not want.

Peachy చెప్పారు...

This is insane. We now learn that Minnesota Police just stood by and watched as Vance Boelter murdered Rep. Hortman in her home.

What. How is this possible?

Minnesota Law Enforcement Officials just reported that that two Minnesota Police officers were already on the scene *watching* before killer Vance Boelter ever stepped inside Rep. Hortman's house. They saw the killer in the driveway wearing a halloween mask and fake police uniform and engaged him. Then after a short firefight the Police sat and WATCHED as Boelter entered the home, killed the Rep. and her husband and then the police let him escape out the back. All of this after Senator Hoffman was already reported gunned down.

The police didn’t stop him. This is obscene. Again, Minnesota Police stood by, let Boelter commit the murders, and escaped out the back. WHAT!?

Nothing here makes sense. Dark and disturbing...
