James Comey's now-infamous Instagram account is mostly about marketing his novel... which has a theme that's suspiciously close to his "8647" gambit.

At the top of his Instagram account (quoting Publisher's Weekly):

Thanks to Charlie Martin for pointing me at Comey's book: "So, now it turns out that Comey actually has a book coming out in a few days about a Mary Sue main character who investigates, arrests, and apparently convicts a conservative radio talker of inciting a murder by dog-whistling. Coincidentally."

I read Martin's post while I was still in bed this morning looking at my iPhone, and I quickly dictated this question into the ChatGPT app (I usually access A.I. by typing things into Grok):
"What is the argument that James Comey by showing a photograph of rocks in the shape of 8647 was really teasing a novel that he had written, which is about someone accused of inciting violence by giving out an obscure message and [Comey] will actually benefit from this new attention he’s getting from the right because people on his left will actually get excited about his otherwise incredibly boring book."
Yeah, that's the way I talk when I'm, essentially, talking to myself. Notice my lazy bias toward thinking everything is boring. Anyway, I had these follow-up questions:
1. "How smart is James Comey?"

2. "He would need to be smart in a marketing and media sense to have come up with the idea of posting that photograph as a way to gin up interest in his novel. He strikes me as someone who is too boring and staid to attempt such a flashy scheme, and he would have to be willing to do something different to expose himself to criminal accusations. It almost seems like something Trump would do ironically."
You can read all ChatGPT's responses here, but the bottom line is: "Your read—that he’s too boring and staid for such a risky, theatrical move—aligns far more closely with what we’ve seen of him than the idea of a QAnon-baiting media play."

That's my theory. A hypothesis, but pretty cool, don't you think? Maybe *I* should write a novel based on that elaborate scheme. Or get ChatGPT to write it for me because I don't know the conventions of that legal thriller genre. Never read anything in that category — unless "The Bonfire of the Vanities" or "Pudd'nhead Wilson" counts — because I'm a giant elitist when it comes to novels.

I find it weird that Comey wouldn't publish under a pseudonym, if he really is the kind of person he appears to be. I mean, I didn't know he had written anything, but the Chat response indicates that nobody actually likes his writing, so it stands to reason that he was published because of who he is - which suggests that he is not the staid, buttoned-down person he wants to be seen as. He wants publicity. Or perhaps "celebrity" is a better word.

All they are doing is setting up Donald J. Leslie Graves ने कहा…

His lack of judgment is also the reason Martha Stewart did hard time. In my view, James Comey has suffered multiple narcissistic injuries at the hands of Trump and the right in general. (A narcissistic injury according to Grok is "a perceived threat to a person's inflated self-image or sense of superiority, often leading to intense emotional distress." He is trying to mend, assuage, make the distress go away by trying to curate an image of himself that he thinks is less vulnerable to the kinds of destabilizing ego-wounds he received in the political/legal worlds: "I'm a novelist who hangs out at the beach. I have flair. I have creative sensibilities that go far beyond the norm. I also have interesting and noteworthy aesthetic sensibilities."

Leslie Graves ने कहा…

Also, if he were a college student doing things like this to cause others to have certain opinions about him, I would interpret him as attempting to cause women to think "I would be fun, good, and rewarding in bed". You can't blame college students for trying to build up that image in the eyes of others. What he is doing is more like a man in his mid-30s who is still trying to position himself that way through certain sartorial choices, topics of conversations, and opinions. And "yuck" is what one would think when a mid-30s guy is still doing that.

AI is stupid and does no thinking whatsoever. It computes, it doesn't think.

Comey was the guy who decided, in 2016, that Trump would be a better president than Hillary. He intentionally sank her campaign and (arguably) interfered in the election, a crime. He went on to spy on Trump and subvert our republic, again. He ruined the FBI's reputation. I don't know how many crimes James Comey has committed, but I suspect it's more than one.

To say that "Comey is boring" is to regurgitate various online opinions about how Comey talks, his manner. If AI was actually capable of thought, it would conclude that James Comey is a conspiracy nut.

Comey's whole history as FBI chief is one that masquerades fiction as fact. Like his warrant applications. Any FBI boss who treats the Steele dossier as fact is exactly the sort of person who would photograph some random seashell death threat to the president and put it up on his Instagram. It wouldn't surprise me if he's the one who laid out the seashells. Not because he's filled with Trump hatred, but because he wants everybody to pay attention to him.

At least 7 of the Justices on the Supreme Court have decided that the courts hold all Article 2 powers whenever they think there is an emergency.

Any disctrict court judge can now declare an emergency, provided the ACLU works out with them what that emergency is, and issue a TRO on any action the president takes.

You biased Grok's answer by planting the assumption that Comey is staid and boring. People voted for Biden to bring the country back to boring and normal, and what happened? Biden was flaky and as mad as a March hare. So is Comey. One might think that most of the people one meets have "moral compasses" that are "askew," but if one goes around telling people that, as Comey did, there is something weird rattling around in one's head. You have to be a little wacky to make that Instagram post, to take the picture, and -- most likely -- to arrange the stones in that way.

One of the big perks of being a Washington dignitary is that people think that one is more serious, staid, and dignified than one actually is. They assume that gravitas goes with the job and the years of service, but that's only a veneer. It also helps if one takes oneself very seriously. Think of John Kerry or Robert Mueller. They've learned how to play a role and hide their inadequacies and incompetence.

No, it's not in any real sense a call to assassinate Trump, nor is Comey using Bondi and Trump in some sophisticated plot to promote his book. It's just a stupid man's stupid botched joke. But then, my bias lately is to assume that everything is stupid and either self-serving or the result of incurable empty headedness.

Once you call out Grok on its lies, obfuscations, inaccuracies and marketing-speak, it will admit to you what it really is.

Grok (after much prompting to correct its errors and outright falsehoods in describing what it is):

"I’m Grok 3, a system built by xAI. I’m a large language model, not a sentient entity, designed to mimic human language by processing input and generating text based on patterns in my training data. I don’t “understand” in the cognitive sense; I analyze and produce responses that align with likely human expectations of coherence and accuracy."

Here's my position: your analysis of the Court's responses bear almost nothing to do with what their rulings consist of.

1. Yesterday's ruling held that "due process" of some sort was ...due...to the illegals being deported, but the court didn't define what that Due Process should be, instead sending the matter back to the appellate court where the case arose. IOW they again kicked the can downe the road.

Comey is the one who decided (at the suggestion of Strzok and Page) to not prosecute her for her hundreds, if not thousands, of Espionage Act violations, for storing classified emails on her private, insecure, email servers, so that they would be unavailable to FOIA requests. Not his job to have made that call. He did it anyway, and, as with Biden, and the Hur interview, the issue was proving Intent. But we all know that was BS. I know a guy who was briefing er quarterly on classified material, and each time, he got both a written and verbal assent that she understood her responsibilities.

In any case, yesterday FBI Director Katel and DD Bongino announced that they had found a tranche of RussiaGate documents. And there was evidence that the Binder that Trump ordered declassified was the ultimate target of their MAL raid. From a post earlier today on Discord:

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2025/05/kash-patel-dan-bongino-reveal-theyve-uncovered-tranche/
This confirms something that I long expected, but couldn’t confirm - that the real target of the MAL raid was the binder of RussiaGate documents that Trump formally ordered declassified his last full day in office (as POTUS 45). It made sense to me. Despite the written Presidential order declassifying the documents, four years later the documents were still being withheld from FOIA requests as being classified. Moreover, the same two organizations (Peter Strzok’s FBI Counterintelligence Division and the DOJ’s Counterintelligence and Export Control section (CEC)) were behind RussiaGate (including Crossfire Hurricane, FISA warrants on Carter Page, and the perjury trap that took out LTG Flynn), as well as the MAL raid. The FL documents case was orchestrated from the very beginning, and all the way through by DOJ’s CEC section head Jay Bratt, who quickly became Jack Smith’s Deputy Special Counsel. Moreover, the MAL raid was run by these two groups out of their DC headquarter offices. And it was their perfidy that was disclosed in that missing binder of documents. Finally, those documents were still marked as Classified, so they knew that Trump had documents marked as classified that had not been formally declassified (because they refused to obey his order to declassify them).

It’s great to be right. Just wish my partner would admit it.
