To me, the coverup of Joe Biden’s decline was worse in terms of consequence, than the claim George W Bush (the son) went AWOL from the Texas National Guard. That fake news report was enough to get Dan Rather sacked from CBS News. So far it looks like Tapper is keeping his crapper show at CNN.
The funny thing about Tapper is that a while back, a long while back, he was actually a decently honest and unbiased reporter.
Who would know better about the media coverup of Biden's mental decline than one of the media people who lied about his mental decline?

Anyone who has had to deal with someone who has had cognitive issues develop later in their life could instantly recognize Joe Biden had and has a problem. Jake Tapper is an incredibly manipulative person. Also, the faces he made in that clip are contemptible.

CNN is run by David Zaslav (not quite a billionaire, but close). He was one of the largest donors to Nancy Pelosi's Victory Fund and the Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee. That is his politics.
He pays Jake Tapper $11,000 ... every day ... to read whatever is put in front of him.
Would you turn down that kind of a bribe? Maybe you would, but most people would not turn down that kind of a payday for their families to read a bunch of DNC press releases on the air.

Funny how Rightwingers always alternate between believing their favorite Leftwing media figures are acting in good faith, and are "Confused, but Good Guys" and being outraged at their "Hypocrisy" and double-standards. Why not just accept reality? Tapper isn't a hypocrite. He thinks his job is pushing the Leftwing party line. Which means their is no consistent principle except helping the Democrat party and the Left.
As for Tapper writing the book, who better to whitewash and minimize the dishonesty. They cant deny Biden was senile, so have the book about it written by someone who will hit soft and make excuses.
Personally, I thought the 2020 campaign showed Biden was unfit for office. How many press conferences did he have? He hid from the press. His performance in the debates was awful, even though the "moderators" were acting as his debate partners and he was given the questions in advance.
Biden just shows, like FDR IN 1944-45, you don't really need a fully healthy POTUS, just someone who can work a couple hours a day, and read off a script.
Nixon, they say, had a cover-up. Reporters were coming after him -- that is, to say, his enemies in the bureaucracy were leaking to the media -- so Nixon felt he had to bury the tracks leading from the Watergate break-in back to the White House.
Was there really a "cover-up" of Biden's increasing senility? It was there for all to see, and the mainstream media didn't ask about it or report it. They even went out of their way to deny it. Biden's cognitive decline was "hiding in plain sight." No cover-up was necessary -- or if there was a cover-up it was Tapper and the rest of the legacy media that was doing it.
Is that book cover supposed to harken back to Janet Jackson on the cover of the Rolling Stone?
It is reasonable to infer from this book that Jake Tapper believes it is, now, widely accepted that Biden has significant cognitive issues. So is the purpose of him writing this book to try and rehabilitate his own brand and that of CNN? Or is it try to try and protect other people, in the media, government, and government-adjacent industries?

Worst position? Not hardly! He was right in the middle of it and knows everything that happened, every agreement that was reached behind the scenes, who issued the talking points that he and every other member of the mainstream newsmedia used (right down to identical wording), etc. No, I would say that he's in the ideal position ... providing he tells the truth about what went on, which he obviously won't.

Most "seniors" (formerly known as "old farts", which I personally prefer) know about cognitive decline. We observed it in our older friends and relatives, and we recognized it in ourselves when it crept in on little cat feet [quick: Who wrote that poem?]. But I doubt if there was EVER a time when Biden was mentally sharp. He always lied about his academic and intellectual accomplishments. I never understood why Obama picked him for VP. Obama had no reason to feel insecure about his own intellect (his judgment was his achilles heel). He supposedly said never to forget Joe's ability to f*ck things up.
