If that were the case, then the word following Trump would be "racist" rather than the word "racist" briefly replacing Trump. Furthermore, if the AI is predicting the next word, then the next word would be most likely be a verb.

I just tested this.Sometimes it would flash "Trump" before typing racist, sometimes it just would just type racist, a few times it flashed "you" before switching to racist.I kept switching the person I was texting and switched up my voice with my teen.Inconsistent, but not fixed. Clearly done deliberately.
This is NOT mischief or error by some smart-ass low level person. Apple has some serious contracts with the Feds and since Trump took over, Tim Cook has been going out of his way to make nice.

"Racist" has long since lost any meaning it might have had. Now it's just an all-purpose slur which is short for "I don't like you". My stock answer to being called a racist is "So what? Isn't everybody?"

It is my firm belief that a large cohort of Americans never mature past high school. Data from the American Psychiatric Association seems to back this up when you look at nationwide prescription rates. The person at Apple that did this probably has a 120 IQ, is in their 40s, and has the emotional intelligence of a high school sophomore.
The mistake everyone's been making is "not taking it to their level". "Their level" is all they understand, and it's easier for someone civilized to be a barbarian than a barbarian to be civilized. That's why Trump drove them insane. They make juvenile little insults and throw playground sand, throw it right back at them.

Pondering the matter further, it would certainly be possible -- trivially easy, for a programmer -- to make it display "Trump", and then switch to "racist", so quickly that you would not be consciously aware of the first image. Indeed, that is what "subliminal" means. So, I dunno. If this is intentional, the plan is a bit murky.
