Just so you know, Arnold Palmer did not like Trump. He hated golf cheats. "If a guy is going to cheat you on the golf course he's going to cheat you in business."

It was hard to match Obama's transcript with his lip movements--it didn't look real to me. It was funny, but mean-spirited. Like Trump is trying to make Obama regret being personable and pleasant.
I'll take the "transcript" and enjoy it. But nice to see that at least one of the Never Trumpers is still posting here. Keeps them off the streets and out of mischief so to speak.
Over the summer, I spent an afternoon with a sports writer who once accompanied Bill Clinton on the golf course. He said Bill was a shameless cheater. Nobody really cared.
It may not be accurate but it certainly seemed right - fake but accurate.
This video looks fake. But in the real video, it absolutely looks like Obama said "I'm glad you won," which was immediately followed with an icy glare from Kamala. So who knows what the hell is going on...

Community notes: there is no record of Arnold Oalmer quoted as saying Donald Trump cheated. At most Palmer’s daughter said that her dad hadn’t liked Trump.

In the title of the post, "whether than" probably should be "whether that."
Something to remember among all the cut and thrust of vile partisanship is that Trump and Obama are members of a very exclusive club. Five members and one of them is insensate. Perhaps oddly, I would bet Trump finds Obama the least personally objectionable.
Clinton is a pedophile, bush is a jerk, Obama is gay but Trump doesn’t care about that.

I played golf in Vegas and my caddy had been Bill's caddy just a few days before. He said Bill cheated a lot and gave himself gimmies on 20 foot putts and the like. As the caddy was tallying up Biil's score, a SS agent came up and said "Just give him an 83. He always gets an 83." My first time on the course. Played by the rules. Score? 83!

There's cheating and there's "cheating". If you're playing for a trophy or have a wager, there are rules that must be followed.
If you're out for the fresh air and companionship and the enjoyment of sinking a six-footer now and then, rules are more 'personal'. In fact, if you blast a drive 250 yards right down the middle and think you 'have to' hit it out a deep gouge in the earth left by another golfer, you are a bit anal and probably not a very happy person.
Both Obama and Trump were in professions, litigator and real estate salesman, where they made bs small talk as part of the job even before politics.
