Elton John has "always been friendly towards" Donald Trump, because Donald Trump has always been a fan of his.

And he thought calling Kim Jong Un “Little Rocket Man” was "hilarious" and "brilliant":

In other news: Elton John is dead to liberals, though the think pieces on it have not yet been written

Not quoted: "Urges People to Vote for a ‘Calmer, Safer’ America"

This is a call to vote for Trump. There were no wars when Trump was President. Now the US is embroiled in wars with Russia and the HAMAS terrorist organization and is funding Iran (which launders our tax dollars to Hezbollah.)

So I'm sure that Elton John will be voting for Donald Trump, rather than the Harris warmongers that George W. "Weapons of Mass Destruction" Bush and Dick "Haliburton" Cheney and Inga are going to vote for.

As much as I would love for Elton to vote for DJT, I dont believe he is a citizen of the United States. However, that hasn't stopped tens of thousands of voters before. Maybe he can mail his ballot in.

That was way too normal to be real. Are the waters of polarization starting to recede?

He’s a tough get. Can’t troll for a CBF sex scandal type. Maybe he used a homophobic slur back in the day? I’m sure he has an organizational overlap with Rowling somewhere…

Donald Trump attended Elton John's wedding when Barack Obama was still saying it should be illegal.

Elton John sang at Rush Limbaugh’s wedding reception.
"To put it in Elton's exact words, when he got the invitation, he was 'a little surprised,' " his husband, David Furnish, told PEOPLE in 2010, days after the wedding. "And then, when it turned out to be a genuinely sincere invitation Elton said, 'Life is about building bridges, not walls.' "
Limbaugh said John remembered his agent saying, "Well, I know you won't want to do it. How do you want to handle it?" John replied, "Oh, no, no! I do. I most certainly do want to do this."
John ended up performing for about 80 minutes, closing with "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?" from The Lion King. Guests also received a copy of his greatest-hits album.
John's husband later said the Limbaughs "were incredibly gracious and very welcoming and very sweet and very appreciative."

Well Elton John was also friendly to Rush Limbaugh. Elton John is liberal. He doesn't agree with conservatism, but he's no Marxist/Socialist calling for the cancellation of anyone who disagrees with him. Nor are Trump and Rush right wing religious zealots that want gays thrown from the top of the highest building. This is what used to be considered normal political discourse but is now labeled as "weird".

Dixcus said...

It is Elton's "call" to vote for Trump. He of course cannot vote himself. He refused to endorse the warmonger Kamala Harris according to Variety.

"Is it going to be fire and brimstone … or are we going to have a much calmer, a much safer place?" Elton wondered, recalling Dick Cheney.

It should be noted that Cheney is not exactly a safe or non-volatile person to hang out with. You could get peppered right in your face.

Trump came out for gay marriage LONG BEFORE the Democrats finally did.

Ann Althouse said...

Elton John didn't endorse Trump for President. He just approved of the use of "Rocket Man" and appreciates Trump's love of his music. By the way, Elton John didn't write the lyrics.

I suspect his attitude my also be influenced by the massive checks he writes to the British and US Treasuries out of his very hard-earned income. Think Michael Caine.

Favorite Elton John song? I might go with the chessy toe tapper with Kikki Dee "Don't Go Breaking My Heart". The teen me in1983/1984 related to "Guess That's Why They Call it the Blues". Cheers all. Gotta go maske money.

Progressives still cry that he performed at Rush Limbaughs wedding. They were friends too. Elton knows the fake gay hate is a made up Progressive lie that Progressives use to divide us.

Elton John said it’s OK to like Trump. That’s a level of endorsement the insiders have worked hard to deny him.

Oh no! The corrupt mob left to come after ... Elton John.
Perhaps he too should be on a terror watch list - and harassed at airports.

You must obey the corrupt authoritarian Maddow/Schitt left!

Peachy said...

Correct me if I am wrong - but didn't Elton play at Rush Limbaugh's wedding? many many years ago - when Rush re-married.

Maybe he just doesn't want to alienate half his potential audience. Or maybe liberals are deeply disturbed by the anti-semitism of the left and are wondering about other people the left wants them to hate, such as MAGA. Maybe the assassination attempt disturbs regular people who are on the left but not that left, not violence. Or maybe all regular liberals are affected by the same deep ocean currents that have brought RFK, Jr. and Tulsi into the Trump camp while Dick Cheney and Putin have floated into Shamalot. High above it all, reason looks down, like the stranded astronauts, and wonders how and when it will return to earth.
Help reason escape. The "deplorables" are just people being smeared by the left in a power grab. Consider the possibility.

Donald Trump used to have lots of liberal friends, but as it turns out, some of them are pretty fair-weather, as might be unsurprising at that social stratum. Elton John gets lots of points for consistency and actually being a friend. Maybe 'not allowed to vote' took a load off, or maybe John is just more level-headed than most.

Aggie said...

Dick Cheney, on the other hand.... Taken by itself, this is culturally the most un-Americanish election I ever recall seeing. The polarization has become more extreme, but at the same time, the polarization blob is shape-shifting into new territory, taking on different, but still undefined, boundaries.

Nobody would have thought this possible just a few years ago, but having lived through the slowly advancing tide - first his Republican daughter, hated by Republicans, and then the father - both openly switching allegiance to a candidate across the aisle that they both dislike, and supposedly disagree with on deeply-held principles, all apparently in the name of warmongering and international policy. But these international policy ideas remain unstated and held close. We're just supposed to believe and follow their lead. Meanwhile, the same Democrat domestic policies they were so adamantly opposed to a short time ago, the policies they have averred will drive the country into desperate ruin, are suddenly less important, too trivial to mention. Open borders? Meh.

That these lifelong GOPe stalwarts would do this, in desperation, to diminish the chances of Trump being elected, is bizarre beyond the pale. They may as well be renouncing their Christianity and converting to pagan sacrifice, but in a normal, reasonable tone of voice.

Sheesh, just the other day Trump complained that children go to school, disappear a couple of days, and come home with a different gender. And you are trying to tell us that gay hate is fake and made up by progressives?

ahahahahaa. Kamala is? Good gravy. It's not about Conservative v liberal anymore anyway. It's about mob-like government grifters. Like the Cheney's, the Biden's and soon to be Kamala.

Amexpat said...

That's the way it should be - there's no need to demonize or cancel people of differing political views. I remember that Chrissie Hynde was asked why she allowed Rush to use one of her songs as his intro. She replied that she gave all the money , about 100 K, to PETA, a charity Rush despised.

Aggie said...

Freder I certainly hope you're only pretending to be this dense.

boatbuilder said...

Well that explains why nobody knows what the line after "Rocket Man" in the chorus is. (Or didn't until you could look them up on this internet thing).

boatbuilder said...

Aggie--agree 100 percent. Strange days indeed.

Dixcus said...

Elton effectively endorsed Trump by a) refusing to endorse Kamala Harris and b) urging voters to help us return to a time when the United States isn't ginning up wars around the planet to prop up a failing economy.

“I just hope that people make the right decision to see what the future is going to be. Is it going to be fire and brimstone … or are we going to have a much calmer, a much safer place?"

When Trump was President, the Middle East was signing peace accords, Russia wasn't invading anybody and Iran wasn't getting billion-dollar pallets of US taxpayer cash.

Calling KIm Rocket Man is what set Kim to thinking what's going on, and made a deal possible. Trump offered an Atlantic City on the sea as part of the deal. that Kim took. China queered the deal, is all. It was otherwise another Abraham Accord.

This is what the Fall of an illegitimate Regime looks like.

They are no longer able to uperson people who speak positively of the opposition.

You now gain social status in the United States if you are persecuted by the Regime and it's followers. Getting cancelled by the left helps you attain success now.

I think she also said something to the effect of she had never heard much about Rush Limbaugh ( I think she was living in the UK so it is plausible.) But she did know that her Father listened to the show and liked it.

My brother in NYC always found it hilarious when Springsteen smacked down NJ Governor Christie, one of his biggest fans. Personally I thought it showed a lack of grace and class. So good on Elton for dealing with people like humans.

JaimeRoberto said...

The sound you hear is dozens of MSM journalists working on their "What happened to Elton John?" opinion pieces.

Eva Marie said...

There was a point when the license to use the intro was about to expire. Someone told Rush that Hynde could refuse to let him use her music. For about a week he was casting about for different intros. Several lawyers contacted him, informing him that she couldn’t stop him from using that intro. And so it stayed.

And you are trying to tell us that gay hate is fake and made up by progressives?

Are you thugs trying to tell us 'progressives' aren't in favor of lopping off kids' body parts and drugging them up so they can change their gender? And then calling us a bunch of hateful bigots for pointing out how insane that is?

John said...

The answer to the best Elton John song is, of course, Honky Cat:

They said, get back, honky cat
Better get back to the woods
But, I quit those days and my redneck ways
And, oh, change is gonna do me good

Yes, Bernie Taupin wrote the lyrics. But it's still a great song.
