A fairy garden for Kamala.
"This is something people do around here. There's a name for it, I think, but I've forgotten what it is — if I ever knew" — I wrote, back in 2021. Commenters told me what it is: a "fairy garden."

I have a fairy garden, it gives me such a lift to see parents stop by with strollers, or see little ones in the neighborhood stooping down to rearrange things. So ya, I have a few fairies, but I also have a grotto where the Virgin Mary is appearing, saints and angels. And a tiny fairy cathedral off in the distance. A little counter culture messaging.

I always thought of Faeries as trickster characters. I think a fairy would much prefer the unexpectedness, spontaneity, and the chaos of Trump over the boring, fake, plasticness of Kamala.

Maybe it's a hobbit house, though it's suggestive, with the rock path, something like a crypt. Which is appropriate for someone saturated with loony lefty fever.

A fairy garden is appropriate since the Greatness of Kamala is a a total fairy tale. I do wonder if the little person who created the political garden earnestly thanks her mother every night before bed for not aborting her. Kind of like a prayer, if they believed in that stuff.
