A dark-horse contender in the VP race offers a new — better? — concept than weird: Bewildered!

Out with Tim Walz and his "weird." It's JB Pritzer and he's got a new word to sell you: "bewildered."

I'm reading: "Pritzker says Trump 'bewildered' by Harris, new Dem excitement" (The Hill).

Now, I'd written Pritzker off. I just didn't think it could be him. But he's jumping to the top of the headlines at Memeorandum, and I am tantalized by his use of a single word, a funny word — "bewildered" — so I'll bite:

“Kamala Harris is the perfect person at this moment.... We’ve got the kind of palpable excitement, the energy, that we really need in the party to carry us to victory in November, and of course Donald Trump is, I think, bewildered by it all. I don’t know that he has any idea how to handle the excitement that’s happening on the Democratic side, or Kamala Harris herself."

Handle the excitement? Donald Trump? I think he can handle excitement. He's the guy that got shot in the ear and jumped up and posed iconically, didn't take a day off, and returned to the rally stage in a giant arena.

But maybe he has trouble understanding what's going on here. How did Biden, still the President (it seems!), get squelched and replaced by this woman who never won any primary votes and didn't even seem at all popular, but is somehow riding high in the media as "the perfect person at this moment"?

Yes, there's almost something wrong with you if you're not bewildered.

By the way, isn't "bewildered" the other side of "weird"? The perceiver is bewildered. The thing perceived is weird.

Also, if it's JB Pritzer, we'd have — in the VP race — JB and JD. That's ever so mildly amusing.

Lame.

Pritzer would be a good pick. He's intimately familiar with hopeless government debt.

Pritzker's Chicago is so wrecked even the black people are looking to flee it. He has a lot of money, but I see the hand of Obama here. Harris/ Biden would have to be under very serious pressure to make him VP, yet Pritzker looks to be putting out hits on Shapiro.

I'm betting on Pritzker.

JB is way too fat. He should have gone on the Pompeo diet years ago if he wanted national office.

And isn't he Jewish? Hamas wing of the Dems won't be happy.

I don't really care who Harris picks for VP. Just excited to see JD dismantle the loser in a debate.

Both gross and weird. Though he fits Democrat preferences. Surprised the Sopranos didn't give him a starring role,

I'm betting on Pritzker.

The financial corruption and crime in both California and Illinois would make a Harris/Pritzker the perfect "nail in the coffin ticket" for America's destruction. The corrupt pension debt in IL is enough to bankrupt the state.

I'd say Pritzker was #1 when it came to totalitarian COVID lockdowns and never ending extensions of emergency orders. Luckily in WI we had a conservative Supreme Court at the time, or Tony Evers and his ilk would have done the same to us.

Bewildered, as in, perplexed and confused; very puzzled. Yes, I also see absolutely zero reason, other than avoiding a certain loss in Novermber with some expediency in exchange for a probable loss (unless mail in ballot harvests by Dems again achieve a record crop), for the excitement of the Dems about Harris. I suspect the Dems's excitement would be just as palpable and bewildering were the nominee on the ballot a bucket of warm spit as long as there was a better possibility of winning the election than with Biden.

All Trump need do is continue to present his messages of border security, economic sanity, foreign policy strength, and federal government constitutionalism to win in November. With, of course, a record crop of harvested mail in ballots by the Repubs.

From John Dryden (1631–1700), The Poems of John Dryden. Translations/The Beginning of the Second Book of Lucretius:

"’TIS pleasant, safely to behold from shore
The rowling Ship, and hear the Tempest roar:
Not that anothers pain is our delight;
But pains unfelt produce the pleasing sight.
’Tis pleasant also to behold from far
The moving Legions mingled in the War:
But much more sweet thy lab’ring steps to guide
To Vertues heights, with wisdom well supply’d,
And all the Magazins of Learning fortifi’d:
From thence to look below on humane kind,
Bewilder’d in the Maze of Life, and blind:
To see vain fools ambitiously contend

For Wit and Pow’r; their last endeavours bend
T’ outshine each other, waste their time and health
In search of honour, and pursuit of wealth."

Honestly I agree that Pritzker is way too fat. True it is folks on the left that tend to make up the Body Positivity and Healthy At Any Size groups, but an unsaid rule of those groups is that those fat acceptance mantras only really apply to women. They may not say it loudly but too many people who are potential Democratic voters will look at Pritzker and get the ick because of his rotundity.

I am personally familiar with the late Bob Pritzker's side of the family (JBs cousins). They are nice people, generally non-political, but truly weird. Bob was a billionaire in the 60's and made his money through hard work and shrewd investments. JB's dad (Bob's brother) was also an excellent businessman. However, that side of the family is very political.

JB and his cousins became billionaires the old fashioned way - they inherited. None of them could run a business or even organize a two car funeral on their own.
