"I don't think you wanna play the crowd game. Donald Trump can draw big crowds. There's no question about that."
Biden briefly tried to change the subject to the kind of people Donald Trump draws:
"He can draw a big crowd, but what does he say? Who-- who does he have?"
Yeah, who are those people who go to Trump rallies? At least he caught himself before making some sort of miserable "deplorables" remark.
Meanwhile, here's a view of Biden's audience yesterday (on TikTok).
66 comments:
That's a decent turn out for a school assembly.
Invited guests, or paid participants?
Maybe it's just the pictures that got small.
A cat video? You linked me to a cat video?
BTW, is it true that the Biden advance team made no provision to get the local media representatives to his event? I guess the Biden team is frightened of all those hard right journalists in Madison and Milwaukee.

That video is a cheap fake. They edited out the left side of the rally. People stretched out for miles.
A Watseka vs Hoopeston HS basketball game gets a bigger crowd than that.
I'm sure Steph pushed back on the crowd size just to retain a semblance, a thin veneer of you will, of "journalistic credibilty" to the viewers.
I had a bigger crowd at my bar mitzvah.
The foreign elite in charge of the Democrats have a BIZARRE desire to prove they are "popular" when they are the furthest thing from. In reality Trump can draw crowds even in Brooklyn. Outside, they can easily fill anything short of a professional football stadium, and he headlines these events at least once every two weeks. Sometimes twice a week!
The foreigners might try to glom onto Trump for the sake of their agenda, but I don't think it's going to work.
A small crowd the size of a large crowd.
Who wants to bet that most of those people were public sector workers who were paid to be there.
It's as if the left wants to make those on the right sub-human or something. When your opposition is an evil nazi bigot creature, you can easily justify anything.
After a few years volunteering for GOP candidates in Michigan, I was surprised that almost all the Democrat "volunteers" were paid by the unions.
I don't think you wanna play the crowd game.
How many times did Stephi steer him away from danger?
IIRC, the event was held in a junior high school gymnasium.
That's a huge venue when you are used to campaigning from your basement in Wilmington.
I don't think he was going for a 'deplorables' remark. I think it was far more likely that he wanted to boast about the celebrities that headline his fundraisers but blanked on the names. That's more in keeping with his grandiose vision of his ability to pull support. The generic people in a middle school gym aren't his concern.
The fact that Biden would boast about that kind of a crowd size when his opponent regularly draws thousands upon thousands to his rallies is further proof of Joementia's dementia.
“Yeah, who are those people who go to Trump rallies?“
✋🏼
You sleep with one.
Nevermind. I refreshed the page and got a video of a pretty modest-sized crowd. I clicked on it to enlarge and got a video of a young brunette in a tight top. Back arrow and I got the small crowd. Click again to enlarge and got a young man who thinks he’s a commedian.
Tik Tok hates me.
The feeling is mutual.
And you may find yourself in a beautiful bed, with a beautiful husband
And you may ask yourself, “Well, how did I get here?”
I think Biden was trying to make the point that he is campaigning and does have supporters who are enthusiastic for him. Stephanopolus made it about the size of the crowd when he interrupted him to bring up Trump and his rallies...which by the way, when men argue about size, is it always whose or which is bigger? And longer? Like Biden and Trump and arguing about their golf games.
Actually when you commit fraud versus actual votes it matters at least it should
Elias covered up this shambling heap which has us half way to world war 3 on as many fronts
A Watseka vs Hoopeston HS basketball game gets a bigger crowd than that.
I played in a few of those, for the Warriors!
This was almost concurrent with the Thad Matta era at Hoopeston. The future Ohio St. and Butler head coach played for the Cornjerkers.
Yes, they were called the Cornjerkers. Because Hoopeston (pop. 4,900) was home to a huge corn canning factory, where I worked summers during high school.
The crowds might have been small, but they were basketball crazy and incredibly vocal in those small gyms, particularly during the Iroquois County Basketball Tournament.

from their cheering, they were all either union personnel and/or paid shills
Watching video of Biden with G.Steph. Biden's right eye noticeably more closed than right eye. Right side of mouth rarely closes; left side of mouth does all the moving.

It was the teachers union.
Public School teachers in this country think Biden is smart. They only have the relative position of themselves.
“After watching the 23-minute interview, it was obvious that Stephanopoulos was sent out to stab Caesar to death on [pre-recorded] television. There’s no other way to spin it.”
Et tu, Stumpy.
Even in the Stephanopoulis interview Biden looks pretty frail.
Its the kind of frail where you are careful not to inadvertently startle or jostle them because they might fall down. When shaking his hand you would be careful not to grip too tightly.
The Talking Heads reference made the comments worth reading. Now, let’s be frank, the Dems are running statistical programs to determine if their cheating can cover Joe’s deficits state by state. If they can’t be sure, he’s gone. Fortunately for Joe, the Wisconsin Supreme Court locked up its state electoral votes for Joe this week. So, he’s got that going for him…which is nice.
Lead pic. in PowerLine's Week in Pictures is split screen of Biden at debate and more recently. At debate, Biden's shirt was wrinkled below the collar, like two sizes too large and not pressed. Was the debate a planned subvehicularization?
Hell's bells, Anne, Meade. Get a room.
She got a blog and shared.
The combined square footage of the porta-potties at a Trump rally exceeds the square footage of this Biden event location.
Hunter and JOE - desperate to stay above the law and out of prison.
Corrupt mob-money whore a-holes. but then -the FBI and CIA / Democrxtic media industrial complex are as corrupt.
According to the Wisconsin Examiner, "the [Biden]campaign estimated total attendance at more than 1,000". https://wisconsinexaminer.com/2024/07/05/defiant-biden-tells-wisconsinites-im-staying-in-the-race
This is the "crowd" (no doubt assembled from compliant union and identity group allies) that Biden invites us to use as the metric of his popularity.
You get the sense that Biden is genuinely oblivious to the fact that the media have spent the last five years demonstrating to us that they are perfectly willing to promote a bowl of tapioca as the pinnacle of sagacity, endurance and popularity. He really doesn't have a clue that he is a figurehead, merely a front man for The Party.
I think the reason the time and location was not in the media was to keep the Palestine mob away. It seems to have worked.
I knew someone here would get the reference to Watseka. Just didn't know who.
S/T, I played in those gyms for Danville Schlarman HS. Even though we dominated the Wauseca Conference in those days, Watseka and Hoopeston were both tough road games. Always.
The problem with Trump rallies is no skyboxes for the wealthy elite to peer down their noses at the hoi polloi

I intercepted a Danville Schlarman pass in the end zone in my Freshman year at Watseka, to preserve a 10-6 win for the Wauseca Conference Championship. Ran it back to the Danville 30, where I was run down by a player who had an angle on me. Must have been 1966.
Schlarman was particularly tough in basketball. Always had a black player who was close to being a Division I prospect. I tried guarding one who was six inches taller than me. I couldn’t do much except hack him.
Thanks for my first laugh of the day.
More than just a little hint of ‘Being There’ in this whole ordeal. Any chance Chauncey Gardener could replace Joe?

Is there any other kind in Madison?
I drove through Madison yesterday early afternoon. Seemed like nothing special, like a visit from the President of the USA, was happening, just business as usual. The people I was with had no idea the President was in town because it was not in the news and still is not today. Not a peep. Very strange. What kind of "rally" is that?
"How many-- how many people draw crowds like I did today? Find me more enthusiastic than today? Huh?"
Hey, Dems. We're done with the Trump lies trope now, aren't we? I mean, your guy shovels the BS just as much, no?
Are we going to trade a demented president for a drunken president?
Will the press tell us about kamalas drinking?
If they have not in 5 years why would they now?
John Henry
"Any chance Chauncey Gardener could replace Joe?"
Sure, but they are trying to get rid of her, too.
Don't mock the size of the crowd. I bet those people can fill out a hell of a lot of ballots in an evening.
Too bad the Cobden Appleknockers couldn’t be in the same conference as the Cornjerkers.
I agree with JRoj, the Talking heads reference was great and I loved Zavier Onasses' "subvehicularization". Two laugh out loud moments for my morning showing that Joe Biden isn't the only thing in the world to laugh at these days.

+100!
Democrats don't show up and cheer their Federal Candidates. They also don't read or know anything about History, Politics, or economics. Very few of them even watch CNN or MSNBC. But do they do go out and vote, or sign their filled-in Democrat ballot when that nice man from the DNC shows up.
As long as those Goddamn Republicans lose, they're happy.
Btw, I'm glad Joe Biden has contempt for average Trump supporters like me. I'd be disappointed if a man so immoral liked me.
Size matters
Well Joe did fill a high school gym. Our host was puzzled yesterday since there hadn't been much advance notice of the location of Joe's "Huge" rally. But as in California, notice went out to all the SEIU members. I remember a California rally where Adam Schiff was the principal speaker. They'd bused in SEIU members from all over Los Angeles County. At 8 pm the shift bell rang, and they all trooped back to the buses--although Adam hadn't finished talking.
Wisconsin Supreme Court locked up its state electoral votes for Joe
The Wisconsin legislature can overrule them for a Prez election. Will they?
Many of Joe’s supporters don’t show up on photographs.
"The Wisconsin legislature can overrule them for a Prez election. Will they?"
Democrat governor would veto it.
Nah, the fix is in. Don't count on Wisconsin.
Just saw your comment on the other thread, Ralph.
The most interesting personal story of any athlete in my recollection is that of Sam Rice, the Hall of Famer from Watseka. He was a star of the 1925 World Series playing for the Senators.
Rice’s wife and children were killed in a tornado in their farmhouse near Watseka. Rice was away, so he survived. All this before he became a pro player. He became a drunken hobo. The story of how he returned to baseball is unique and amazing.
Looks like its in the local high school gym. I've seen more people than this at a New England Annual Town Meeting!
I watched the interview just now. There's a moment around 2 minutes in that's telling.
Stefanopoulous (or however he spells it - sorry, George) asks Biden if he watched a video of his debate performance. Long pause, during which Biden looks utterly forlorn and lost. "I don't think I did," he says, finally.
It's a middle school gym (cafegymatorium, as it was called in my school?), minnesota farm guy, and the claim is that there were also people in an overflow room, totalling "over 1,000."
A trivial number of people contacted directly by the campaign.
Biden seemed genuinely proud of his ability to draw a crowd. I'm wondering if he knows his "rallies" aren't being publicized.
"Wisconsin Supreme Court locked up its state electoral votes for Joe"
Ralph L: "The Wisconsin legislature can overrule them for a Prez election. Will they?"
Highly unlikely, given Robin Vos, a staunch anti-Trumper/pro-dem and Romney type is the Majority leader. A similar situation to Texas with the hideous Dade Phelan in the Majority Leaders chair and a key player in the failed lawfare (with Wray's compromised FBI) attack on Ken Paxton.
Beware, these Romney types in Texas are still pushing with the FBI behind the scenes to get Ken Paxton charged with something else for impeachment purposes.
Will the press tell us about Kamala's drinking?
Good Lord, man, if you were Kamala, wouldn't you drink...?!
I wouldn't doubt that the exact location of this "rally" wasn't publicly available beforehand to prevent any opposition presence. Not just Trump supporters, but any pro-Hamas demonstrators in particular. This being the Madison area, there are a good number of those nearby and they could definitely disrupt the proceedings and possibly outnumber the actual attendees given any advance notice. This meant no outside press coverage (news org might accidentally report the location as "news") and "invited guests" only, i.e. vetted Biden supporters.
As for Biden wanting to boast about the size of the crowd, well... it certainly was much larger than any he ever saw during the 2020 "Basement Campaign", but Trump rallies attract so many more supporters than this that any comparison is totally ridiculous. (They didn't pick Stephanopoulos's name out of a hat, did they?)
It's a middle school gym (cafegymatorium

as long as they add up 81 million + who can complain?
Whaddya mean? That's a huge crowd! HUGE!
