Thanks for watering. Listening to the rain pounding on the roof at the moment.

I was out fishing on the lake when all of this happened. I saw lots of fish on the chart plotter, but they weren't buying what I was selling. It was still very nice to be out there in a boat watching the sun set over the mountains on a beautiful midsummer day.

Apropos of nothing, but....

How many of you can imagine this scenario occurring on clueless Inga's wedding night...

Looking for the red MAGA hat the son gave me 4 years ago. Neither one of us wanted to wear it before in public so as not to offend strangers. Now it’s time to take a public stand. Trump has courage big time. It’s about time for the rest of us to join him.

I was surprised to find that Joe Beiden was a pal of John DuPont, heir to the Delaware DuPont fortune who shot a man in front of witnesses. The DuPonts owned Delaware and Beiden was their senate suckup. Why did the ms. Never talk about this?

I recommend Foxcatcher, a movie about this event. Some of the craziest casting I've ever seen. I thought it was - disturbing, but effective. When I saw it, we lived not far from DuPont Ground Zero - Wilmington, DE

Also WRT Foxcatcher - sorry, spoiler alert above! And I didn't even know the story when I idly clicked in it on Netflix or whatever, so imagine my surprise.

The sun came up yesterday. I'm betting it's going to come up tomorrow.

I'm going to check with the ghost of David Hume.

Looking forward to all the respectful, filled-with-decorum comments coming from the NYT, WP, leftist columnists on the assassination attempt.

This is just incredible, it will also be a mainstream narrative before the end of the week

Trump's just been shot, and CBS anchor Margaret Brennan disparages him for not telling his followers to lower the temperature. Unbelievable.

wendybar said...

You don't hate the media enough. Margaret Brennan should be fired, and publicly shamed for being an agent of the Progressive party spewing hate and lies.

@TomBevanRCP

The legacy media's behavior over the past 8 yrs already caused a cratering of public trust. But tonight is a new low. I've never seen such a failure of the media complex to accurately & honestly report the facts of such a momentous breaking news event.

On CBS, Margaret Brennan and Samantha Vinograd talk up "retaliatory violence" from right-wingers, and then we hear of January 6. Knew this line was coming....

CBS's Margaret Brennan lectures Steve Scalise, who was nearly assassinated in 2017 by a leftist: "Have you specifically instructed members...to rein in some of the rhetoric...some are using online that is somewhat incendiary...really blaming this, somehow, on the administration?"

Ryan Saavedra
@RealSaavedra

CNN's Juliette Kayyem says just moments after Trump was shot in an assassination attempt:

"Donald Trump and the people around him perceive themselves to be under threat, and that's all that matters. That is not legitimate."

Curtis Houck
@CurtisHouck

Disgusting speculation. NBC's Lester Holt and contributor Frank Figliuzzi express concern Trump supporters could now try to murder anti-Trump protesters if they show up outside the RNC this week.

I was surprised to find that Joe Biden was a pal of John DuPont

I am surprised to discover my first cousin has lived more than 20 years in the same Pennsylvania township as J DuPont's fatal farm, Newtown Square. He grew up in the Wilmington suburbs, DuPont didn't, according to Wikipedia, so I wonder why Biden would care about him and vice versa. My younger cousins knew Thomas Capano's victim in HS, speaking of other rich, 1990s killers in the area.

Every media organization and politician who claims Trump is the 'end of democracy' and 'worse than hitler' has responsibility for what happened today.

The attempted assassination on Trump today. While the bullet missed, it struck a member of my wife's family in Butler. Killing him. The Left is celebrating this, making jokes. They are nothing but vile people. Senseless violence.

@MadisonMan, if you come back to this comment thread, I’m recollecting that Meade once said something about you being a meteorology professor. Are you aware of any efforts to estimate how long it will be before the 146 million tons of water vapor pumped into the upper atmosphere by the Hunga Tonga volcano finally return to the earth’s surface?

Biden on a call with donors after the debate “I have one job, and that’s to beat Donald Trump. I’m absolutely certain I’m the best person to be able to do that. So, we’re done talking about the debate, it’s time to put Trump in a bullseye,”.
