Oh good. I was wondering when some more mushrooms would show up.
Those are oyster mushrooms, probably some more of those invasive yellow oysters from Asia that we saw here a few weeks ago (Pleurotus citrinopileatus).
They are quite delicious, and this batch looks to be at the peak of their freshness and desirability. If you don't want them, you ought to supply some GPS coordinates for your local readers to go out and grab them for supper tonight or tomorrow.
Take note, however: like most wild mushrooms, this species needs to be fully cooked and not eaten raw.
They can often be found quite high on the trunks of dead or dying trees that are still standing upright. The best way to get them when they are out of reach is with a length of high-strength monofilament fishing line attached to a lead sinker or other heavy, throwable object. 80-lb line is what I use. Toss the weight up and over the mushrooms and then saw downwards through their bases with the fishing line. They will fall right into your basket under the tree. With some practice and the right choice of fishing line and weight, you can reach mushrooms 30 or 40 feet above you without taking your feet off the ground.

Trump confused Nikki Haley and Kamala Harris at the NC rally a couple days ago. He said Harris wanted to “lift the retirement age”, nope, that was Nikki Haley. Harris never said she was in favor of lifting the retirement age, that was Nikki Haley.

Slightly off topic, bur whatever happened to the Spotted Lanterfly? A couple of years ago the experts were telling us that it was about to destroy the Earth and everything on it, but I haven’t seen a single one this year.

Remember that Inga is not here for any genuine discussion of the issues, she just wants to make sure that we don’t miss any of her party’s talking points. She probably gets notifications from some political action group that she belongs to to spread this stuff.
Personally, was happy to hear that the US is not at war anywhere, from Joe Biden in his speech, so I was wondering when we are going to stop occupying Syria’s oil fields, and how, exactly, are we going to beat Putin when we are not at war with Russia, and I think that when we get to be “not at war” with China, that’s gonna be lit.
Maybe Inga can explain why Biden’s statement was anything other than a brazen lie.

I love this series, and here is my thank you for it--the story of Mary Banning, a mushroom-hunting miracle woman of the 1800s. It's going to be a chapter in my next book but I put it up on my site now instead of later thinking that Professor Althouse might enjoy it. Here's hoping, anyway:
