"On Tuesday, Judge Juan Merchan loosened the gag order’s conditions, allowing Trump to publicly comment..."

"... on the witnesses that testified in the trial as well as members of the jury.... Under the new ruling, Trump will be able to speak about the trial’s key witnesses, including his former attorney Michael Cohen and adult-film star Stormy Daniels.... Trump will not be allowed to identify individual jurors or disclose any information about them...."

It's good to remove this chill on Trump's speech, especially with the debate coming up.

But he still can’t speak ill of the judge or the prosecutors? Fuck them

Perrrrrfect timing. I have a strict no-CNN policy, but the summer of Don is chugging away.

There was no reason for the judge to wait this long to do this.

The judge is utterly corrupt.

Good Lawgic for the win?

A fair judge would have done this the day testimony ended or at the latest the day the verdict was reached.

It’s a black mark on the American judiciary that it was on in the first place.

My, how generous of the judge. He's a regular judicial Santa Claus.

"Trump will not be allowed to identify individual jurors or disclose any information about them...." Will he be able to say that he was convicted by a left-wing Democrat jury, in a left-wing Democrat court, presided over by a left-wing Democrat judge, in a left-wing Democrat-dominated jurisdiction, after a phony trial?

Now, let's all genuflect and thank the judge for his blessing.

Note that the gag order still applies to talking about the corrupt DA (and I think the even more corrupt judge). So it's hardly a victory for free speech.

I am still praying. Merchant is stupid enough to throw Trump in jail for his convention speech.

It is pretty entertaining that they are presenting. This as some sort of Benevolence when these gag orders are almost never imposed on defendants And are almost always reserved for prosecution.

Merchan is such a piece of crap. A truly corrupt and detestable person.

Disagree.

A fair judge would've never imposed it in the first place.

He can slap it back on before he sentences him.

The trial has concluded. Any justification for Trump’s gag order concluded with it. He should be subject to the same rules as every other criminal defendant after the conclusion of their trial.

Merchan is a grifter, a judicial pansy. May he be haunted the remainder of his days on Earth by his corrupt actions.

And may a hellhound snap at his heels for eternity. Shit-sucking little poofter.

WTF? So I can identify individual jurors, and disclose information about them, and you can identify individual jurors, and disclose information about them, but Donald Trump may not identify individual jurors, and disclose information about them. Because that would be bad!

Did I call Judge Merchan a shit-sucking poofter? Yes, yes, I believe I did. Carry on, hellhound.

I'm surprised we haven't heard more about appeals.

Hopefully he is shipped to China where he belongs.

the appeals are a very tough climb because of the make up of the panels from what my sources tell me,

The difference in the behavior of Donald Trump and Hunter Biden with regard to their legal troubles is astounding: outrageous rabble-rousing versus dignity and respect toward the judiciary. And I don’t see reports of out of control Democrats trying to intimidate and track people involved in the Hunter case. It’s as if the Republican (fringes?) have a problem with law and order.

LOLxFor-evah!

Abacus Boy is really outdoing himself lately! He just might, if he puts his shoulder to the grindstone, potentially overtake LLR-democratical And Violent Homosexual Rage Rape Fantasist Chuck as the most hilarious LLR-democratical of all!

Needless to say, bringing up the LLR-democratical rear is lonejustice.

No surprise there.

I was told that in NY the appeal is not considered until after sentencing. If so then the Court has an approach avoidance problem. They want to sentence Trump pre-election to call him evil, but don't want an appeal to besmirch the officiousness of the verdict as issued by the lower court.

If the appeal is denied, that will move the case into Federal Court under various theories.

I hope it ends with a Habeas Corpus order to produce Trump from Riker's Island and allow him to conduct a campaign before the election openly in public without Government control of his speech.

As a NY Bar member, I am truly embarrassed over the antics of "Judge" Marchan, including his imposition of Trump's gag order. Assuming there was a legitimate basis for imposing the gag order in the first place, there literally is no legitimate reason for it to remain in place post-conviction. The order should not have been modified, it should have been rescinded completely. Marchan's continuation of the order is just another aspect of his election interference.

Well, I guess this settles the question of what Trump will talk about during the debates ...
