I am not a fan of Hayes or Maddow but I don't recall a single riot that either of these broadcasters attended such as January 6, and Charlottesville.

But in absolute terms the revisions for January 2023 was -84,000, 2022 was -181,000, 2020 -14,000, 2021 was +280,000, 2019 -35,000.

January is a difficult month due to seasonal trends which are hard to adjust for, and it looks the BLS is too optimistic on its initial reading (though 2021 was a mammoth mss the other way). Over time though the average revision over all months over the last 7 years is just 2,000 (the absolute error (ignoring sign) is 84,000).

And given the limitations of the statistical techniques, even though the "popular" number on which the markets focus is the headline Jobs number, in reality there is a statistical range within which the payrolls number can lie.

For example, while the February headline jobs number is widely understood to be +275K, the BLS also clarifies that the 90% confidence interval of the jobs number for February is between +140,600 and +409,400.

They clarify that "The 90% confidence interval represents the symmetric range of values around the estimate for which there is a 90% probability that the actual change is contained within the range of values."

This can be interpreted as statistically, the first reading of the February Jobs number could be anywhere between +140,600 and +409,400 with a 90% probability, with the +275,000 reported just being the center-point of this range, that is all.

ZH provides no link) that would not contradict Zelenskyy's statement that they have had "only 31,000 soldier deaths". Does GILBAR! know the difference between deaths and casualties? A lot of civilians think 'casualties' are all deaths in battle, but it (and "losses") means the total number of soldiers killed, wounded, captured, and missing, usually minus those in the last three categories who return to duty after recovering from their wounds or being traded/found. Modern warfare usually has a wounded-to-killed ratio around 4:1.
