Easter cold open.

Meade's comment, on watching that with me: "You can tell from the audience's reaction that even though they want to be thought of as hating Trump, underneath they really... love Trump."

5 minutes later:

Me: "From the standpoint of not liking fruit."

Meade: "You forgot the raccoons."

Again, the memo went out last week to the MSM and the Entertainment Industry

"Today, we attack Trump for selling bibles. DMZ and all the pundits - start acting outraged. SNL - you write up a skit. Colbert and Kimmel - you start mocking it on your shows. Dowd - you write a column. All you robot libtards followers - start talking about it on Twitter and the internet. We'll ride this pony to we exhust it. Come back next week for the new anti-Trump talking point".

I love how the SNL writers have zero understanding of Christians, Easter, or the Bible. All these libtard attacks on Trump for pretending to be religious when he's really not a religion guy fall flat. Athiests and non-Christians are tone deaf on the issue. Its like when your nerdy asperberger athiest friend lectures you on Christianity : "Well, actually Jesus meant..."

Is that supposed to be funny?

Meade: "You forgot the raccoons."

And a "Trump is like Jesus" tag.

I see I’m being encouraged to comment on this…

I played around with Microsoft CoPilot to see what I could find out about the trading of DJT stock. I am not a Daytrader, so this was an effort to find out about the market.

Bill Gross, known as "The Bond King," has entered the options-trading frenzy surrounding Trump Media. He’s selling both put and call options on DJT shares, expressing confidence in this move due to the high volatility of these options. Specifically, he expects DJT shares to remain within the range of $45 to $95 before the options expire in April.

Options contracts allow investors to buy or sell a stock at an agreed-upon price in the future. Put options give the holder the right to sell the stock at a specified price. Call options give the holder the right to buy the stock at a specified price.

Gross is selling these options, effectively wagering that DJT shares will stay within the specified price range. If the options expire worthless, he keeps the premium received from selling them. Investors are facing annual financing costs of 400% to 500% to borrow, according to brokerages.

The stock’s surge has MAGA-cultist investors desperate to get in on the action, using everything from Gross's call and put options, to costly short bets, to gambling on warrants tied to the company. The stock and warrants are now trading on the Nasdaq under the tickers “DJT” and “DJTWW”. Finding shares to borrow for companies that went public through a deal with a special-purpose acquisition company typically is tricky because long-oriented shareholders like mutual funds and ETF providers — the usual sources for shares available for lending — rarely have large SPAC positions.

I thought it was fairly funny. Not classic SNL funny, but not all that bad.

Whattaya expect from baby killers? Humor?

traditionalguy म्हणाले...

He is risen. Through all SNL’s nasty badinage of ridicule and laugh tracks the Presbyterian conveyed the message.

underneath they really... love Trump.

What would we do without him?!

BTW where can I get that toaster?

There's an Amazon link right -->

Can someone identify the background music at the beginning of the skit? I know I've sung it in choir, and it's bugging me completely that I can't recall it.

Narr म्हणाले...

MadisonMan axed about the opening music. I'm not sure, but it is familiar . . . Mozart?

AlbertAnonymous म्हणाले...

As usual I didn’t laugh once. You’d think they would try something else, but maybe they are just literally playing to their audience.

Pretty sacrilegious too. Goodness. Thought we were supposed to be tolerant of others….

Okay that was pretty funny. But it wasn't John Belushi by any stretch of the imagination.

MadisonMan म्हणाले...

@Narr: Thank you! Bang-on correct. Mozart's Ave Verum. (Now I can relax!)

Thanks for confirming that, MadisonMan.
