NYY - 3 comeback wins against Houston to start the season.

It's the Oswaldo Cabrera and Juan Soto show.

As Larry David would say. "They're Pretty, Pretty Good."

There is a real problem these days with people taking unapproved interpretations away from pieces of art. Something should be done. I just heard that the director of Dune is upset that people are seeing Paul Atreides as a hero, when in fact he was deliberately presented as evil and Trump-like. Therefore every piece of art should have its meaning explicitly explained by the artist himself, or at least by an approved member of the nomenklatura, and all other interpretations are simply wrong. This will solve the problem of people misinterpreting art, which, as we all know, is an insidious form of misinformation.

I have an out for progressives who are all wee weed up about global warming. Science(tm) now says that world population is in decline, so there is no reason to worry about fossil fuels or electric cars.

We can use decreasing amounts of fossil fuels and the declining population can drift toward the empty cold parts of the world. And better yet, the only populations that will grow are the the high melanin ones, another win. Can you Arabs try getting it on a bit more though? And Jews and Mormons, cut it out.

Lets declare victory, and move on. Hail us, we won! On to a cold future! Babies, like snow, will be rare and infrequent.

1. This season Creighton beat both CT and Bama; both teams are in the Final Four.

2. Saw “In the Land of the Sinners and Saints.” Ireland, 1974. So authentic that I wasn’t able to catch all the words.

Watched the text chain episode of the newest season of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Upon Larry's reaction to the text chain, a family member exclaims, "It's you!" I tell this to someone else, and the response is, "I thought of you too!"

Watched Jesus Christ Superstar last night. If you ever want to explain the 1970's aesthetic to someone, this is your movie. Great music, interesting perspective, overwhelming hippie vibe, and stark Holy Land locations. What a weird yet appealing piece of culture.

WHATTTTT??? Fareed Zakaria said WHATTT??? Seems like it is dawning on some Progressives that their lies are JOKES....

Eric Abbenante
@EricAbbenante
Fareed Zakaria and Bill Maher discuss Ronna McDaniel's firing from NBC News:
Zakaria: "How much do you punish her for her past lies? Bill Clinton lied under oath. Last time I checked he's been on MSNBC. She's an election denier. Well Stacey Abrams was an election denier and they've had her on."
"Liberals often trigger backlash when they use illiberal means to get to their ends. Liberal democracy, freedom of speech, the constitution, the way you're going to defend it, the way you're going to move it forward is by not cheating, not cutting corners, not having double standards."
Cheating, cutting corners, and having double standards is the Democrat playbook.

As Progressives show their TRUE Religion, the rest of us are laughing at them. Their false Gods are going to make them lose. And they DESERVE it. They are heathens that hate America, and good American people. Enjoy your downfall Progressives. It has been fun watching you make fools out of yourself to prove how "tolerant" you are to everybody but law abiding Americans who just want you to LEAVE US ALONE!!!

THIS and when Cuomo lit up New York in pink to celebrate their murder babies up to the day of birth bill just go to show they hate normal religious Americans. They disgust me and give me MORE reason to NEVER to up to NYC ever again. Let if fall...they deserve it.

Best Meme on Powerlines Week in Pictures..

"So, when Trump takes out a loan and pays it back with interest it's a crime but when you take out a student loan, and don't pay it back, then Biden forgives the loan, steals money from the taxpayers to pay it back it's not a crime."

It doesn't get ANY truer than this.....

When “enlightened” first world countries cripple their farmers in the name of the holy “NetZero” (Netherlands, Britain, Poland, Oregon), where do they think the food is going to come from?

If it’s going to be grown in Chile, Indonesia, Botswana, etc, does anyone think that farmers in those countries produce less CO2 per kilo of food (plus shipping on diesel powered freighters)?

If the idea is to reduce the amount of food to induce mass starvation and cut population, do you suppose it will be Europeans who starve first?

Yep
Norman Lear never recovered from Archie Bunker. Stupid audience? Stupid Director?
Like Norman Lear, this director lives in the Fantasy land of Hollywood. People in reality have lives requiring real values. Not fantasy land of Hollywood.

I saw the live show a couple of years ago with Ted Neely still in the role of Jesus. It was great!!!

Well, if you read past the first book, he isn't a hero and the thing you cheered so much for in the first book is actually ISIS taking power for a universe wide jihad.

But go ahead, tell us how the director is misunderstanding where the story went.

same place as ALWAYS.. The Whole Foods store.

Asking this is as silly as asking "where does electricity come from?"
When the obvious answer is: the wall outlet.

All farmers (and power companies (and car companies (and ANY industry))) do is make obscene profits.

It's like asking "where does the government's money come from?"

Yeah, maybe the author was upset about how people were "misinterpreting" his story too, so what? You guys really have a hard time thinking past what you are told, don't you.

It's understood that if you have to explain your joke, it's a crappy joke. I imagine it's pretty much the same for political art.

It's widely accepted that the Dune series fell apart as it droned on. He had told his story that he has lifted from Lesly Branche's book, with sci-fi and fantasy elements added,, but there was still money to be made. Dune was a complete novel, and there was no compelling reason to continue it after the Fremen had recovered their planet.

It's very true that the Fremen are based on Muslims in the Caucasus, who were caught between the Persian and Russian empires. If you ever read their story, as written in a book that was very popular in the early '60s when it came out, "The Sabers of Paradise" and if you then read Dune, it would be clear to you that Dune was heavily based on this book, down to the little historical excerpts at the head of each chapter.

The Caucasus--a region of supreme natural beauty and fiercely proud warriors--has throughout history been characterized by violence and turmoil. During the Great Caucasus War of 1834-1859, the warring mountain tribes of Daghestan and Chechnya united under the charismatic leadership of the Muslim chieftain Imam Shamyl, the "Lion of Daghestan," and held at bay the invading Russian army for nearly 25 years. Lesley Blanch vividly recounts the epic story of their heroic and bloody struggle for freedom and the life of a man still legendary in the Caucasus.

Was Imam Shamyl evil?

Your reference to ISIS, which is a CIA creation, is pretty funny too. Whenever I hear ISIS, I think of a picture I saw in a museum as a child, of a Mohawk shaman who danced around a fire in a frightful costume, and had a fierce face on the end of a stick which he used to frighten his followers into coming to him for protection. ISIS only ever seems to attack the enemies of the CIA. Isn't that odd?

Ever hear of the essay "The Death of the Author"? Go ahead and tell me some more how I don't understand Dune.
