"Vivague Ramaslimey backpedaling more than his receding hairline."

Tweeted Nalin Haley, quoted in "One Haley Who Isn’t Afraid to Let Insults Fly Nikki Haley’s 22-year-old son, Nalin, has hit the campaign trail and is taking shots at his mother’s political attackers" (NYT).

Nalin, who obscures his own hairline with massive bangs...

... even as high-foreheaded folk lurk behind him, doubles down on the receding-hairline theme:
Ha ha. Hilarious. Are we allowed to make fun of how people look? More importantly, should candidates unleash their handsome offspring to hurl insults at their parent's opponents? If the answer is yes, then tremble at the thought of Trump releasing the Barron. But who can imagine Barron launching out onto the political landscape with blithe insults and memes? When Barron springs forth it will be with grandeur and momentousness... won't it?

She should be thankful she still has political attackers. TBH it sounds like something her campaign cooked up…

"Are we allowed to make fun of how people look?"

Insults are only OK when they go in one direction. Otherwise they are mean and uncouth.

It was predicted in 2015 that Barron would be the mation's first home-school shooter, back when there were good insults.

Haley's campaign responds by swinging wildly.

Desperation, noun: a state of despair, typically one which results in rash or extreme behavior.

Who is this "Haley" and her son, of whom you write? Are we supposed to know who this person is? Has "Haley" done anything deserving of the attention of the US public? Imma google that name, it seems you expect me to acknowledge that she has some reason to be known. Darn if I can see why, though.

Just a few days back you expected your readers to be familiar with some nobody named "Kennedy" for whatever reason, and now this poor "Haley" appears. Seems to be blog fodder for a Trivial Pursuit game.

The real question is why did the esteemed New York Times find this so newsworthy.

But of course we know the answer to that, don’t we.

what position is Nikki shooting for?
she spent the last year insulting and alienating MOST republicans; so it can't be a republican position
Think about it? Her actions only make sense if they lead to something.

I'm Starting to think, that she's hoping for the VP slot.. The Democrat VP slot.
Input, anyone? WHAT does Nikki think she'll gain with her actions?

I wasn't paying attention to Haley's campaign. Why would I? The only advocates for her seem to live at the NYTimes and the WaPost.

Trump's rudeness and insults made it "okay" to call out physical appearance in many minds. See the giant inflatable "Baby Trump" balloon.

This continues the general decline in what we used to call maturity, or the common way that people used to interact. When was the last time you heard someone say "Pardon my French"?

Please. Literally no one who is voting in GOP primaries is paying any attention to Nikki Haley any longer. That boat has long since sailed. Hell...she was finished before DeSantis dropped out.
The only people paying attention to Nikki Haley are the same people who somehow find it interesting to talk about QAnon. That is, various people on the Left. No one on the right talks about either topic.

For what it's worth.

Ahead of the Feb. 24 GOP primary, the poll shows 65 percent of likely voters in the state would vote for Trump, which is a 36 percent lead over Haley. Out of Republican voters, an overwhelming 72 percent would vote for Trump.

65/29 according to politico yesterday https://www.politico.com/news/2024/02/14/trump-haley-south-carolina-poll-00141450

I remember when Haley went ballistic screeching at Ramaswamy "do NOT bring my children into this" for mentioning her family was using TikTok. Now her son is inserting himself into the campaign. In a nasty way. With far less wit than even Trump uses routinely. To coin a phrase it seems as if chaos follows Nikki around, as if some cosmic force makes her and her family do stupid desperate shit, like blame Trump for the Woke Armed Services recruiting problem. Let's keep that weirdness as far from the White House as possible then.

Unless of course she is angling to replace Biden at the NeverTrumper/DNC convention. Then I endorse her as the replacement Michelle. At least she'll be honestly going after her natural base in that scenario, the drifting Hillary neocon voter.

None of the other politicians can deliver a funny and appropriate insult with the aplomb and skill of Trump. They shouldn't even try.....There doesn't seem to be much in the way of east Indian solidarity. Vivek and the Haley went out of their way to insult each other with special malice.....I wonder how the dynamics of Asian ethnicity works. Chinese and Japanese have no love for each other back in the old country, but here they look alike and most people can't parse the difference. Does the enmity still exist here? Will Asians go the way of whites and vote their economics or whatever rather than their ethnicity....I'm third generation Irish and don't hold any particular grudges against WASP's. I wouldn't vote for Biden because he's Irish, but neither is it a cause of my antipathy towards him. It was a big deal with JFK, but all that's in the past.

You have to read down a little bit to get to the actual affidavit, which is pretty interesting, as far as accounts of plain old pedestrian adultery while Hubby is off serving in uniform go. After all, it's a tale as old as time.

Haley’s husband is bald and short. Does her son really want to get into hairlines?

The Son is short too. He’s got hair for now.

It’s dumb for him to get involved in this. His mom is wealthy now and her political career is over. Just cash the checks.

Big Mike said...

Haley is likely to lose her own state’s primary by about 2:1. She and her son trying to show that they can be every bit as rude as Donald Trump at his worst won’t help. After the people in her home state — the people who know her best — send her off to ignominious defeat, will she move to her natural home, which is the Democrat Party?

Leland said...

I doubt this will go well for Nalin. Just looking at the picture, I doubt his background is clean enough for those that are already digging through his past social media. Not when his mom has made plenty of missteps and misspoke many times.

As an example of what I mean about Donald Trump, he tried to make an issue of Haley’s husband not being with her on the campaign trail. First, if spouses are supposed to be with the candidates on the campaign trail, then where’s Melania? Secondly, Major Michael Haley is deployed overseas. Now a Democrat can get away with mocking a deployed soldier, but it’s normally fatal for the candidacy of an ordinary Republican. See what I mean about Trump’s lack of political instincts? But I retired into a blue collar neighborhood, and what I’m picking up from my neighbors is that Bidenomics has hit them and their families hard, and they see Trump as the only person with the brass balls enough to take on the federal establishment that hates the middle and working classes with a drooling passion and the only person with the economic knowledge to fix what Bidenomics broke.

A note for the lefty trolls who push cherry-picked statistics and estimated statistics from formerly trusted federal agencies that will later “unexpectedly” be forced to revise those figures upward (unemployment, inflation rates) or downward (average wages) when reality catches up. You might sneer at working people, but they’ve got your number.

Well shit, that's about the nicest compliment I have ever heard! I mean, I know you weren't directing it at me but I'll take it that way. Sadly, I do believe that children are their own people and parents can only take a tiny bit of credit when they do well, and perhaps a bit more blame when the kids go wrong.

He’s not a likeable man, and he was too easily flim-flammed by people like Fauci and Birx, who were clearly out to destroy his Presidency in 2020 no matter what the cost to the American people. However his economic and foreign policies are better than any Democrat’s.
