Because I discovered the the office of Power Line blogger John Hinderaker at the Center of the American Experiment in Minnesota was firebombed last Saturday. The damage appears to be extensive. He writes that he is working with the FBI to help apprehend the perpetrators, however whether the FBI will put any effort into finding a criminal who has attacked a conservative organization remains to be seen.; 2/1/24, 8:05 PM

Hinderacker writes in Power Line that "leftists firebombed my office last Saturday night. At around 2 am, they broke into the building that houses the Center of the American Experiment and two other conservative organizations with which we often collaborate, along with many other businesses. The arsonists set two fires: one was in the first-floor corridor between American Experiment’s office and the space we sublease to Take Charge, Kendall and Sheila Qualls’ organization. A second fire was set on the third floor, immediately outside or perhaps actually inside the office of the Upper Midwest Law Center, on whose board I serve." Then he posted a picture of the hallway damage somewhere outside of his office [maybe from KSAP-TV] but strangely, nothing showing his firebombed office.

Lots of assumptions all around here. How many leftists knew or cared that John Hideraker is a so-called conservative MAGA-leaning writer at Power Line which promotes the "Russian Hoax" bullshit? Or that he was is President of the Center for the American Experiment think tank or a board member of the Upper Midwest Law Center? Or that he had an office at 8421 Wayzata Boulevard in Golden Valley, MN?

On the other hand, TakeCharge-MN is not a political organization but Kendall Qualls is known to all as a failed Republican candidate for Governor in 2022 and 3rd District Representative in 2020. "Minnesoota" is home to the DFL - the majority party boasting two senators, five representatives, and a governor.

Big Mike said...: Some high school students were at the state capitol of Indiana on Tuesday advocating for more gun control when they hopped on an elevator with State Representative Jim Lucas.

One of the kids asked Lucas if he carried a firearm, at which point Lucas pushed back his suit jacket to reveal his lawfully carried pistol and told the students “I’m carrying right now.”

Makynna Fivecoats, a 17-year-old student at Burris Laboratory School, recorded the exchange between Lucas, the students and a parent chaperone, Alison Case, The Statehouse File reports. During their discussion, Lucas flashed his gun to the teenagers.

“My heart sank to my stomach,” Fivecoats later told The Statehouse File. “I genuinely felt very unsafe in that moment. And I really just wanted the conversation to kind of end after that.”

A student next told Lucas that people carrying firearms do not make them feel safe but rather threatened, prompting the following exchange:

“OK, those are feelings,” Lucas responded. “I’m talking facts.”

“That’s what this is about; this is about feelings,” replied the student.

“People who want to kill you don’t care about your feelings,” Lucas said.

You're not seeing any open water in those pictures, but the dark colored ice is, I think, in the process of melting. It's soft and porous, I believe. I'm not seeing any fishing huts out there where they would normally be this time of year.

The lake froze during the period in early January when it was very cold, below zero, but then it jumped up into the 30s. Somehow we've skipped the 00s, 10s, and 20s this year. That's a big gap of temperatures that would normally predominate in winter. In the next 10 days, it's going into the 40s and even 50s. It's quite a strange winter!; 2/2/24, 5:47 AM

The temperature bands zigzag up and down per random fluctuations in the Jet Stream. The cold zones are akin to moving skull caps on the top and bottom of Earth. Sometimes N. America is super cold, sometimes Europe is super cold, and sometimes Asia is super cold. The other regions tend to be warmer when one region is colder. The coldest region varies year by year; early this season East Asia was very cold. These variations have absolutely NOTHING to do with climate change. Furthermore, the global ocean currents (e.g., the Pacific's El Nino, La Nina) fluctuate and cause periodic weather/winter temp variations. California alternates between cold & dry versus warm & wet winters every 4 to 7 years. This is also not global warming.

Keep the concepts straight and don't let clueless media faces or ideology-driven activists spout their cartoonish broken understanding of the multiple factors involved.
