I hope the creeps that dumped pink powdered paint on the Constitution do some serious jail time.

I wonder why mystery thriller heroes have such bitch ex-wives that they're always trying to get back together with and always getting rejected.

It might have started with Taken (2008 2012 2014) where no matter how many times he saves the lady's life he can't get laid.

Then there's Bosch, and Haller, each with a wife and child that left him to do her own thing, playing professional poker or a career as a prosecutor.

Even Joe Demarco has an ex wife and kid, though I don't remember them being other than mentioned here and there as child support.

US Constitution encasement vandalized with red powder at National Archives

"The National Archives in Washington, DC, closed early on Wednesday after two people dumped red powder on the display that protects the US Constitution, Archives officials said in a news release.

“The Constitution was unaffected in its encasement. No damage was done to the document itself,” the Archives said in a statement.

The individuals were immediately detained by security at the time of the incident, around 2:30 p.m., and officials are investigating, the Archives said.

In a video posted to X, two men stood in front of the powder-covered encasement and spoke out about the right to clean water and a livable climate before being approached and detained by uniformed guards.

“We take such vandalism very seriously and we will insist that the perpetrators be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” Archivist of the United States Colleen Shogan said in a statement.

...

While such acts may succeed in gaining attention, experts have previously told CNN they also attract significant criticism and risk backlash toward their cause.

Ya think? Using wacko tactics to promote your cause tars the cause as a wacko movement.

well bryan mills was 22, when he joined the special forces and dissapeared into the covert world, re the 3rd film, which is no longer canon I guess, by the time of Taken he was nearly 50, having spent most of his life in places he couldn't forget what he had seen, and as much had done,

Gibbs from NCIS had a similar tortured history, if you are to be a knight, domestic tranquility is not likely a thing,

Putin sure does get active whenever the Howard Brigade is in office, dont they.

But, like most students in blue state schools that cant read, write or do math at grade level, non-combat "vet" Howitzer Howie is left sputtering and unable to understand or explain why that might be. So it becomes Projection Time!

LOL

If you wanna have some fun with Howitzer Howie, ask him if there is a border crisis!

And let the Howitzer Howie Hilarity commence!

Whats most amusing about over-compensating Howitzer Howie Non-combat vet's comment is that it probably took him half a day to come up with it!

Our voter registration cards were in our mailbox yesterday. Re-issued every 4th year. In the past, receiving these elicited a warm feeling.

This time, none of that. Mixed disgust and anger. Just another corrupted arm of Government, growing like a parasite, working against me, surviving and growing on the money it sucks up in taxes.

Be cheaper to abolish the County Elections Office and just leave a stack of ballots at the door. "Take as many as you like."

It seems to me that Gaza is a new form of state unknown to political science - the terror state. So much that is inexplicable if we think of Gaza as a nation state - its use of civilians to shield its military, its spending on tunnels rather than normal public works such as slum clearance or sports fields, its bland acceptance of an economy dependent on aid packages, suitcases of cash and its declared enemy - all this which would be malformation in the nth degree in a nation state is quite in order if we think of Gaza as a terror state.
It is government of the terrorists, by the terrorists and for the terrorists. And how do terrorists survive? By hiding among civilians. What do we find in Gaza? a military hiding among civilians. How do terrorists resist occupation? by creeping through neighborhoods on hidden pathways which allow them to launch sudden attacks and then vanish again. What do we find in Gaza? An insistence that an occupation exists coupled with construction of the ultimate in hidden pathways - a system of tunnels with pop-up shafts to allow sudden sniping and a quick disappearance. How do terrorists survive? Aid from supporters, including suitcases of cash. What do we find in Gaza? A quite incredible acceptance of a civilian economy in which no one does anything real but all survive on "aid" as if they were all terrorists living on handouts and cash from secret services. What is the purpose political leaders live for in a terror state? Is it to improve the lives of their citizens? No, it is to use all their resources to gather forces to commit the most frightful outrages imaginable.
As a nation state or a precursor to a nation state, Gaza is monstrous but as what it aims to be, a terror state, it is quite successful. Success in dealing with it probably rests in understanding the civilians of such a state as well as in understanding that its declared aims and goals are its aims and goals.

The 21st century might hold other new political forms. Perhaps the US might be seen as an NGO state. But that's another story.

"So, now you have the spectacle of Republicans outraged at their own base for not deferring. You have the ridiculous Thom Tillis explaining that if normal people knew what he knew, they would side with him. Well, dummy, that's not how this works. You don't just get our trust. You've got to earn it. If you have some facts or information you think would change our minds, maybe you should share it instead of just defaulting to calling us isolationist rubes or Putin party pals. You're not going to insult us into submission."

"Stop being offended that Republican voters have noticed that you have failed, and if you want to earn their trust again, stop failing.
And here's another hint – you won't stop failing until the border is closed."

He could always use the money he is blowing on paying off student loans and send that to Ukraine. But he won't. He want's to make America suffer the invasion at the Southern Border that HE purposely caused.

I hope he does it, because it will be the stupidest, most progressive thing he could ever do to open the American peoples eyes to what an asshole he is, and how much he hates America, and our people. Send him and his grifting family to Ukraine. They want him...they can have him.

"Now the Biden regime says ICE will likely have to release thousands of illegals in custody because they will lack the funding to keep them detained.
This is the threat from the regime. Either fund our outrageous open border policies or we will release thousands of more illegals on top of the millions of illegals already released inside the country since Joe Biden took office."

Hollywood uses formulas. Stock bad guys. Stock good guys. Stock flawed anti-heroes. Stock relationships. On top of that there are only a handful of dramatic plots (~7), so they tend to recycle themes. The film audience, as researched by the marketing department, is likely comprised of divorced couples with similar experiences and a twinge of sadness about the past. See frisson. Many, many, many movies and novels jerk with emotions to maximize frisson.

Die Hard is a Christmas film and a romance...when added to the main thriller plot it becomes a triple-frisson-manipulator...

Oh, such states have existed since time immemorial. Long before mass media. And with fewer people. The Romans had their own way of dealing with them. First, a lesson- decimation. Line the populous up, kill every 10th person. If they didn't learn that was followed by extermination.

But what were the Mongols if not a Terror State writ large?

To all my followers and friends who see beyond the surface,
To my fellow truth-seekers and those navigating the journey of awakening,
Yes, awakening can feel like a double-edged sword. It's a journey marked by liberation and alienation, empowerment and loneliness. If you're struggling to make sense of the chaos, know that you're not alone. The path to enlightenment often comes with its share of darkness and grief.
It's a painful realization to uncover that much of what we once believed to be true is, in fact, a facade. The loss of relationships and the feeling of isolation can be overwhelming. We find ourselves in a world where shallow conversations lack meaning, and our support systems seem out of touch.
But amidst the turmoil, there's solace in knowing that we're not alone. We're part of a tribe of like-minded souls, deeply connected in purpose and spirit. While the journey may be lonely at times, our collective strength sustains us.
So, let's continue to dive into the depths of truth, navigating the complexities of reality with courage and resilience. And as we journey forward, let's remember to support one another and stand together in our quest for enlightenment.

So a jury in DC found "malice" in Steyn's statements. In other words, they found that Steyn secretly believed that the Hockey Stick was good science. That is the only way that one can find that he acted with malice. But they had to find malice in order to find for Mann, and therefore they found malice. To quote Alice's Restaurant, it was "a typical case of American blind justice, and there wasn't nothing he could do about it."

It's the Hockey Stick redux. The Hockey Stick was an exercise in "goal seeking" statistical analysis, it manipulated the inputs in order to achieve a desired output, and the jury's deliberation was an exercise in goal seeking to find for Mann.

"Goal Seeking is widely used in finance (for example, to find the required investment to achieve a future value), in engineering (to determine the necessary specifications to achieve desired performance), and in many other fields where specific targets must be met through controlled manipulation of input variables." - Chat GPT

Trump is unpredictable. Nobody wants to deal with an unpredictable opponent.

Trump provided lethal aid to Ukraine.
Trump badgered Europe into increasing funding for NATO due to threat from Russia.
Trump ordered a strike on Russia's Wagner forces in Syria. (unpredictable)
Trump ordered the hit on Soleigmani (unpredictable)
Trump lobbied against Nordstream his whole time as POTUS on the grounds that it was strengthening Putin

The one thing that Trump would nave have done is let the Ukraine war start without picking up the phone and calling Putin in an attempt to work it out, and this is where the neocons see the real danger from Trump.

The neocons see Ukraine as a battering ram to break the Russian Federation, and they don't care about Ukrainians except as useful tools in their propaganda. This war has already begun the unstoppable bleeding out of the Ukrainian nation, whose demographics have been immolated (look it up) by this gambit.

This war is the next phase of the "War on Terror," which if you decode their propaganda properly, means "War of terror," only the terror, instead of being used to create pretexts for military invasions, which, for some odd reason, always seemed to be aimed at Russian, or former Soviet clients, is going to be used on Russian assets throughout the world, and we will see how patiently Russia tolerates it. Russia can tolerate a lot of suffering. And the Nazis in Ukraine can tolerate a lot of suffering by their own populations. Ukraine can never win on the battlefield of a conventional war, but this was probably bait all along, to draw the bear into the trap, and then release a war on their economic infrastructure until the Russian Federation collapses, and we can go in there and loot and pillage it the way we have been looting and pillaging Africa for centuries.

Maybe its all for the best, but whatever this new weapon the CIA is all warning us that Russia has is, if its worse than the stuff that Putin has been openly bragging about, like nuclear powered torpedos that can be launched from anywhere, including under the ice in the Arctic Ocean, and hit any target on a seacoast in the world, with a payload that can cause a tsunami, well that's just great.

China already demonstrated a nuclear capable hypersonic missile that can fly under the radar until it's seconds away, anywhere in the world, and is impossible to intercept except maybe if you know it's coming, you can do an air blast of a nuke, but that approach hardly sounds feasible.

This is the kind of stuff that us spending a trillion dollars a year on our military forces our adversaries to do.
