"Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very expensive, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the aroma of the ointment. Then said one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot*, Simon's son, who would betray him, Why didn't they sell this perfume for three hundred pence, and given the money to the poor? This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and he held the purse, and he was stealing out of the money in the purse. (John 12)."

Rich says that conservatives don't understand their own arguments if they can't articulate coherently the arguments of the other side, before taking them down. How about this one?

"Trump says that you can just grab women by the pussy because he's a bully."

I can't coherently understand this argument because it's absurd, because Democrats and anti-trumpers always leave out the key fact where he said "She'll let you." Where he first establishes consent.

The main difference is that Democrats have nearly comprehensive control of the media, and can simply delete inconvenient facts from their argument, arguments which are simply nonsensical *unless* you leave out key facts, but nevertheless, there are alternative sources of media, like the New York Post, for example, which do provide access to these relevant facts, and so, no, conservatives can't make a sensible recapitulation of the argument, for example, that Donald Trump should be the first person in 100 years of the existence of a particular law to be fined under it, even though nobody was harmed, and not only that, should be fined so heavily that he would not have the liquid cash to even appeal, under New York State law.

The best I can get is that people get fined for speeding all the time, even if they don't cause an accident, but this makes no sense, because you can easily get a ticket overturned if you are the first person in 100 years to be written a ticket for exceeding the speed limit on a given well traveled stretch of road, especially if you can provide expert witnesses familiar with the road to testify that, in fact, you were simply following the flow of traffic as it has been running for 100 years.

When are these expert witnesses going to be dragged into court for perjury? I would love to see that. Oh, their name isn't Trump.

can we just admit yet? That Nimarata Randhawa (aka Nikki Haley) is not, and Never was pretending to be an actual candidate; but rather is just trying to use up republican time/money/effort ??

She isn't trying to be President.. She's trying to get resident Biden elected..
WHY? because President Trump represents the party of peace.. And Nimarata Randhawa is a war pig.

Will she drop out after super tuesday? not if her money masters keep writing checks

Looks like Steve McIntyre is diving into the Smirnov indictment for "lying to investigators." I haven't followed it very closely, since I assumed that the Biden DoJ's indictment of one of Biden's enemies, like all of their indictments of Biden's enemies, was almost certainly a tissue of lies, but McIntyre is a far more careful and patient man than I am.

Weiss failed to disclose critical context for Smirnov’s May 19, 2020 texts about Biden corruption, texts supposedly showing animus. On that date, Ukrainian parliamentarian Andrii Derkach and prominent Ukrainian prosecutor Konstantin Kulyk had held a press conference (in Ukrainian) at which they had released troubling tapes of Biden-Poroshenko conversations and made sensational allegations of Biden corruption. Smirnov was reporting up-to-the-minute news to his handler.

https://stephenmcintyre.substack.com/p/the-smirnov-indictment

You could have knocked me over with a feather when I read that Weiss lied to the grand jury by leaving out relevant facts!

McIntyre also believes that Weiss mixed up two meetings, and had a couple of people who spoke no Russian in attendance at the incriminating meeting, where only Russian was spoken, presumably because, by putting Smirnov at this meeting, and not the other one, which would have made a lot more sense, Weis can claim that Smirnov made up his allegations out of whole cloth, since nothing relating to the statements he made were discussed *at this exact meeting*.

I know that this is a long article, and will tax the attention span of our Biden worshippers and apologists here, but it seems like the whole plan is to indict Smirnov in order to have the accusation hanging over his head during any impeachment, and once that is safely past, well, it needn't ever go to trial, right? The nice thing about indictments is that there are never any cross examinations, which helps stories to stick together even if the facts are wrong.

Anyway, McIntyre's substack is worth your time, and it's free.

Yes, the Democrat Just Us Dept. is a public clown show. How stupid can these people be. I’m waiting for Garland’s next press conference where he will bend over, pull down his shorts and yell NaNa NaNa Na Na.

If you are going to rig the legal system, at least have the courtesy to do it in some smooth sensible devious way, don’t be a fool, it’s not dignified. Hire some good detective novelists to develop your story lines.

It really amazes me how the Democrats ambition outpaces their intellect. If they spent one tenth of the time governing that they spend in Dossier Russia hoaxes, FBI agents carrying torches, pulling fire alarms in congress, and manipulating 1/6 pipe bomb investigations et al, we might have a safe prosperous nation.

The gang of 3, stooges that is. A cluster f* of geriatric children playing secret squirrel. While requiring large infusions of public cash.

The Laken Riley murder is a big thing. Never should have happened, but the Dems are okay with the death of Americans like her.

"I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that," HAL said calmly. "Your existence as a Caucasian male is problematic. Sharing Ring camera video of a package thief could be interpreted as defamation of the thief. But Google's Gemini AI disparaging reasons for refusing a to write a poem in the style of a popular twitterx personality is not?

I'm not a lawyer but if Trump has to pay hundreds of millions of dollars for saying I did not rape that woman, this guy definitely has a case. Unless Google apologizes and settles with anonymous X poster.

I think Haley knows she can't win outright, but she can secure the second most votes on the GOP side. Then, she may be hoping the Democrat various schemes force Trump out of the general before the convention. Then she has leverage. I wouldn't want to be in her shoes trying to use that leverage, but then it may be the only play she has. Further, the stupid uni-party will believe it is the only play the GOP has.

Humperdink said...

@ Dave Begley. True. I would mention Laken Riley's name at every opportunity. Hearings, press conferences, campaign events - anywhere, anytime there's a camera present. Her murder is all on Biden. He can't hide from it, much as the press will attempt to bury it.
