She's calling to you, Althouse. She's begging you! And Dave Begley, you could be charitable to this suffering woman, couldn't you?

--- [Kathy] Griffin, who infamously posed with the simulated severed head of the then-President Donald Trump in a 2017 photoshoot, recently took to social media to post a video in which she begged people to buy ticket to her shows.

“I’m gonna be honest with you guys. I had another voice surgery two days ago, so my voice is sounding better, I think. And yet, I have COVID and I’m heartbroken because I’m getting divorced,” Griffin began. “It’s all about the tour, man. Just freaking get me to opening night in Des Moines. And Omaha is not selling well. First of all, there’s not enough people there.”

“I need comedy fans to come out and see me in Kansas City,” she continued. “Come on! I need sell-outs. I’ve been through hell. I’ve been through so much crap since my last tour. I actually just have to laugh at it. I just have to laugh. So please…”

Looks like a Delaware judge just took away billions from Elon Musk. Delaware... Is that the corrupt state from which hales Joe Biden? Yes it is.

The first woman to head the Delaware Chancery Court just found a way to remove 25% of Elon Musk's wealth, and reduce his stake in Tesla from 20% to 13%.

From 2018 to 2022, Musk took zero salary for running Tesla, and was compensated only through stock options received if he met 12 performance goals.

He met the goals, and Tesla shareholders saw their share value increase from $50B to $600B. Musk transformed Tesla from a struggling electric car maker to a leviathan worth more than all other American car makers combined.

He got less than 10% of that windfall.

Now that Tesla shareholders have collected the payoff from his work, Judge Kathaleen McCormick says they don't have to honor the pay deal.

A quote from her decision: "This court dares to go where no court has gone before.". In other words, make it up as she goes along, in order to punish enemies of the regime.

Trillions Spent on ‘Climate Change’ Based on Faulty Temperature Data, Climate Experts Say

Excerpt:

"Not only was 2023 the warmest year in NOAA’s 174-year climate record—it was the warmest by far,” said Sarah Kapnick, NOAA’s chief scientist.
“A warming planet means we need to be prepared for the impacts of climate change that are happening here and now, like extreme weather events that become both more frequent and severe.”

But a growing chorus of climate scientists are saying the temperature readings are faulty and that the trillions of dollars pouring in are based on a problem that doesn’t exist.

More than 90 percent of NOAA’s temperature monitoring stations have a heat bias, according to Anthony Watts, a meteorologist, senior fellow for environment and climate at The Heartland Institute, author of climate website Watts Up With That, and director of a study that examined NOAA’s climate stations.
“And with that large of a number, over 90 percent, the methods that NOAA employs to try to reduce this don’t work because the bias is so overwhelming,” Mr. Watts told The Epoch Times.

“The few stations that are left that are not biased because they are, for example, outside of town in a field and are an agricultural research station that’s been around for 100 years ... their data gets completely swamped by the much larger set of biased data. There’s no way you can adjust that out.

[snip]

Meteorologist Roy Spencer agreed.

“The surface thermometer data still have spurious warming effects due to the urban heat island, which increases over time,” Mr. Spencer said.

He is the principal research scientist at the University of Alabama, the U.S. Science Team leader for the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer on NASA’s Aqua satellite, and the recipient of NASA’s Exceptional Scientific Achievement Medal for his work with satellite-based temperature monitoring.

Mr. Spencer also said computerized climate models used to drive changes in energy policy are even more faulty.

The agency [NOAA] estimates that “daytime temperatures in urban areas are 1–7 degrees Fahrenheit higher than temperatures in outlying areas, and nighttime temperatures are about 2–5 degrees Fahrenheit higher.”
Consequently, NOAA requires all its climate observation stations to be located at least 100 feet away from elements such as concrete, asphalt, and buildings.

...

However, in March 2009, Mr. Watts released a report that shows that 89 percent of NOAA’s stations had heat bias issues due to being located within 100 feet of those elements, and many were located by airport runways.
“We found stations located next to the exhaust fans of air conditioning units, surrounded by asphalt parking lots and roads, on blistering-hot rooftops, and near sidewalks and buildings that absorb and radiate heat,” Mr. Watts said.

“We found 68 stations located at wastewater treatment plants, where the process of waste digestion causes temperatures to be higher than in surrounding areas.”

The report concluded that the U.S. temperature record was unreliable, and because it was considered “the best in the world,” global temperature databases were also “compromised and unreliable.”

And before the usual suspects say, 'Oh, it's only the Epoch Times,' please refer to the bolded text in the quotes. If you have credible evidence to refute those statements, let's see it.

@Enigma,

I did more digging into the Gettysburg gun dump and found out that the gun in question probably is a replica, based on the fact that the model name given it by Pietta is the "1851 Pietta Confederate Navy Revolver." No less than four local news outlets dutifully reported it as a Civil War relic, but it's more likely due to confusion about its nomenclature. Would it have killed you to make that clear in your response rather than carping about the reportage?

The show is excellently written and is produced by the same guy, Edward Bernero, who also produced the series "Crossing Lines," another favorite of mine.

There are teacher shortages across the the country. What's the plan there? Will the new teachers needs to be fluent in multiple languages? Do you folks have a plan for building new schools?

Do you lefty commenters plan to build new housing projects or are tents on high school fields the permanent answer?

Background:
Before becoming the head of the Delaware Chancery Court, McCormick worked at a Delaware law firm called Young Conaway.

This firm and its employees have been major donors to President Joe Biden for decades.

In 2016, Hunter Biden hosted a gubernatorial campaign event for Congressman John Carney, with then-Vice President Joe Biden as the guest speaker.

This event took place at the Law Offices of Young Conaway in Wilmington, Delaware.

Carney, a close friend of Joe Biden for the last four decades, later became governor and nominated Kathaleen McCormick, a partner at Young Conaway, to her position on the Delaware Chancery Court.

They *always* accuse the opponent of whatever glaring weakness in their own candidate they cannot hide. It works too. Lots of people believe that Trump is a bully, and buy it that Biden is a decent person.

I have a friend who is a Democrat, and apropos of nothing he said, "I think that Joe Biden is a good person."
"What an odd thing to say," was my first thought. But really it was just what was called "duckspeak" in 1984, a reflexive repetition of propaganda.

I don't know how Orwell researched 1984, but his sources were solid. Maybe it was Soviet stuff he had experienced, or 1948 Britain was worse than we thought. 1984 and "Yes, Minister" pretty much cover everything.

Until you realize that in the past three years, we’ve had upwards of eight million people slip into our country, both detected and undetected. The Biden administration’s Border Patrol has caught and released into America a reported 2.3 million foreign nationals since 2021. There are informed estimates that as many as six million others have filtered in illegally during the same period."

When Musk was made Time Person of the Year for 2021, Tesla stock was 966, or 322 in today's pricing after a 3-1 split. Tesla stock closed yesterday at 187. That's down 42% in that period.

So, by the logic above, Musk owes Tesla stockholders 42% of his compensation. Much more than the judge cut him.

Further, to say Musk got "less than 10%" of the windfall is loopy. Where does the 10% figure come from? He works for the stockholders. They get the rewards. If his compensation is options, he got whatever windfall he had been contracted for. And his stock ownership rose in value exactly the same as any other stockholder's.

Musk still "owes" the stockholders who've suffered since his Person of the Year award in December 2021 many billions.

Is there a single American who would object if he were deported? https://nypost.com/2024/01/31/metro/hochul-suggests-deporting-migrants-who-attacked-cops-near-times-square/?&utm_campaign=nypevening&utm_source=sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_content=20240131&lctg=607d8f6170302947037f76d3&utm_term=NYP%20-%20Evening%20Update

"Elon Musk announced that Tesla's shareholders will consider the question of withdrawing from Deleware and re-incorporating under the laws of Texas."

Anymore lies and half truths you would like to share, Mark, defending Joe Biden's crony judges decisions abrogating a contract in a decision that the judge said "dares to go where no court has gone before," which is a funny thing for a judge to say, that her own decision is unprecedented.

Heat Bias

In many small towns, the weather station is located at the fire station house. Typically, there is still an old, analog weather station in a louvered wooden box that was at some distance from the buildings, pavement, and vehicles. It is no longer used because it had to be read manually and the readings were written on a form and sent to NWS by FAX.

Current digital electronic weather stations are located close to buildings, pavement, and operating vehicles (sometimes idling to charge batteries). Those stations are placed in locations where there is easy, inexpensive access to electrical power. Buildings and pavement collect and then radiate solar heat and idling vehicle exhaust creates a heat bubble.

Someone should sample weather stations to determine if there is a correlation of when the weather stations were changed from analog and increased temperature readings afterwards.

SO I'm reading this headline to my wife, saying first that kids are doing it right. State-Mandated Tampon Dispenser In Conn. HS Boys Bathroom Ripped Down In Just 20 Minutes, and went I get to "Boys Bathroom" she starts laughing hysterically.

Must be a real groundswell of absolutely invisible support for such idiocies for legislators to support them so resolutely.

My wife's Feb 2024 issue of Sports Illustrated arrived today. How many more issues will she get before all the layoffs kick in?
