A little bird, not named after a racist historical character, told me that the Rolling Stone band latest album included a track remake of their hit song Sympathy for the Devil. The song was said to be about the orange hair former president on account of some altered lyrics. Sources say Symphathy for Trump was shelved because their drummer, who has since moved on to that band in the sky, would not have approved a naked political endorsement. They “have never done it before so why should they start now”.

Maybe the band will release it at a time when political fervor is diminished. Keith Richards will know when the time is right.

Choice!

I thank the Prof for her TikTok 'after the jump' policy. I don't want to see them w/o choice or warning.

Wouldn't be prudent.

While our government spends millions and billions on Ukraine, Palestine, Illegal entrants, Homelessness and drug vagrants... The people of Lahaina Maui are still struggling.

The following is from a blast e-mail I received. I hope it is OK that I cut and paste it here.
It's just an FYI on what is happening there - from a local artist whose family lived thru the fire.

Lahaina Fires Fund Raiser

UPDATE #2: It's been almost 13 weeks since our devastating Lahaina wildfire. Maui is still struggling, especially the residents who lost their homes or are displaced. Tourism has opened on the west side forcing many residents out of hotels, a lot of them with no where to go. Most of our friends are moving from place to place or have scattered around the island or even to the mainland.

Thanks to your support we have now donated at total of $20,000 directly to 50 families. We have also given out 50 jewelry items to those who lost theirs and a lot of art supplies to artist who lost their studios. We want to give more. Our list of families to help is still extremely long. Please consider purchasing some glass, jewelry, paintings, or even a gift card so we can continue our efforts.

Not only homes, but businesses and schools are struggling to find space. We are currently being faced with the fact that we may have to move out of our studio space because a school with higher priority than us wants the space. This will displace 3 businesses (including us) and 2 residents. We will find out soon if this is a harsh reality.

Lovely art you can buy to help.

I just wanted to emphasize that. Because of another comment I went looking for The Mad Miss Manton. Couldn’t find it anywhere - but there it is at Archive.org
Thanks KellyM

Headline: 'Misogyny and racism': Stacey Abrams targets Kamala Harris' critics ahead of 2024

I heard this in the news today. Georgia has burdens to bear.

Apparently some pieces of Audrey Hale's manifesto have finally leaked out. No one seems to be saying that what has leaked is not part of the manifesto, but there seems to be an implication that there's more (which everyone knows) and that it's worse. Considering how frightening the released portion is, it must be very, very bad indeed.

I have read a report that Hale was on hormone therapy. Is this confirmed? I'm wondering whether the doctors who were giving her this therapy -- if in fact she was receiving it -- were doing a proper job of monitoring her and adjusting the dosages. I've always doubted that the bodies of biological women were capable of absorbing high dosages of testosterone, and what I've read is true then Hale may just be patient zero for that reality.

I'm really surprised there is no post about how upset the Yanomami tribe is over Matthew Perry. They really love watching 'Friends.'

Things being muted in the ME

More than twice as many U.S. service members may have been injured in recent attacks in Iraq and Syria than the Pentagon previously disclosed, U.S. defense officials said on Monday. At least 45 Americans are reporting minor injuries or potential traumatic brain injuries.

The military is monitoring approximately two dozen service members who may have suffered traumatic brain injuries (TBI) during the attacks, which are believed to have been carried out by groups with links to Iran, according to U.S. defense officials.

The Defense Department has previously said 21 service members received minor injuries in attacks on U.S. forces at al-Tanf in southern Syria and on al-Asad air base in western Iraq late last month. The officials attributed the increase to more reports of possible traumatic brain injuries from those attacks. The number of possible TBI cases is likely to change over the coming weeks and months as troops who report mild symptoms initially could be cleared or as more individuals with symptoms could come forward.

I might not like what you post, but you don't deserve feeling threatened on your way to your car.

Here's the answer to a common taunt hurled at the Israeli Jews:

"I don’t care if you think we are colonialists, imperialists and settlers and that we should just go back to where we came from.

We are back to where we came from."

"That is so very lovely."

Thanks. It was much better in person. The photo doesn't capture how vivid the light was. And I'm disappointed that the tree on the left looks so bulky and the evergreen in front of it is reminiscent of telephone wires. And I didn't notice that I'd framed it with one thin, straight tree right in the middle.

It's really hard to photograph the light in the woods in the middle of the day (as opposed to dawn)! You think something looks great, but you can't capture it.

This comment needs “Jerry Lewis” and “France” tags.

Gazans vote for Hamas. Hamas follows policies that lead to the deaths of thousands of Gazans and the destruction of their communities. The entire world is objectively damaged due to their choices.
American Jews vote for Democrats. Democrats follow policies that lead to the deaths of thousands of Jews in the middle east, attacks on Jewish culture in the US and Europe, widespread Jew hate in the Western world, overtly antisemitic policies in powerful American institutions. The entire world is objectively damaged due to their choices.

A case can be made the Gazans were thrown off the streetcar of democracy once it started its journey. American Jews have a chance now to change the direction that the streetcar is on, with their votes, their money, and their choices. We'll see.

Is that................James woods?

Wendy.
You know as well as I do that the NTs and anti-Trump left will never vote for him. They are driven by ideology and raw emotion. They are so tightly engrossed in their own narrative they can't imagine anything else. I.E. Robert Cook," My 401K is doing fine therefore the economy is doing fine." "Biden saved us." Readering. "I'll vote for Biden again."
The madness of the mob, Wendy.

Should be an easy fix using any of photo-editing apps widely available nowadays.

Instead of one approved version of reality brutally imposed by powers that be, nowadays we have millions version of realty floating around.

‘1984’ became a series of flash mob events.

When she went into labor, she went to work.

She took a printout of a problem she was working on to the hospital. She called her boss and said she finished the problem and gave birth to Jack Black.
