Bill Maher is not a very good spokesman for The Jews. They'd get a lot more sympathy if they replaced him with somebody who isn't an asshole.

DSA is a fringe group akin to the the Freedom Caucus on the extreme right. In these times in particular we need more reasonable moderate politicians. These fringe groups are tearing our country apart bit by bit.

Dave Begley said...

Trump didn’t really say that, but good joke.

Iman said...

This asshole still clings to that Charlottesville fairy tale, when what was said by Trump has been documented and available for review.

It appears many of our college students have been brainwashed by the malevolent, leftwing stooges of academia.

WWIII Joe Biden, Husk-Puppet + America's Putin said...

Lots of Trump obsession in there. oi.

Maher is a nasty piece of work. "Full Trump"? Trump was referring to people who disagreed about taking down statues of Confederate figures like Robert E. Lee, not about slaughtering innocent civilians. And he throws in the "far right" slur to cover the far left's Jew-hatred. Can he name a single Republican in Congress who has criticized Israel for declaring war on Hamas, unlike "The Squad," who demand that Israel stand down, and who (except for AOC) can't even bring themselves to condemn the Hamas attacks?

wendybar said...

Except, Trumps words were taken out of context and the Marxist kids really do want Jews dead.

Ron Winkleheimer said...

Bill Maher: still struggling to see current events through an 80s filter. I'm pretty sure he would consider me "far-right" but I have always been against murdering babies.

gilbar said...

of course.. That's NOT what the college kids said. They said one side (israel) was EVIL

Leland said...

Everything about that joke is wrong.

Correction: Ultra-MAGA is not anti-Semitic.

This doosh thinks the Russian collusion propaganda was ‘not nothing’. He lost credibility as a comedian long ago and has lost credibility for whatever he is now.

MadTownGuy said...

Maher's self-awareness is lacking. Tarring everyone who is not to the left of Trotsky as "far-right" and going on to claim that they hate the Jews is ridiculous.

I feel bad for Palestinians who live in a territory where politics is ruled by death squads, and who are now facing the bombs. Any leader who arises who is genuinely looking for peace is going to get assassinated. I don't think that that makes me anti-semitic.

But propaganda is about simplifying every situation down to the slogan that helps your side the most, no matter how many facts and issues are tossed aside, and thinking deeply about any conflict proves that the thinking person is evil.

There were fine people on both sides of the debate over the removal of Confederate statues, but we all are constantly told that it is not possible that that was what Trump was thinking about because Trump is obviously a racist, and the proof that he is a racist is that he said that there were very nice people on both sides of the debate.

Face it, the world belongs to the low IQs and the high IQ people who are craven enough to manipulate the low IQs and good enough at it so that the low IQs think that they are thinking for themselves. I can't honestly say if Maher is low IQ, or a high IQ manipulator, or maybe he has just cravenly joined in the manipulation to keep the money and the women coming.

In the US, the ratio of far-left faculty lounge strong anti-semites, to far-right true kill-the-Jews neo-Nazis, is over 100 to 1.

Once again a blood libel is used against Trump, in the headline here. And I bet the turkey that Bush showed the troops in Iraq was made of plastic, right? C'mon, man! Stop continuing the lie that Trump equated Nazis with good people.

Lloyd W. Robertson said...

It is hard to find anyone on the radical right in the U.S., even with diligent searching, at least one fake kidnapping, ginning up the J6 events, etc.

Sadly, people on the radical left are thick on the ground, especially on college campuses and among recent grads.

In the Great Depression of 30s the U.S. mostly avoided radicalism, to the chagrin of the fanatics. Perhaps FDR provided an outlet for utopian hopes, and kept the peace.

I haven't heard any of the college Hamas supporters suggest that there were any good people on the Israeli side - unless this refers to the Israelis who were killed (in the "only good Jew is a dead Jew" kind of way).

Aggie said...

A favorite trick of Nazis and Marxists is to de-humanize their political enemies, paving the way to an easier persecution and eventual pogrom. Maher, putting that tactic on display himself, makes himself too easy to dislike. He's apparently unaware that his greatest, indulgent tolerance is probably coming from the people he targets with derision.

As a Jew, he knows that Trump has Jewish family members in his immediate circle. But as an atheist, he is comfortable with the lie, because he's standing on the 'power' side of the equation. For now, Bill - for now. You're not standing with people known for their unwavering solidarity.

I am having a hard time with everything being equated to hating the Jews. The idea that Jews don't fuck up, and no one can be pissed at them for anything, ever - including bad ideas that have been going on, violently, for almost 80 years - is just collective madness.

All of this is ultimately religious bullshit.

The Crack Emcee said...

By the way, Bill Maher hasn't even learn to be funny, but he expects everyone else to agree with him. Before this attack happened, we were all commenting on how stupid he and Sam Harris are being. Now he's the authority on what's-what because he's a Jew?

He seems to have also forgotten he's also an atheist, and its religion and other bullshit beliefs that's causing most of our problems.

"The college kids in America went full Trump and said there [is/has/was] very fine people on both sides."

"The bad news is it [is/has/was] that they both hate the Jews."

Seems Maher is trying to assert without evidence that Trump hates Jews.

So, the Israelis are in the car being attacked by Antifa... Hamas. The same thing progressed with Some, Select [Black]... Baby Lives Matter into a national insurrection. Perhaps another transJordan to abort the second state solution that has left us with the modern state of dysfunctional diversity, equity, and inclusion that is a "burden "... burden for Jews, Christians, Muslims, atheists, and others alike.

He is correct. However, while the "far left" is increasingly influential, the influence of the "far right" is minimal except in the delusions or fabrications of the far left.

Mike of Snoqualmie said...

Maher mistakenly equates the KKK and Nazis as far right. They are far left, and Democrat boot scrapings.

Following the logic on Confederate statues, the Colosseum should be torn down because it was built by slaves. If we destroyed every building built by forced labor and every piece of art honoring people who accepted forms of forced human servitude, Europe would look like Ohio, and we may as well just burn the libraries and art museums.

rcocean said...

what is the dogface boy doing these days? Is he now a PROUD JEW or his still asserting he's an athiest that hates ALL religions?

I'm still puzzled as to what has happened in the USA in 2023, that makes anyone think the Far left and the Far Right "hate Jews"? Anyone want to cite specific actions and statements?

Hamas doesn't have American citizenship, last time I looked. Of course if they decide to come here over our open borders and become "Sainted Immigrants" that could change.

Content aside, I don't think Maher is a good comedian. His timing and rhythm is flat. He's neither wry nor lively

And it sounds like there were some professional laughers in the audience.

Now that was uncalled for. Funny as hell. but uncalled for.

At Lem @11:58am

You probably also think the Steele Dossier was debunked, but this is Bill Maher, and he still believes in fairy tales.

I'm still trying to figure out what college students claimed there was fine people on both sides? It seems to me that come think what Hamas did was reasonable while others seem to think that Israel is free to destroy Hamas now. Seems like neither thinks the other are fine people. And that's the real problem with the joke. Trump said what he said as an attempt to bring both sides together. Maher's not doing that. He is ridiculing that very notion.

Trump was talking about protesters... not blood soaked mass murdering Nazi Hamas scum.

You guys know as much about music as you do Israel. Put your money where your mouth is, D: I bet you $100 that I can keep posting examples of me making good music longer than you can keep *credibly* insisting that I can't. Let's start here: a 13 minute portion of a live show in San Francisco. Lower your volume - not the best sound quality - but, once your ears adjust, you can hear audience members saying I'm good and some even screaming out my name at the end ("Crack Emcee is in the house!"). Now:

*Credibly* tell everyone those folks are lying, or come back and ask me for my PayPal account.

Crack. I don't doubt for a minute your music is good. My Nephew is good as well. Very well known in this Midwest cicuit. Cut several CDs. Even got air time in a couple of Chicago radio stations. Signed a record contract that never went anywhere.
He works for a brokerage firm. I do know a lot about Israel, in fact.

And the best part is... all the "very fine people" on the Democrat side who might be (somewhat) embarrassed to be publicly identified as aligned with "that level of complicity" would still be mad at you for pointing it out, not at themselves for harboring such deception.
