"Since the attacks by Hamas on Israel last weekend, Ukraine has sought to position itself as a friend of Israel, while asserting that Moscow would try to use the conflict..."

"... to drive a wedge between Ukraine and the countries that support it. Russia, for its part, has said that Israel’s war in Gaza shows the failure of the West and in particular U.S. policy in the region.... ... Ukraine’s military intelligence chief, Kyrylo Budanov, accused Moscow of sending weapons to Hamas that Russian forces had captured on the battlefield in Ukraine. He said this was an apparent attempt by the Kremlin to discredit President Volodymyr Zelensky’s government by making Israel think Ukraine was supporting Hamas.... Hamas’s attack on Israel has offered Ukraine’s government an opportunity to draw attention to links between Hamas and Iran.... Tehran has supplied thousands of exploding drones to Russia over the past year.... But the war between Israel and Hamas has come at a difficult moment for Ukraine, diverting attention from its own conflict at a time when its counteroffensive has made limited progress and there are signs that support from some of its allies may be slipping...."

From "As World’s Eyes Shift, Ukraine and Russia Look to Sway Opinions"

It's the emphasis on swaying opinions, right now, that offends me the most. Once a war starts, people will not let you have your own opinion. I have never been to Israel and don't plan on going, but - for some reason - I have to be supportive of everything they do.

It just doesn't make any sense to me and it's not American.

WTF is Zelensky going to do for Israel with his Nazi army already losing a war. Ask the United States for money so they can pretend to send it to Israel?

Ukraine is sooooo yesterday....

Support from "allies" was waning long before the Hamas attack on festival goers. Ukraine was trying to dump its grain on the EU market undercutting the exports of said allies in the region. When they said, "what the hell"; Zelensky did his bit of claiming they were Putin stooges, so they decided to forego sending their military weaponry to Ukraine and just use it to protect themselves from Putin.

Sounds like weapons delivery is a booming Bidenomics bonanza. 🤦🏽‍♂️

I can just hear Althouse good friend Mad Money Kramer saying Buy! Buy! Buy!

When the “silver lining” is in bad taste… or something.

Ukraine's problem has always been that it can't win its war without active NATO troops and airpower, but NATO can't give that kind of support without risking WWIII. Israel, on the other hand, can win its war without NATO troops or air power. Ukraine is going to be left out in the cold, and this was going to happen regardless of what is happening in Israel.

I get the feeling everyone is suffering from Zelensky fatigue, and the Israeli Hamas conflict will increase that. One problem for Ukraine is the USA will probably switch over to supplying Israel with more weapons/ammo and cutting down on supplies to Ukraine.

Plus all the USA elite that were pushing for aid to Ukraine, like Miss Lindsey, are all switching over to increasing aid to Israel.

In fact, Biden could decide to force Ukraine to negotiate and stop the war, in order to concentrate on IRan and the Middle East. Hope so, anyway.

The world's eyes do tend to shift from a fake iPhone 4 war to a real one in 4K.

Joe Biden's Crime Family hit hardest.

Have any of Joe Biden's family denounced him yet? Or do they side with the terrorist funders and baby head whackers?

There's still time, Ashley, to get on the winning team and make many more dollars than Doddlin' Joe can ever provide you.

White House Press Corps, interviewing the Black Lesbian tomorrow:

WHPC: "Karine, what does the $6 billion that President Biden gave to Iran for hostages have to do with Israel?"

KJP: "I don't understand your question, because I'm stupid."

WHPC: "Well, why is President Biden and Qatar trying to 'refreeze' the hostage payments?

KJP: "Well, because we don't want that money to be used to fund Palestinian terrorists who murder women, parade them around town, you know ... cut heads off of babies and stuff, of course, because that's our policy today."

WHPC: "Well, why wasn't that your policy yesterday you stupid b|tch?"

Yeah. We all know that those honest-as-the-day-is-long Ukrainians certainly didn't load those Ukrainian weapons on ships and sell them to the highest bidder even though there have been stories bout this almost since the war started.

Simple logic is that "you can't prove a negative" in any complex scenario, and Zelensky is claiming that Putin must have done it because Ukraine has accounted for every weapon delivered to their troops. Basically Zelensky is just throwing shit against the wall because logically, he can't possibly know what happened, or possibly prove that what he is saying is true.

I hope Ukraine kicks Russia's ass somewhere to the level of its ears.
I hope Israel destroys Hamas.

There're more than enough Nazi idiots (Russia, Hamas) that need to have this lesson delivered. Including the Russian and Hamas apologists.

Unconditional surrender, military tribunals for Hamas war crimes, death to the guilty, and removal of all Hamas party members (all of Gaza?) to Qatar or Iran or whoever else has been paying for them up to now.

Kievan junta and Hamas have one major thing in common. Both exist due to their ability to undermine a bigger and stronger neighbor State. Hamas is engaged in never-ending war against Israel and Kievan junta is engaged in never-ending war against Russian Federation. That may seem suicidal but apparently it is good business for Hamas and Kievan leaderships. Hamas is holding hostage 2 million Palestinian people in Gaza and Kievan junta is holding hostage 20 million people in Ukraine, using them as human shields and brainwashing them for recruitment of suicidal fighters. Brainwashing techniques are remarkably similar, appealing to some old and misrepresented national grievances.

When some power wants to make an "investment" in killing Russians and weakening Russian state, they contact junta in Kiev. When some power wants to kill Jews and weaken Israel, they contact Hamas in Gaza.

So...the fact that Russia invaded Ukraine for the expressed purpose of overthrowing the Ukranian government is a misrepresented national grievance? I am just not seeing the Ukraine/Hamas equivalence.

Hamas conducted a horrific terrorist attack, Ukraine was invaded by the Russian army. Maybe I just missed the sarcasm in the post.

* Palestine's politics were revealed when supporters reveled in death and showed Nazi symbols

Maybe the real issue here is to confront latent Nazism? Maybe the real issue is to confront the lack of self-reflection in the boiled-frog twisted morality of Establishment/Left governments worldwide? "We had to destroy the village to save it."

Let us not forget we are a year away from Presidential elections, and the Ukraine war has become quite unpopular with voters of all parties. Now, the border issues are unpopular, too - but, one thing at a time. The Ukraine grifting has diverted billions and millions, to all the right beltway pockets, but now it's value is best seen in the rear view mirror - behind. Look! A shiny new offensive in Israel! What a golden opportunity. Put Zelensky on 'Hold' until he hangs up.

You totally missed on 10 years of history. Educate yourself about events in Ukraine since 2013.

Hamas and Kievan junta are Terrorist entities. Israel and Russian Federation are established States, warts and all.

Russian bad deeds are well known. There were horrific things done by Israel, too. Same applies to all established entities in the World. For example, certain isolated excerpts from history of United States, or Catholic Church, are also quite horrifying. That is why it is important to have a comprehensive view of History on the Balance.

On the Balance, Civilization and Culture were making steady advances in Russia, however slow and precarious. Civilization and Culture are making steady advances in Israel. With all their problems, continuing existence of Israel and Russian states promises better future for the World. Kievan and Hamas terrorists are dedicated only to destruction. Hamas is dedicated to destruction of Israel and Kievan junta is dedicating to breaking up Russian Federation. They have no other goals. They don't care what happens if they succeed.

The future with successful Israel and Russia is tenable. The future with Hamas and Kievan junta is unthinkable.
