"On the one hand I think: surely this will be sufficient.... Surely no one can equivocate or justify this...."

"Here you can watch people gathered at the Sydney Opera House cheering 'gas the Jews' and 'death to the Jews.' People are rejoicing in the slaughter on the streets of Berlin and London and Toronto and New York.... At our most prestigious universities there is silence.... Meantime, the social justice crowd offers explanations for the massacre—a massacre that, in part, targeted a group of progressive Israelis at a music festival.... Now we know who would have looked at Jews shoved onto cattle cars and said, 'Well, they did undermine the German economy.' Those are the people today saying: 'This is a justified response to the provocation of Israel existing.' Now we know whose politics are rooted not in conservatism or liberalism or anything else other than simply hating Jews. Now we can see exactly how people manage to always come up with a reason for why the Jews deserved it...."

In each generation of war and killing, the passive, the weak, and the trusting sheep die. The survivors say "never again" and get pragmatic with reality -- then their children soften and their grandchildren have no memory of the Whos, Whats, and Whys. Remembrance was the justification for building a holocaust museum in D.C. despite the fact that the holocaust happened in Germany/Poland. Remembrance was also the justification for preserving the sunken battleship Arizona in Pearl Harbor. Remembrance of 9/11 is why the World Trade Center footprint was turned into a park and museum in NYC.

The left (worldwide) has forgotten everything it stood for just 30 to 40 years ago. They are the smug, self-righteous, rigid, know-it-all conservatives of this era. Especially the long-soft Canadians, Aussies, New Zealanders, Germans, etc. Inch by inch corruption, half-truths, ideological superstitions, and ignorance ate them alive. Trump, COVID, China, Ukraine, Gaza all show this clearly.

When I people say "gas the Jews" I just shake my head. They are ignorant of the scriptures. Do not revel in Jewish misery. Throughout the old testament those countries/ cultures that went against the Jews paid a heavy price. Sometimes immediately, sometimes later. Be certain that regardless of when, the price will be paid.

It is shocking how morally bankrupt our young people are. They have no red lines when it comes to pushing an agenda. No ability to see when the “good guys” become the “bad guys” and then force a calibration of their own thinking. Heaven forbid they accept they’ve been wrong about anything, even something that could reap such atrocities on civilians.

It should now be clear to all Americans by now. Today’s Left is populated with insane and evil people and there is no reconciling with them. Let’s count the ways:

- Support of Hamas
- Support of CAGW
- Support of trans for kids
- Support of BLM
- Support for open borders
- Support for lowering the age of consent
- Support for massive government spending that leads to ruinous spending
- Support of porn in school libraries
- Support for legalization of pot
- Support for election cheating

If I have left anything out, feel free to add.

The Democrat party hates America and is destroying it.

I love it. To claim that the creation of Israel stole someone's home means you hate the Jews. As surely as the claim that America stole blacks reparations means you hate white people. Neither of these are political acts, that were done in times of racism, and after other dishonest acts, like letting Nazis come into our country to run the space program.

You just hate the Jews.

The modern protest movement is built around a framework that sees the world as oppressor and oppressed, with oppressor being the one "with power" and the oppressed being the one "without power." In this framework, everything bad is the fault of the oppressor. And because everything is the fault of the oppressor, the oppressed is free to behave in any manner they want because, no matter what, it's somebody else's fault.

We are seeing in Gaza the logical conclusion of Woke--where no barbarity is pinned on the people who did it. Gaza is an "open air prison" and therefore it is Israel's fault if Palestinians cut the heads off babies.

And because everything is Israel's fault, they have no right of self-defense--self defense against what? Against who? They are the oppressors and oppressors don't need to defend themselves. They need to stop oppressing.

Islam is pre-Nazism. The Quran calls out for the destruction of the Jews. It requires everyone to convert to Islam, on either the payment of a tax to remain Christian or Jewish or death. Pagans, Hindus, etc. get no option, convert or die.

Of course, Islam has split into many sects, all of which hate each other. Sunni and Shia sects wage war for dominance. So even though Islam is religious fascism, there will never be a unified Islam.

People rejoicing in the slaughter in Israel on the streets of Berlin, London, Toronto, New York, and even in Kirkland, WA (about 35-miles from Snoqualmie) are barbarians.

Here and around the world, however, we see public displays of support for Hamas. Current events have flushed out the many Nazis in our midst."

When people here say they're against reparations, I don't assume it means they hate blacks, but that they disagree with a policy. It's the same thing with Israel: There is nothing, about saying Churchill shouldn't have taken the Palestinians land, that says you hate Jews. It just means you think the policy was wrong, and the oh, so ethical Jews went along with it, serving themselves under trying circumstances - and now putting those circumstances on someone else. While that paints them in a more unethical light, it hardly means you hate the Jews.

I'll say it again: if you have another narrative, that's more convincing than that one, then I would start putting it out there, because few people - including even supporters of Jews - believe the one promoted.

That's not fair.
Nazis knew killing Jews was wrong.
That's why they did it in secret, mostly in Poland at isolated death camps (Auschwitz, Majdanek, Treblinka, Sobibor, Chelmno, Belzec).
At war's end covered over their crimes, burned documents, destroyed gas chambers & denied it after.
Hamas is bragging about murdering Jews, posting videos on social media & declaring "Allahu Akbar"
If you do not support Israel & the Jews, you are literally worse than the Nazis.
Congratulations.
After studying the Holocaust & its deniers for 30 years I didn't think it possible anyone could top that.

This should be the death of anti-Zionism ≠ antisemitism movement. But it won't be.

It should be the death of antifa, who find fascists and Nazis everywhere they aren't but not where they are, marching in the street proclaiming death to Jews. But it won't be.

It should be the end of opinion columns masked as objective reporting. But it won't be.

It should be the end of the growth of wokeness on campus, but it won't be unless there's a reckoning with alumni donations.

It should be the end of our open Southern border, but it won't be until there's an actual attack.

I know the history of pogroms in Ukraine from a personal POV. My first, late wife, was a second generation Ukrainian/American Jew who grew up in Skokie, IL. In the 1950s and 60s, Skokie was predominantly populated by Polish and Ukrainian Jews who had fled their native lands to escape the constant pogroms. U.S. propaganda in support of the current war in Ukraine has attempted to conceal and rationalize this history. In my opinion, the CIA installed Zelensky, a Jew, in Ukraine in a clever propaganda move to convince Americans that this history of pogroms was a thing of the past.

Russia has its own history of anti-semitism that I will not attempt to minimize. However, Putin’s claims that Nazism and anti-semitism are still dominant in Ukraine are probably true.

Weiss’ most salient point in that we no longer claim to not understand how the Nazi’s were able to implement the Holocaust with little to no pushback from people.

All of this goes hand-in-hand with the tendency for too many people to be more interested in narrative confirmation instead of seeking the truth.

Gaza has been offered up in a "martyrdom operation." We shall see what this brings.

The point isn't that we are going to see Gaza die. The point is that those who offer Gaza up for death seek any justification they can for the end of Israel, by any means. The Israeli (and our) reaction is the goal. The cost of many millions of Muslim lives are just an irrelevancy to achieve the goal of Israel's end, because as long as it exists the world can see that Allah is not supreme over all and man is allowed to exist in heresy. To those who have brought this about, this condition is directly counter to the way the world works, and if it continues to work in this way the world itself must be brought to an end. This is the will of Allah, and after this happens the will of Allah will continue to be done. Inshallah.

That's the part that chills me to the core. The tools are available to make this happen. The times are going to get even more interesting.

Now we know whose politics are rooted not in conservatism or liberalism or anything else other than simply hating Jews.

I'm not convinced antisemitism is their motivation. These are people who have been taught for years, Critical Theory style, to always see the world in terms of who's oppressed and who's the oppressor. Who has power and who doesn't.
In that world view the designated oppressed party is always the good guys and the designated oppressor is always the bad guys. This world view is always a vast oversimplification, but it suits internet political persuasion very well.
If you asked these same supposed antisemites, who are the good guys and who are the bad guys between Republicans and Jews in America, they'd side with the Jews every time, because they have been taught to see them as a racial minority oppressed by a racial majority with more power.
I like Bari Weiss, she's really smart and tends to be well informed, but she's on the left and the left needs to take some responsibility for the way many, many people, especially young people, think and see the world now. The left has been in charge of education in the west for a long time now. Also, people are very easily manipulated by empathy triggers online. The sharing of these triggers quickly escalates into a network swarm. These swarms are sometimes created and weaponized by governments and bad actors.

The same left leaning people who are so sympathetic to Hamas were calling for impoverishing, imprisoning, deporting, concentrating and even killing fly-over country Americans because some of them didn't want to wear a mask or be forced to take an experimental vaccine. In Canada, Australia and New Zealand, authorities actually did de-bank and arrest citizens who protested or refused to comply with extreme Covid measures and these same Hamas supporting folks cheered for it and called for even harsher treatment. They did it because they viewed those Americans as oppressors because they'd had the numbers and the political power to elect Trump. Why do you think they always call Trump an authoritarian and say he is trying to oppress his opponents. because the left base has been taught to react emotionally and violently to that idea.
The Hamas supporters are mostly college students who have been taught in schools for a long time that Israel vs. the Palestinians is the classic modern case of oppressor and oppressed while the rest of haven't been paying much attention to that situation at all until this recent attack. It's no surprise they have reacted the way they have.

It wasn't two weeks ago that Democrat Party members were not only giving a standing ovation for a Nazi, but spent the week following defending the Nazis and their applause. I sent an Email to Bari (I subscribe to the Free Press) asking whether she finally understands why so many of us bitterly cling to our guns. Hamas is every bit as eager to kill Americans for the “crime” of being American as they are to murder Jews for being Jewish. I don’t expect a response because I assume she’s overwhelmed right now, but I recall that several weeks ago she published a guest article by a Jew who has acquired a gun for self defense and knows many other Jews who’ve done likewise. He and they were ahead of the curve.

IMHO up to this point the Left has succeeded in two things. First, they’ve succeeded in convincing Jews that antisemitism is purely a right wing phenomenon (plus it’s corollary, that they have nothing to fear from their good friends on the Left). Second, that anti-Zionism is not at all the same as antisemitism. Both are lies. Yes, there are some crazy militia members who hate Jews, but an objective person might note that we don’t elect them to Congress. Are there any Republican Congresscritters who responded to the massacre by putting a Palestinian flag their offices?

Obambi kicked over $150B (yes, $150 billion) to the mad mullahs of Iran as part of the JCPOA (Iran nuke deal) and $1.7B of that was in untraceable cash piled onto pallets and flown to Tehran to be used, clearly, for direct and untraceable funding of Iran's client terrorist organizations in Gaza (Hamas), Lebanon (Hezbollah), Yemen (Houthi's) and Syria.

All bacause obambi/biden hate Israel and desperately want Iran to have nuke weapons and become the sole Middle East regional power and threatening Israel and the gulf sheikdoms.

And all that cash was BEFORE deals were cut between democratical/globalist insiders and Iran to the tune of $400B (yes, $400B) for development of Iranian oil and gas reserves (what is it now, 3rd largest oil reserves and 2nd largest gas reserves are in Iran?).

Thats alot of revenue and future terrorist support for the mad mullahs.

And Iran is perfectly situated to build pipelines to Europe and act as a pipeline aggregator from other producers as well.

Hey, you know what would really make those Iran/western globalist reserves/pipelines even more valuable?...

Democrat Party members didn't turn against Russia until they had to use them to blame them for Trump in 2016, and for covering up the fact that the democrat party members of congress and the White House were using Ukraine as a money-laundering shop to hide their theft of US taxpayer money in foreign aid packages. That is the turning point for the democrat party abandoning Russia- Putin was too honest for them.

For some inexplicable reason, both Obama and Biden have negotiated with Iran over their nuclear weapons program, giving Iran money directly and indirectly to slow down their weapons program (hint to lefties who supported Barry and Joe - no, it didn’t slow the Iranians down as Iran ignored their side of the “bargain”). That “inexplicable reason” became clear the other day when the U.S.’s main negotiator with Iran for Barry and Joe, Robert Malley, was fingered as an Iranian collaborator along with several associates of his who have had high level positions inside the State Department and the Pentagon.

Iran has used this money to fund and arm (with large amounts of expensive weapons) Hamas (who have no means of purchasing said weapons) and Hezbollah to allow them to keep the Israelis occupied for Iran. Iran has stated the end result of building nuclear weapons is to nuke Israel out of existence. Which means that Gaza, the West Bank, and southern Lebanon will end up being a nuclear wasteland and hordes of dead and maimed Palestinians in addition to the Israelis. But hey, the Palestinians believe that they will be martyrs for the “cause” and a guaranteed place in heavens with 72 virgins per martyr, so they’ve got that going for them…

You don't get upset when blacks get upset over almost anything.

You're hypocrites and insane, demanding everyone feel as you do, and it's just not gonna happen. The Middle East has been an explosive mess my entire life, and personally I'm sick of it. Both sides are filled with religious fanatics, whether they're Israelis walking around with machine guns and claiming they're living a good life, or people in the Gaza Strip, suffering with those assholes next-door, as they make sure the point east and pray as loudly as humanly fucking possible. Blast it over the loudspeaker so everybody can be sure that we know they're doing it. Wonderful.

If atheists were smart, we'd be the one leading a killer revolution.

Crack: "white people are going to pay in the future - and they deserve it."

Interesting comment in the context of Hamas' massacre of Jewish men women and children. Do you see this as a form of white people paying? BLM certainly does.

I like how I quoted Louis CK but you put the words in my mouth. You guys don't know how to argue fairly, do you?

Of course she does. She's brilliant - now. She was an idiot yesterday.

Bari calls it like she sees it. I don't agree with many of her liberal positions, but she's fair and a classical liberal who is open to reason.

I keep asking have any of you seen her on Joe Rogan? How can you say she's fair and is open to reason when it's obvious that is not how she operates?

Lots of versions of this sentiment going around: Not only did Joe Biden reverse a Trump decision to send $200 million in annual payments to the Hamas terrorist organization, Biden gave Iran $6 billion dollars...

I'll just make the point here that "the $6B" is a distraction, and even the Biden State Dept. doesn't mind rambling on about it, albeit dishonestly. (Look for yesterday's video of the greasy and gross spokesman Matt Miller getting as much mileage from the "not one cent" canard if you have the stomach for it.) I say distraction because the truth is Iran relies on these foreign reserves and when Trump left office there was only about the same amount (ironically) $6B left in Iran's foreign reserves used to pay for food and medicine because we had strong sanctions on the Islamic republic to prevent them selling oil on the open market. In that big First Day in Office that Joe had, removing those sanctions was one act he took. Presently, Iran has between $60B and $120B in their FRA thanks to Biden allowing them to sell oil to Russia and China.

So removing Iranian sanctions had far m ore to do with the recent $40M cash transfer from Tehran to Gaza than the shiny $6B everyone keeps talking about. My hunch is Big Media doesn't mind that distraction because fungibility is a tough concept for math-challenged people and it keeps the focus off all the other horrendous foreign policy moves Biden has made to strengthen Iran and weaken Israel.

Bari Weiss is wrong that this is just about some generalized Jew-hate. It's part of a big intersectional thing. Along with the "critical race theory" that is so prominent in the United States is "post-colonial theory". Most of the injustice in the world is caused by European colonizers. They are especially hateful. Israel is essentially the last European colony, settled and run by European Jews and supported by European nations starting with Britain's 1917 Balfour Declaration. It is the reason Palestinians are poor and angry.

Ironically, almost a majority of Israel's population is now made up of Jewish people whose families were longtime residents of the Middle East but who fled increasingly Islamified countries and who now are usually more hawkish (and more supportive of people like Netanyahu) than their European descended fellow citizens.

Every post is a primal scream demanding you look at him, answer to him, defer to him, praise him, recognize his genius and insight.

Such histrionic narcism is not often encountered.

Meanwhile, back in the non-Crack world, Hezbollah is attacking Israel from the North and supposedly Friday is Global Jihadist Day!

No doubt a big celebration is planned at Harvard-Hamas in Boston.

No, it's a demand that you think for a change before you start calling people savages, monsters, and animals. Once you cross that line, you're no longer human yourself.

To all of you who think Israel started in 1948, just stop it. It's denying reality. Do some homework. Or better yet, when the smoke clears, the bodies removed, and the sun comes out again- take a trip to Israel. Look all around you, all over the country, top to bottom you'll see signs, both larger than life and small as a coin, that Jews and the nation of Israel have been in that place for eons. There was never a 'Palestinian' nation or even that name on a map until the British put it on a map in 1920.
There is no 'Palestinian' culture, no separate Palestinian language, not even a currency (though they still find Israeli coins from the pre-Roman era under Jerusalem). Palestine was never a nation, it was a region. The very name of Palestine came from the Roman Emperor Hadrian. After the Romans ended the Kohkba Revolt (coming back after the Jews had beaten the Romans in the first round) and the Romans then destroyed the 2nd Temple (on which the Muslims later built their Al Aqsa Mosque on top of- desecrating the temple as they are wont to do), Hadrian wanted to wipe out the Jewish religion and all signs of it. He changed the name of the region from Judea to Syriac Palaestina. The root of the word Palaestina is Philistia and that goes back to the Philistines.

Israelis are where they have always been, where they were always supposed to be. Those Palestinians were a non-nation before Israel. They can try to be one now, but not with Hamas or Hezbollah at the helm. That way will be their end. Israel is not going anywhere. So get that out of your minds, everyone. They are a great people. A people who love life fully, celebrate it in the way they live. You have to go there to understand, to see it, feel it. They embrace life, as opposed to the Cult of Death trying to wipe them out.

Why else would you bring the "quote" into this thread?

gilbar writes (10:08am):

Really? Plenty of people firmly support Ukraine against Russia and Israel against Hamas, without seeing any contradiction. Prominent examples on the right include Saul Montes Bradley and Thomas Wictor, both now on Quod Verum after being banned from Twitter a few years ago. Less prominent examples include me. That makes gilbar's unnecessarily capitalized "EVERY" a bald-faced lie.

Many have noticed that Russia Today is openly celebrating the slaughter of Israelis, partly because they hate Jews (top propagandist Solovyov is showing some discomfort, being Jewish himself), partly because many Israelis left Russia to get away from people like them, and are therefore traitors to Russia who deserve to be slaughtered. The fact is that Russia, Iran, and Hamas are allied against Israel, Ukraine, and NATO. Reports that Hamas learned how to use drones against armored vehicles from Wagnerites are unconfirmed, but very plausible.
