"East Midlands Ambulance Service will allow staff to take a year of paid leave if they're suffering from 'male menopause.'"
"The condition, which isn't clinically recognised, is caused by a fall in testosterone levels, and can result in symptoms such as weight gain and depression.
In addition to paid leave, managers at the trust have also been asked to provide additional uniforms, portable fans and change shift patterns to assist male staff members.... Men's testosterone levels naturally fall by about 1% a year from around the age of 30 to 40.... Behaviours like excessive alcohol consumption, a poor diet and smoking are all known contributors, as are psychological conditions like stress, depression and anxiety. As the NHS website states, 'in many cases the symptoms are nothing to do with hormones.'..."

What about testosterone supplements instead of going on leave for a year?

My guess is that cutting alcohol, tobacco, and starting to exercise would cure 75% to 90% of the sufferers.

Captain Obvious concurs.
I mean, I skimmed the article and it implied but did not state that women get at least a year off due to menopause, which US women deal with in a number of ways that don't include taking a year off. How anything ever gets done in the UK, I'll never know.

Once upon a time, British men would've rather died than let their mates know they were low T. Even if it was with a wink-wink-nudge-nudge, the stink would've clung to them like an elevator fart.
