New York Rep. Jamaal Bowman pulls fire alarm in House office building but says it was an accident

"Rep. Jamaal Bowman pulled a fire alarm in the Cannon House Office Building on Saturday morning, shortly before the House was scheduled to vote on a government funding bill, which the New York Democrat said was an accident.

The incident was first revealed by House Administration Committee Chairman Bryan Steil, a Republican from Wisconsin.
"

Sounds like a high school prank during Finals Week.

Jamaal Bowman (D-Criminal) is one jolly prankster. Unfortunately, the DC criminal codes says six (6) months in the pokey for a false alarm. But then, but then .... he Dem so nothing.

Back in the '70s some rock bands teamed up with symphony orchestras to make highly overblown albums that nobody listens to today (I bet).

I always disliked the trend on principle. Now I'm listening to our very own Memphis Symphony Orchestra (not a bad outfit) performing the world premiere of Chris Brubeck's concerto for guitars and orchestra.

It's . . . eclectic.

Insurrection. Doesn't DC specify Capitol punishment?

I'm going to take the liberty of posting it here in its entirety. Let Fauci be a warning to the near perpetual flaw of hyping personalities over substance. Yes, that goes for my own dearest MAGA maniacs too. As Trump himself put it... [Only] Jesus Christ was more famous than me.

Upon further review. It looks like Google is not going to let me post that here.

I want to thank commentator Saint Croix for his partial transcript of of the interview between Donald Trump and Kristen Welker at 8:09 in the DeSantis thread. Buried inside that transcript is a childish swipe that Trump cannot resist taking a Governor DeSantis.

Let me ask Drago or any other Trump supporter -- when was the last time a Republican won the White House without winning Florida? I'm not saying that DeSantis will fail to support Trump in the 2024 General election, assuming (as seems more likely every day) that Trump wins the nomination. I don't imagine for a moment that he would work against Donald Trump, but if his support is tepid, and if his supporters, properly angered, sit on their hands, then Florida may be play. And that will not be good.

We've already seen a version of this scenario. When Kemp and DeSantis set out to loosen the COVID lockdown in their respective states, Trump was loud in his denunciations. Then, in December of 2020 he needed Kemp's active support and Kemp told him to pound sand. But Donald Trump has a hard time learning from his mistakes. I love the man's economic and domestic policies, but he has the political common sense of a newt.

YouTube: How Casinos Are Able to Predict Human Behavior

Or, What's the most scientifically researched subject in the world?

BTW, I've experienced the results of this research myself. As some of you may already know, by reading my comments, I'm a share-ride driver. About 6 months ago, while waiting for a ping signaling a new ride, I noticed what looked like a ride offer pop up on the screen with a $ telling me how much and how long the pickup will be, if i pick on the screen with my thumb. Well, I started doing that and lo and behold most of the time, a massage would follow telling me the ride had already been taken. Ok. After enough of that I realized it wasn't the safest thing to try to keep an eye on the phone while driving and looking for parking in ATL would also be tantamount to a waste of energy and recourses. Not to mention the irksome feeling darn people I'm making rich are toying with me.

So, I thought, what would happen if I just don't pick on the screen and let them feed me rides like they are supposed to. I'm getting rides like before, but I don't have enough information to make any substantial conclusions based on my experience alone. All's I know is the technology is just scratching the surface.

Trump would be in no danger of losing Florida regardless of whether or not DeSantis was enthusiastic or tepid in his support. Were Trump the nominee its even likely he would flip Miami-Dade.

If DeSantis is the nominee, I believe the general election map reverts to a 2008/2012-like result.

But as I've said before, I believe the combined GOPe/dems/deep state lawfare attacks will result at some point with Trump's removal from the race...with Trump's legal "vindication" coming at a time well past the election.

Former Wisconsin Supreme Court justice refuses to disclose names of others looking at impeachment

"MADISON, Wis. (AP) — One of three former Wisconsin Supreme Court justices asked to review possible impeachment of a current justice refused to tell a judge Friday who else was looking into that question.

Former Justice David Prosser called a lawsuit alleging violations of the state open meetings law “frivolous,” saying those looking into impeachment met once but are operating independently and not as a governmental body subject to the law.

Prosser and the attorney for Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos both refused to tell the judge during Friday’s hearing who else was tabbed by Vos to review impeachment. Vos is looking into possible impeachment of liberal Justice Janet Protasiewicz if she does not recuse herself from a pair of redistricting lawsuits.

The liberal watchdog group American Oversight sued Monday, alleging the group of justices was violating the state open meetings law by not letting the public attend its meetings. Prosser is the only former justice to say publicly that he is among the group.

“Three people had lunch together,” Prosser said. “We had lunch together because we didn’t know what we were really supposed to do. If other people are going to have input, it’s going to be their input, not my input. I think this is an absolutely frivolous case.”

When asked directly by the judge if he would name who the other two former justices were, Prosser said, “No.” Likewise, Vos attorney Matthew Fernholz said he would not disclose their names without first consulting with Vos. Vos has repeatedly declined to name who he asked, only saying he tabbed three former justices to look into impeachment.

None of the eight other living former justices, six of whom are conservatives, have said they are a part of the review. The most recently retired justice, conservative Patience Roggensack, hung up when contacted by The Associated Press to ask if she was on the panel.
"

More at the link. There's some yammering about whether or not the people who met constitute a "panel" and about the applicability of open meetings law, but all that remains to be seen.

This is the first year I suspected the home team course set up may be an advantage too difficult to overcome, like if you Belichick the stats it’s over before it begins. Either that or the US team went back to worrying about the chemistry in the ping pong room and how motivational the celebrity speakers are. You need to play the better golf to win…

@Drago, I think this is wrong, but I hope you are right about Trump rolling up Florida. I would support DeSantis over Trump except I do not see evidence of what his economic policies are going to be like. I see words to the effect that his (unstated) policies will result in [lots of good things]. But what are those policies going to be? “I won’t be Joe Biden” isn’t good enough for me. Biden has screwed up our economy about as badly as Carter back in the day, and as of now Donald Trump is the only person I feel I can trust to unscrew it.

Pulling the alarm triggers the AV only. You need heat to trigger the sprinkler head, or direct contact to break the vile that opens the sprinkler head valve.
