Pride, prejudice, and albinophobia... or the polyamorous love of lions, lionesses, and their unPlanned cubs in gay parade on the African savanna, and in transnational zoos, but probably not the Isle of Lesbos.
Ever since this "pride" stuff has been around, I've considered it befuddling. I thought "pride" was a sin. I'm not a believer, but consider the seven deadly sins to be a good list of attributes to avoid.
Pride, Greed, Wrath, Envy, Lust, Gluttony, and Sloth.
For believers, Pride is considered the original and worst of the seven deadly sins, and the most demonic. It has been labeled the father of all sins and has been deemed the devil's most essential trait.
Things I forgot and hoping to be whipped for: In June 1999, U.S. President Bill Clinton declared "the Anniversary of Stonewall Riots every June in America as Gay and Lesbian Pride Month". In 2011, President Barack Obama expanded the officially recognized Pride Month to include the whole of the LGBT community." Once again, Q+ marginalized.

Within the European-American-Christian tradition, pride is indeed a sin. The Gay Pride movement followed the NYC Stonewall riots were corrupt cops were manipulating and exploiting in-the-closet gay men. That generation of gay men aggressively "came out" in the 1970s as proud of who they were and started the SF and NYC "Gay Pride" parades.
So, we are seeing a battle of legacy morality versus a newly-minted vision of morality. Recent efforts for childhood sexualization and LGBTQ+++++++++++ is something that the pro-gay and openly-gay people of the 1970s-2000s would have strongly resisted. They wanted to overturn negative gay stereotypes...childhood sex topics were strongly resisted until gay marriage became legal.
Today's alt-sex community one-upped itself into something else entirely, and very possibly hoisted itself on its own petard. Before the last 10 years or so, there was almost zero support for childhood surgery, early sexualization via drag shows, etc. See NAMBLA of the 1990s. Children were allowed to be nonsexual and innocent until puberty.

Yes, well there is "gay" as was and "gay" as now is - which seems rather to mean "deeply conflicted and suffering low self-esteem."
Also "pride" as was (which, bordering on hubris, is not always a positive trait) and "pride" as now is - which is in-your-face aggressive, disruptive, demanding, and threatening.

Althouse is "White" so it must be "White Pride Month"?
Where's the pride of lions?
Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
Like the pride flag at the White House that violated American flag protocols?

I'm thinking that taking pride in an accomplishment is not necessarily a bad thing.
Being gay or black or trans is not an accomplishment.
He won't let anyone else win as nominee.

Arrogance? Conceitedness? Pomposity? Narcisism?
One month is clearly not enough.
The gays are starting to get buyers' regret over this taking over by 0.01% of the population.
I'm proud to be an Althouse poster.
To truncate;
