This empty nest reflects the ambivalence of a normal transitional period. Hope springs eternal that the neighborhood carnivore didn't take out the little fella.

Ukraine is working to rescue older people and sick people stranded in their homes by the flood from the blown-up Nova Kakhokva dam.

The Ukraine requests no discussion of its possible strategy at this point in the counter-offensive. The Russians should think Ukrainian forces might be anywhere doing anything. We are to picture this:

Wait...are we now doing birds' nests? That's cool: not just because they're kinda beautiful, but because I suspect many of us can contribute pics of birds' nests discovered in/near where we make our own nests.

In September 2021, [Judge Aileen] Cannon accepted an all-expenses paid trip – transportation, meals, and hotel – to the posh Sage Lodge Resort & Spa in Pray, MT. to attend a six-day “colloquium seminar” held by George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia School of Law (Law and Economics Center), according to an annual financial disclosure Cannon filed on May 16, 2022. (Cannon incorrectly listed the name as George Madison University.) No other annual or periodic transaction disclosure reports by Cannon are listed on the federal court’s new online disclosure database.

That was one month after the 11th Circuit slapped her down for her MAGA activity in Trump's attempt to delay the document case investigation. Now she is in Miami shamelessly presiding over Trump's trial despite the fact that Miami is not in her district. Watch for a fire alarm and activation of the water sprinkler system in the Ferguson Federal Courthouse.

The fucking sparrows building nests are such a pain. Three years running they built a nest behind the grill in front of the radiator of my F-150. Didn't seem to matter that the nest would drive away, sometimes for hours. The first year the got to the egg laying stage before I discovered it. Even though they lost their eggs and nest they were back the next two years. A pain to dig out. Now I'm in the garage so they have moved to the S-bend on the downspout.

Ever wonder why Trump didn't force his DOJ to go after Hillary for her security violations? It was a classy move on his part. Or maybe because Hillary and her ilk were in bed *cough* with most DOJ prosecutors. He won't make the same mistake next time.

Comments on significant delay?

I am still shocked to this day that we don't have ANY journalists that want the truth instead of swooning for this guy who has lied to us about who he is since the day he entered politics. IF this were anybody else, especially a white guy, his lies would have been exposed by now, but activists posing as journalists lie, call this a conspiracy, and hide the truth.

I was undaunted when my lawsuit to keep him off the Ohio presidential ballot in 2012 was dismissed, even though it is illegal to use a false Social Security number."

"It's hard to believe how many high-ranking government officials have been serving time behind bars these last couple decades. Bill Clinton got caught selling military secrets and influence to communist China in return for campaign contributions. Hillary Clinton got caught storing top-secret materials on an unsecured email server in a bathroom closet. Lois Lerner got caught using the IRS as a weapon for targeting conservatives and influencing the 2012 election. Attorney General Eric Holder was held in contempt of Congress for withholding subpoenaed documents concerning the Obama administration's transnational gunrunning racket. Barack Obama, Jim Comey, John Brennan, and James Clapper were all thrown in the clink for spying on a political opponent's campaign and then covering up their illegal activities by framing the victim as a covert Russian agent.

The saddest thing was watching Dementia Joe Biden stumble out of the White House in cuffs, as remaining federal agents finally arrested him for decades of corruption involving quid-pro-quo schemes that enriched his family by selling the powers of his various offices to the highest foreign bidders.

Oh, right — none of that happened, because the Deep State and those in bed with the Deep State protect their own. At this point, anybody not being attacked or politically persecuted should be presumed as secretly working for some shady enterprise hostile to the best interest of the United States.

Yet somehow special counsel Jack Smith has the temerity to stand before the American people, announce the federal government's continuing crusade to keep President Trump from office, and shamelessly declare, "We have one set of laws in this country.""

That nest is the exact opposite of the one I found in a light manufacturing district in North San Jose. It was made entirely of light blue polyethylene thread, pulled from a discarded tarpaulin. Six inches across, sturdy, weatherproof, rot-proof, soft (lined inside with down).

The ultimate Silicon Valley nest. ($1.2 million, as-is, tenants evicted)

It was empty and on the ground. I collected it and kept it on my desk.

1st woman trainer, Jena Antonucci makes history by having the horse ARCANGELO win the 3rd leg of the Triple crown races bring $900,000 for Blue Rose Farm owned by John Ebbert. It was a wonderful race beating out the world class barns of Baffert ,Assmusen ,Pletcher and the likes.
Jena, who is known for her special care for her horses and lets them show her when they are ready (unusual in the $$$ hungry owners world who sometimes push horses who are not ready for such punishing runs.)Jena writes "The answer is already within each horse, it's up to us to just listen "ARCANGELO has earned $1,067,400 with a record of 5 starts 3 wins 1 place 0 3rds.Yet another TAPIT bred out of ARROGATE-MODELING breed, TAPIT is the most winning sire of horses running in the trying first time 1 1/2 distance. Most importantly, all horses and humans returned safe after the event (unfortunately the last race at Belmont also had a horse break down) I had a small part of a triple bet but missed with my main pick of ANGEL OF EMPIRE WHO JUST COULDNT GET THERE. 0-2 ON win bets this Triple Crown season (skipped Preakness poor race with subpar entrants) I am off now until meet at Saratoga in New York in won't play July races there) Great job Jena and team a caring barn, owner , trainer and Jock. Props to Javier Castellano for such a masterful ride who had been 0-14 in this race previously. Was a great busy weekend for our family with graduation parties, Belmont Races , a short visit to the Casino and another joyous day of Life.

Is it normal for a President and his wife to own shell corporations which have millions in income, and that income is not specified?

https://twitter.com/WendellHusebo/status/1668281239923458055

What if the amount of unspecified income matches almost exactly the five million dollars that a whistleblower says was paid to Joe Biden to do something by an entity, Burisman, which asked his son for a particular favor, and the request is found on his son's laptop, and which Biden himself bragged about doing?

Oh no, not a problem, but a paperwork handling violation based on rules made up just for the purpose, is worth 100 yrs in prison for Joe Biden's opponent.

The gaslighting they get away with is amazing.

Maybe because nearly all of the benefits of blowing up that dam accrue to the Ukrainians, and the short term, and the extremely long-term pain accrues to the Russians. Not the least of which will be the loss of irrigation water, which will decimate agricultural production in the heavy majority ethnic-Russian speaking areas of 2013 era Ukraine.

The shit garbage we are asked to swallow because Kiev thinks it is the duty of Americans to support their side of a civil war.

Oh look, 'tim in vermont' is repeating lies that have already been rebutted. The fact is that Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts, which are heavily ethnic Ukrainian, not Russian, get the vast majority of the water provided by the four canals supplied by the now-drained reservoir. Crimea only got part of the water from one of the four. The blast will indeed hurt Ukrainians far more than Russians. (He also slyly pretends that Russian-speaking Ukrainians are the same as ethnic Russians. They are not, and even most of the ethnic Russians in Ukraine support Zelenskyy after seeing what their fellow-Russians in the Russian armed forces have done.)

And it is a simple fact that Ukraine could not have blown up the dam even if they had wanted to: it was far too solidly built to be destroyed by any bombs or missiles or shells Ukraine has. It could only be done by huge demolition charges placed by those in possession of the dam. If you say "What about Dam Busters?" note that HIMARS warheads are ~1,000 pounds, while the dam busters used specially designed spinning and skipping 9,000 pound bombs. Even then, they had to hit the dams at exactly the right place, where the water pressure would be most useful, and they only destroyed two of the four dams hit.

Why does 'tim in vermont' repeat his lies on every open thread? Is he paid to do so, or is it just pure love of lying?

I don't normally respond to individuals over issues that they are set and relatively closed minded about their thoughts so a debate is a dead end street but I thought it was hilarious that someone would reply to a post with IQ suggestions and then proclaim they are being outsmarted by squirrels. Is that possible? I could only recommend checking with someone's grandchildren to help said person check out YOUTUBE, GOOGLE etc. for help as they will have solutions. I can only presume It is mostly someone who is not very versed in the modern age (you know old or very young) Outsmarted by squirrels, that is hilarious in the year 2023 and yet they are offering IQ suggestions for others, I wouldn't sign up based on the evidence. Hilarious Margaret, ART LINKLETTER said it best PEOPLE ARE FUNNY. :)PLEASE DONT PLAY IN THE UTENSILS DRAWER.

For Meade... I like birds. Delightful to have around (except for the Great Blue Heron that amuses itself by strafing my ride about once a month - bumper-to-bumper racing stripe).

Truthfully, I'm conflicted about the bird/squirrel thing. My go-to karaoke number is Tom T. Hall's, "I Love". It requires no singing ability whatsoever and yet audiences seem charmed by my failure to meet even that standard. Verse 2 is my favorite...

I love leaves in the wind, pictures of my friends
Birds of the world, and squirrels
I love coffee in a cup, little fuzzy pups
Bourbon in a glass, and grass

And I love you too

"He also slyly pretends that Russian-speaking Ukrainians are the same as ethnic Russians."

Yeah, OK. All of these Russian-speaking Ukrainians are totally cool with their language being banned for all official uses and being forced to learn the language of their wannabe overlords after living in a region which has spoken Russian for centuries. Got it. You are just pretending that there was never any real opposition to the coup in 2014, and the fact that the Russians took Crimea without a fight, and the fact that the DPR and LPR managed to hold off Kiev for eight years, despite the fact that everybody in that region apparently supported Kiev, well, that's totally believable too.

In sum, if you pretend that the Russian speakers who fell under the new borders of Ukraine created by the collapse of the Soviet Union all support Kiev, then it's true that these Russian speaking Kiev enthusiasts, enthusiasts, presumably for deRussification of Ukraine, are hurt the most by the dam bombing.

Oh yeah, and the UK never gave Kiev submersible drones. And there don't exist any man portable tactical nukes, evidence of the use of which would have been diluted away by the massive floodwaters to background levels. To suggest that it was somehow "impossible" for Ukraine to blow up the dam is ridiculous. Not to mention that the dams under Ukrainian control have done all that they can to make the flooding worse.

Dr Weevil said...

Hahahahahaha! You have to be not just stupid, not just a bigoted liar, you have to be downright insane to think that any NATO country would provide Ukraine with any kind of nuclear bomb, 'tactical' or otherwise: they've been dithering for a year about providing 30-year-old (ATACMS) or 45-year-old technology (F-16s)! And the Ukrainians used surface drones to attack Sevastapol and the Ivan Khurs: if they had any submersible drones, they would have used them and had much great success.

All the rest is just more lies. The fact is that Ukraine recaptured most of the Donbas in just a few months in 2014, and the only thing that stopped them from taking the rest was 15,000 Russian troops with all the latest and best weapons, pretending to be 'volunteers' or 'advisors' or 'little green men' (look it up). The man who "took Crimea without a fight", Igor Girkin, quite clearly states that the local leaders did not want to secede, but he got them all in a room and "convinced" them - by bringing along a bunch of armed men to intimidate them into signing on.

Every other statement here is just as false, as usual with 'tim in vermont', who continues to pretend he doesn't know that he looks like a paid Putin shill, and offers no argument to contradict that assessment.
