If God's kind, 2 hours of babies being cuddle-smothered by puppies.

There would be much rejoicing.

I vote for "Machete Maidens Unleashed." It's on my Netflix DVD queue, but they're shutting it down in September and it's listed as 'very long wait.'

Keep on uploading pirated films like has been happening a lot of late.

Being a second class version of YouTube is an interesting business model.

Easy to skip over a video. Not so much if he ups the 240 character limit.
I am not scrolling that much. It's like channel flipping, but if it takes to long...

They will podcast on Twitter, to get away from Youtube's constant censoring of all that is non mainstream.

Tucker and a thousand would-be Tuckers.

"Being a second class version of YouTube is an interesting business model."

YouTube intimidates its users by putting strikes against them for confusing reasons and demonetizing and so forth. They have to self-censor or risk losing their income.

Bypass Youtube.

Especially if it ends up revolutionizing the industry and being an industry leader instead like SpaceX, Tesla and the Boring Company all did.

If this lets you watch content without the stupid YouTube adverts, that would be good.

It would have been a terrible idea in Twitter’s Taylor Lorenz age where with one email she could tell Twitter who to censor. Now that things are a bit more Democratic it is a very interesting business model indeed, especially if the left is forced to engage in the arena of ideas instead of getting their way on who to censor. The Althousian solution to free speech…

Dumb Lefty Mark: "Keep on uploading pirated films like has been happening a lot of late.

Althouse (to Dumb Lefty Mark): "YouTube intimidates its users by putting strikes against them for confusing reasons and demonetizing and so forth. They have to self-censor or risk losing their income."

Gahrie (to Dumb Lefty Mark): "Especially if it ends up revolutionizing the industry and being an industry leader instead like SpaceX, Tesla and the Boring Company all did."

Althouse nails the real reason for Dumb Lefty Mark's public wailing whilst Gahrie nails the likely outcome for X (formerly known as Twitter).

And remember, this incredible pace of iteration and improvement at X is being accomplished with 1000 employees...and not 7,500! And without the "help" of hundreds and hundreds of Dumb Lefty Mark's beloved govt censors directing which acciunts to ban.

Remember just last fall when Dumb Lefty Mark and readering and the Hopeless gadfly and LLR-democratical Chuck et al predicted the collapse of Twitter and Tesla?

Good times, good times.

If you get a chance, check out the Tesla Optimus robot line development (did you know Tesla is really about 5 or 6 tech companies rolled into one) to glimpse the robots that will be building the robots.

And check out the video of back to Spacex launch earlier today. Very cool. Its about 195 onsecutive successful Falcon launches.

Thanks for playing Dumb Lefty Mark.

Drago said...

Did anyone mention how much more content creators can make at X?

Mason G said...

"especially if the left is forced to engage in the arena of ideas..."

Okay- I laughed at that.

"Engage"? Heh. The only "forcing" the left is interested in is the kind where they jam their ideas down your throat and you have to sit there and take it.

Competing with Spotify and Youtube directly, and undercutting them on the twitter links.

I am sure Lefty Mark can tell us why this is an idiotic move by Musk.

And I didn't even bother reading the thread first!!!

Alison nails it!

This will be a phase 1 for Musk's Twitter. He'll do more. More features to come. And more people will come to use it. Competition is a good thing. He'll push the other platforms to keep up or perish. Watch what happens, not in the first few months or first year, but in the next couple of years. Social media is old already. Due for some new growth and change. It's dated and time-sucky. So much is about to change anyway. Even before we toss AI into the systems.

Mark said...

Drago, show me where I said Tesla would fail. I will wait.

Yancey Ward said...

Mark,

I think, if I wanted to, I could find a hundred quotes just from Althouse threads, where you disparage Musk's business management skills. Musk manages Twitter and you have repeatedly stated Musk is going to kill Twitter because he sucks as a manager. Musk also manages Tesla, ergo I don't think it much a stretch that you believe he will kill Tesla, too. However, I will take a quick look as some Tesla threads.

Yancey Ward said...

I found this thread pretty quickly- I think Drago has more than enough reason to believe you think Tesla will fail because Musk is managing it. Sure, you might not have ever flatly written it, I don't think a reasonable person would doubt your belief that it will.

Dumb Lefty Mark: "Drago, show me where I said Tesla would fail. I will wait."

Define "cracks will begin to show".

LOL

If you really want to know what upsets the lefties like Dumb Lefty Mark the most re: Musk takeover of Twitter ("X"), its about this kind of thing (from Ace of Spades HQ):

Paul D. Thacker@thackerpd
1. New internal internal #TwitterFiles help explain why privileged reporter hate @elonmusk and Twitter 2.0.

Musk denied access to Twitter's formerly "trusted reporters" and allowed inside entree to more independent journalists.

2. During my trip to Twitter's HQ in San Francisco, I uncovered several documents that explain why reporters now hate Twitter 2.0

Musk fired their friends and cut off their privileged access.

3. For years, Twitter provided favoured access to "disinformation" reporters, giving them access to new products and silencing accounts.

4. Musk ended this access and brought in new reporters to go through the company's documents--something no CEO has ever done before.

5. When Twitter rolled out Birdwatch to label "misinformation" they gave NBC News Ben Collins @oneunderscore__ a demo and exclusive access.

Collins was actually part of the feature's "product development."

6. Collins was really loved inside Twitter, even suggesting him to moderate one of their panels. When they met w/ reporters in NYC, he admitted that Twitter helped propel his professional profile and helped him get on NPR and TV.

7. Musk has now unveiled "community notes" which allows more users to comment than Birdwatch. This hasn't worked out for "fact checkers" like Glenn Kessler at The Washington Post. [See the Community Notes takedown of Glenn Kessler at https://ace.mu.nu/]

8. Reporters apparently also help Twitter by flipping them bills under consideration.

"Our DC-based tech reporters have gotten advance copies of at least five bills .... that would give more power to regulators."

9. Twitter dealt with bills to moderate them from suspending conservatives by ducking behind trade associations "to do the heavy lifting ... as engaging or commenting ... would give them more attention."

10. Twitter met w/ NYC reporters to "solidify key relationships, encourage intel sharing ... reinforce comm's network of trusted reporters."

(I was not invited)

11. One "trusted reporter" was Makena Kelly of Vox

"She'll be reporting out of a deep red state--will mis disinformation resonate?"

This implied Twitter & Makena knew the "disinformation" paradigm doesn't translate outside liberal talking circle.

12. Kelly showed no interest in Democratic Party "misinformation"

"Looking into 'Republican Party Hype House' on TikTok--tied to Turning Point USA?"

13. CNN glad hander Brian Stelter: "Willing to come to San Francisco, wherever to meet 1:1 with spokespeople even for introductory conversations."

CNN's Oliver Darcy: "Would love to hear pitches from us."

Drago said...

But there's more!! Much more!!

14. CNN also asked if Twitter could create a "read only mode" to protect their reporters from "harassment."

(How often to reporters ask a company they cover to modify company policies?)

15. CNN's Donie O'Sullivan: "Always interested in account enforcement such as Rep Marjorie Taylor Green."

Other Twitter Files show "disinformation" reporters obsessed with this Congresswoman.

16. Fox News producer for Dana Perino: "Is really eager to get us on the show .... Dana would be fair and not any more tough than the nicest person to question us in Congress." (I laughed when I first read this)

17. Fox News tech reporter Brook Singman: "I think we have a good opportunity to influence this coverage and potentially the reputations of congressional newcomers."

Read all the good stuff on the lefties beloved psycho Forever Teenager Psycho Taylor Lorenz there as well.

Did you know Taylor Lorenz, all by her little lonesome, could jump "into Twitter-verse" and simply get whatever accounts ticked her off banned from Twitter?

All of the above, and so much more, is why Dumb Lefty Mark and his Markettes are so very upset about the new comms world with a freer X. Freedom. It's like a wooden cross to the lefties vampiric censorious mentalities.

Mark said...

Yancey, thank you for noting that I never said that.

Once again Drago, where I did I speak to Tesla explicitly?

Yancey Ward said...

I don't know that you never wrote it, Mark, but I don't doubt you believe it based on that one thread. So, Drago is basically correct.

Drago said...

Lets start with Dumb Lefty Mark and readering retracting their anti-semitism smears against Musk due supposedly to Musk's justifiable criticism of Soros and see where that goes...in particular since the claims of "anti-semitic comments" were based on a hoax (what else would one expect from the lefties?) "report" from ISD that was funded by Soros himself.

And I have to say, Dumb Lefty Mark playing "dumb" about his and readerings nonstop dancing on the projected graves of both Twitter (X Corp) and Tesla is hilarious.

Next up we'll have Russia Collusion Inga claiming she never cared about russia collusion!

I notice Dumb Lefty Mark has yet to provide us with a definition of "cracks would begin to show".

There is a reason for that.

Mason G said...

Checking back in- has Twitter gone out of business yet? Just wondering...

“Once again Drago, where I did I speak to Tesla explicitly?”

Drago caught lying once again. He sure does do a good imitation of a Moscow Trained Propagandist.

Wasn’t trying to hijack the thread. Just noting my beliefs that Musk is trying to help Tucker (because he thinks Tucker can be good for Twitter), Tucker needs a good platform for his long-form interviews, and Tucker’s non-compete apparently permits him to post on Twitter. So, perhaps this isn’t really about Twitter competing with YouTube.
