He probably can't hear the difference between the initial "Y" and "L" sounds in Korean. If he heard someone with the family name "Lee" being called "Yi", then maybe he thinks the Americanized version of Yoon is Loon. This only makes sense as an excuse if he never reads anything relating to Korea that he is given and never listens to his people when they brief him. In other words, a very real possibility.

We know that Biden got 81 million votes; but we don't know that 81 million living American citizens voted for him.

Actually (extracting from the dark recesses of my mind, my fluency in Korean) there is no family name Lee in Korea. It is always I (pronunciation long E). To Americanize it, the Koreans add an L or sometimes an R such as Rhee. Same with Park. The R is an addition Koreans make in America. It is always Pak in Korea.

There is however a Yoon.

Trump voters have no standing to criticize someone who plans to vote for Biden. One man is cognitively unfit for the office and the other is morally and ethically unfit for the office.

The ironic thing is that the likelihood of Trump defeating Biden is very low so by supporting Trump in the primaries Trumpists are effectively enabling a Biden victory.

If the goal is to get rid of Biden the worst thing a Republican can do in the primary is vote for Trump.

What I find most annoying is not his frequent gaffes, mispronunciations, and malapropisms but how Biden, in his infrequent appearances in front of audiences, always mentions he spoke or met with so and so but never mentions what it was about or what was accomplished. It's like he believes the actual meeting or conversation is the point. He is shallow and vain and deserves to be mocked mercilessly.

How do they train the translators to handle a potential crisis when Biden says he's going to nuke Russia?

President Loon responds to Biden: "White supremacy is thy name".

My Hangul (Korean alphabet) lesson.

The Korean President’s name is 윤석열, Yoon Soek Yuol (my rendering).

The Y sound comes from the *double* stem lines in the first syllable (character) and the last. Note that the double stem lines don’t appear in the middle one. Without the double stem lines in the first syllable, it would be pronounced Oooon.

And, I will just point out for the 100th time- without Trump in 2016, we would be in year 7 of the Hillary Clinton Administration, with complete control of the Supreme Court. Without Trump, Hillary wins Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania; and probably Iowa, Florida, and Ohio. The fact that Trump won in 2016 still apparently sticks in the throat of the AMDGs and Chucks of the world.

AMDG: "If the goal is to get rid of Biden the worst thing a Republican can do in the primary is vote for Trump."

Some people believe the goal is to nominate a candidate that will represent the views of the bulk of the republican base (at a minimum) and fight for those views as hard as Trump did. In particular on economic nationalism, trade with a US First focus, attacking the deep state and immigration policy which will energize the base.

Of course, that's easier said than done.

Oh, and not to worry. The GOPe-ers are working hard right out in the open to RE-FEDERALIZE abortion AND make sure there are plenty of dem judges aporoved at a rapid pace AND to keep the cash pipeline to Ukraine at full volume AND to work with dems on a gun control package AND work on another amnesty package for millions of illegals AND an omnibus budget that bypassed the republican congress AND voice support for the weaponized deep state actors against conservatives!

What's not to love from a base voter perspective, eh?

And remember everyone, the RNC needs your cash so it can run ads against republicans in general elections in support of "independent" (wink wink) candidates.

Yep. We just have got to get rid of that darn Trump if we hope to "win on policy" (wink wink) and return to the calm, normal, happy political days of yore.

One thing you have to give to the Democrats is that they shamelessly play to win.

The likeliest p, and perhaps the only, path to victory is for Creepy Joe “Loaded Diaper” Biden to have a rematch with with Trump. So what do they do:

1. Make sure that the path for the nomination is clear for “Creepy Joe”.

2. Do all they can to ensure that the Republican candidate least likely to win gets the nomination. Do you think it is an accident that the enablers in the media have been spending time trying to take out DeSantis? It is a strategy that has worked in the past. See Herschel Walker, Blake Masters, and Doug Mastriano, and Oz.

I am going to laughing my ass off if we nominate DeSantis and he loses to 81 million+ votes for whatever skin-suit the Democrats put up.

I will just point it out again- show me which Republican other than Trump can win any of the following states: Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. A non-Trump candidate might reel Arizona and Georgia back to the red column, but that won't be enough to win the election, and such a candidate would have to fight hard to retain Iowa and Ohio.

One by one, since the 1984 election, the following states have gone from dependably Republican/winnable for a Republican to dependably Democratic (brackets, last time a non-Trump Republican won the state): Virginia (since 2004), Colorado (since 2004), Nevada (since 2004), New Hampshire (since 2004), Michigan (since 1988), Wisconsin (since 1984), Pennsylvania (since 1988). Which states have drifted into the reliably Republican column that time? None- not a single one.

LOL

Last time I checked, the dems were running completely corrupted lawfare attacks against Trump at multiple city, state and federal levels.

All the dems have done to DeSantis is toss a few insults his way. Gee, welcome to the club.

By your own stated metric, its Trump they have been, are, and continue to try to take out with the full power of state and federal agencies: thus its Trump they fear the most.

And its not even close. Not even in the same universe.

What would make you think I prefer Biden? Opposition to Trump does not equal support for Biden. In fact, support for Trump is equal to supporting Biden.

Trump has engineered three consecutive victories for Democrats. He is so polarizing that 55% of the electorate will not vote for him under any circumstances.

If Trump were secretly colluding with Democrats to throw the election to them he would do nothing different than what he is doing now.

At this stage the members of the Trump Colon Cowboy parade are nothing more than dupes for Creepy Joe “Loaded Diaper” Biden.

Because many of them are more motivated by revulsion of Trump than for support of Biden.

There is a message in all the polls that show Biden’s approval in the high 30’s but always show him ahead of Trump.

Trump is not unfit because of the policies he pursued, he is unfit because he is not a man worthy of the position.

When determining fitness for the office the first filter should be: will this candidate uphold his oath by defending the Constitutional. Trump’s behavior post election where he schemed for ways to invalidate the election and comments as last year stating that he should be reinstated to the office immediately indicate a disdain for the Constitution.

This makes the question “who do you love more, Trump or America?” An appropriate one that his rump swabs should ponder.

One waits in vain for AMDG to explain how it is DeSantis will deliver on the economic, trade, reshoring of American jobs, etc., policies when every single DeSantis funder and GOPe-type advisor despised every Trump policy in those areas and more.

Longtime Althouse readers will recognize this variation of The Question No Early DeSantis Supporter Has Ever Answered, despite it being asked just about every day.

One begins to suspect the early DeSantis supporters know the DeSantis funders will never allow Ron to support any such economic nationalism policies nor will they allow Ron to oppose the neocon/dem forever wars.

Recall Ron was a Paul Ryan clone while in Congress.

That makes it difficult for a republican base that has been utterly and contemptuously burned over and over by the GOPe types to trust Ron.
