"I have tried to be the most uncontroversial person this past year, and somehow it has made me controversial still."

"I think it comes back to the fact that these people, they don’t understand me, and anything that I do or say somehow gets taken out of context and is used against me. And it’s so sad because everything that I try to put out is positive, it’s trying to connect with others that maybe don’t understand me, it’s to make people laugh or to make a kid feel seen."

Said Dylan Mulvaney, quoted in WaPo article with the confusing title "Bud Light chief says he ‘never intended’ boycott over trans star Dylan Mulvaney" (WaPo)(who would think the Bud Light chief intended a boycott?).

Also quoted, Donald Trump Jr.:
Speaking Thursday on his own podcast, Donald Trump Jr. called for the end of the Anheuser-Busch boycott, saying he doesn’t support “destroying an American, an iconic, company for something like this.".... "The company itself doesn’t participate in the same leftist nonsense as the other big conglomerates.... Frankly, they don’t participate in the same woke garbage that other people in the beer industry actually do.”

WaPo inserts the info: "Belgium-based InBev purchased Anheuser-Busch in 2008." Funnily, enough, some of the things that seem iconically American are not even American. Maybe it's like a transgender woman overstressing femininity. The Belgian company, wanting to identify as American, strives to express Americanness.

But what is the true femininity, and what is the true Americanness? Is it nothing at all? Is it whatever those who care about making it something make it? Is it a natural, soulful emanation from the people who possess authenticity? Is it what those at your end of the political spectrum say it is?

That's easy. Whatever transvestites say it is. Just so long as a biological female is the one not defining it, whatever they say is female is female. That is the new rule.

Women have completely surrendered. Shocking I know. Biological females are in the passengers seat, and a bunch of angry bottoms are driving. Own it.

1. There is biological sex. Reproduce or die. Male fashion and female fashion doesn't matter. Some species such as peacocks are 'naturally fashionable' but they breed. You must breed as an animal species.

2. Femininity is behavior typical of a female of a species. It varies between species, and is only probabilistic. Females get pregnant, give birth, and nurse babies, and do this across all mammals. That's the genesis of default female caregiving roles and interactive modes across all human cultures. Females who care for young tend to reproduce more effectively than those who dump babies out for the wolves (and likely those who fixate on their social media presence).

3. "Authenticity" is a self-conscious social comparison reaction. It's related to ideology, religion, politics, and many things unrelated to the fundamentals of reproduction and the roots of masculinity versus femininity.

Breathe oxygen or you will die. Eat food or you will die. Make babies or your species will die. Dress and act however you want, and have surgeries and medications to resemble the opposite sex if you want, but breed or die. If you dedicate most of your energy to social reactions and dress-up you'll have less time for breeding and fewer babies and a lower probability of a sustainable existence.

Conform to biology or enjoy one last great party before the end. Philosophical radicals may continue to claim life is a tabula rasa but this false and easily disproven. Many eco-greens may consider non-reproduction as a noble death to save Planet Earth. Let them go out in a blaze of glory, but not destroy everyone else. Logan's Run.

Nobody is boycotting Dylan. I love Dylan. I'm praying for Dylan. He's a very, very sick man, who needs our help ... not to be trotted out to sell a beer he's never been seen drinking ever before in any of his thousands of videos. Because he doesn't drink Bud Light. They're just using him. They literally put him in a bathtub, as a female, and filmed that. That's wrong.

What Bud Light is doing is WRONG.

And for that, I won't purchase their beer any longer. That beer needs to no longer exist, so other corporations understand the price to be paid for doing these things.

The problem for Mulvaney is people DO understand him, and Bud Lite was the catalyst for the Perfect Storm. Tampax didn't raise the windspeed at all. Nike started a slight breeze and an occasional whitecap. But Bud Lite brought together the men who find him insulting, the women who are sick of being ridiculed by men in "womanface", and the people who object to a grown man sexualizing little girls. Mulvaney and Anheuser-Busch couldn't have found the right combination to capsize Mulvaney's boat if they had deliberately set out to do it. Anheuser-Busch is not going bankrupt over this, but Mulvaney may need a new act. He has made enough money to buy a new boat. He needs to do what real women do. Put his big girl panties on.

As for Mulvaney, miraculously, I am still able to completely forget about his existence except for those regrettable moments that somebody starts talking about him again. But his claim to not want to be controversial is laughable in its disingenuousness. His entire persona, his entire career is built on controversy. His rent is paid, his bed feathered, his bread buttered through skillful capitalization on controversy.

That's a sort of ironic quote, given that his only understanding of Bud Light's (or Nike's or whoever's) critics here seems to be the usual "they took me out of context" dodge. I think the reaction has been a bit overheated, but context isn't the problem here. The context -- both the specific context of the adverts/partnerships and the broader cultural context -- in which those companies used his image is what's created the backlash. I think he's also mistaking the target of most of the backlash. I'm sure, given the breadth of the backlash, that he's getting an avalanche of hatemail from people who didn't know he existed a month ago, but every internet personality gets that. I'm sure PewDiePie gets hatemail all the time, every day. People are mostly pissed off at the companies for promoting his image by associating it with their brands. I think only a minority actually want him kicked off Tiktok or demonetised -- in fact, although I haven't been following closely, I haven't heard of anyone pushing for that yet, although I'm sure such people exist (because they always do).

The left has been normalizing perversion and demonizing American values for a long, long time. Many people are sick of it, sick of having nonsense shoved down their throats and told they have to love it. They are especially dismayed that big business has signed on to the degradation.

It's not easy to resist. The Bud Light boycott is a small first step. Perhaps if it succeeds in bringing down the brand, other businesses will reconsider promoting perversion and anti-Americanism in their advertising. Perhaps it could be a tipping point.

I am hopeful, but not optimistic.

I also wonder what would happen if Progressives got their wish on this obvious wedge issue (because that's really what this is). What face cards would they have left to play? Plural marriage? Sibling marriage? Mandatory euthanasia at 70 (for the planet)? Doubtful.

But if women don't dare stand up for themselves, and do not wish to claim femininity as theirs, that's their prerogative.

@Joe Smith "Women don't stand a chance in this fight unless they toughen up."

Women have historically sought protection in large groups and by linking up with the strongest males around. This includes choosing tough guy/bad boy mates, living in the harems and concubines of rulers, the convents of nuns who marry Jesus, and cults where they may have sex with a charismatic male preacher.

Women often indeed happily sacrifice for their man and their children -- think of all transgendered people as their surrogate children. Research evidence says that biological women are wired to be caring and compassionate...and this can be easily exploited.

This whole kerfluffle brings up my theory that many big American or globalist companies with American brands are being run by executives, many foreign born, who don't understand American culture. Big marketing mistakes result, like "New Coke." The amusing part of this is that "Bud Light" is a crappy beer and is mostly drunk by a segment of the population least likely to tolerate this marketing mistake. Another example, not exactly like this one, was when Lowenbrau beer switched to a US brewer (Miller) and was no longer imported. The change in flavor was noticed immediately and the brand never recovered.

Define "Quality" or "Excellence". This getting into Persig-like ZEN territory. Feminine. Female. Those feminine qualities can't solely cultural since they existed before culture. Although I suspect culture came into existence because of the differences between feminine and masculine. So while men can imitate female qualities only women are females and possess real feminine qualities.

Another classic example of a product suicide.

In a critical miscalculation, famously known now as ‘The Schlitz Mistake,’ the company realized that while it couldn’t beat Anheuser-Busch (the brewer of Budweiser) on production, it could try to beat them on profits.

With this mission in mind, Schlitz abandoned its values and chose to cut corners on product quality to reduce costs. It did so quietly, hoping the customers wouldn’t notice the difference.

Since Bud Light is crappy beer anyway, they might survive but I doubt it.

RuPaul is perhaps the 2nd best dragster in the US (after John Force). I was wondering if he considered himself transgender and spent a couple minutes searching. (Not Googling)

He does not. Until a year or two ago, transgenders who had started transitioning were not permitted to compete on his long-running drag contest. When not on stage, RuPaul dresses and looks like a man. See his Wikipedia picture taken at an awards show, for example.

RuPaul is an actor who specializes in impersonating a woman. That seems very different than claiming to be a woman.

Dylan Mulvaney has a theatre arts degree and since 2017 has made his living as an actor. He is represented by CAA the top talent agents in Hollywood.

He may actually think he is female, I have no way of knowing. But the more I see of him and the more I think about it the more I think he is just another actor in drag.

This whole girlhood bit is just a gig. It seems to pay well, perhaps better than his regulare acting career does. But if he is not actually transgender, just playing a role, I salute him for a job well done.

Writing the previous comment gave me an idea how Bud Light could turn this whole thing around. Perhaps they should salute Mulvaney for his genius in creating a special role for himself.

Bud Lite used to have a series of ads called "Real men of genius" that were pretty catchy. Somewhat serious but light-hearted as well.

Mulvaney comes out on Twitter, TikTok etc and says "Well, my 365 days as a girl was really fun and thanks to all who played along pretending to take me seriously. But I'm not really a girl, I'm a guy."

Then, 2-3 days later while everyone is still scratching their heads, Bud Light comes out with a Real Men of Genius commercial saluting "So here's to you Mister tampon using, bra wearing little girl playing actor man. You don't just defy convention. You defy warning labels and common sense." Cue the Real Men of Genius theme music and cut to the Bud Light logo.

I think it might work to bring all the drinkers back in the fold.

Or maybe Mulvaney really is a whack job and really does think he is a teenage girl.

But if I had to bet a dollar, not more, I'd go with acting.

The really big mistake is thinking that New Coke was a mistake or a failure.

If you look at it as a replacement for classic or original Coke, perhaps so. Though they continued selling it for 17 years in a market where 60-70% of all new products fail in 1-3 years. So not too shabby. Not many of Coke's other brand extensions stayed on the market half that long.

But if you look at it as a clever gimmick to enhance Coca-Cola sales, it is one of the great marketing ploys of all time.

Nearly 40 years later we are still talking about it and getting the Coca-Cola brand into the discussion. Probably nobody has taken a marketing course where it was not discussed.

Nope. New Coke was no mistake.

Back in the late 90s I spent a week in one of the flagship breweries of one of the largest beer brands. Not Bud.

They had about 20 bottling and canning lines. Bottling lines ran 12-1500 bottles/minute. Canning lines ran about 2,000 cans/minute. They plant ran 24/7 shutting down one shift per week for deep cleaning and sanitation.

One of the things that amazed me was that they ran, in addition to their company brand in several variations, they ran about 70 other brands. Some of which they owned, most of which were under contract. One or two of which I had always thought of as imports. Several of which, like Sam Adams at the time, I thought of as small batch craft beers.

I did not get into the brewhouse but was told that they actually brewed 6 beers. A generic lite beer, a generic lager and a couple other types I don't recall. In a few cases, an additive was drizzled into the pipleline as the beer went to the filler for a bit of special taste. Otherwise Famous brand A Lite beer was the same beer as Famous Brand B lite beer. Famous brand A lager was the same beer as famous brand B lager.

You would all recognize most of the names.

We understand you perfectly: you are, at best, a delusional freak who belongs in a mental institution

And whoever at Bud Light approved or knew about you becoming a "Bud Light Influencer" was / were delusional freaks who also belong in mental institutions.

There is no such things as gender, there is only biological sex. Were you born with a penis? Then you are male. if you have a sex change operation we will, by curtesy, pretend that you are female.

But until you've chopped your wang off, you're male. And after you've had it chopped off, you're a fake female

But what is the true femininity

Well, when I was growing up, "true femininity" meant "born with a vagina", and beyond that, you could do what you wanted, wear what you wanted, like or dislike whatever you wanted, and that wouldn't decrease you femininity, or make you "not a real woman"

When I was growing up, it was only the bigots who said "if you dont' like to wear dresses, then you're not a real woman"

Now it's everyone who is "pro-trans" who says that if you not completely, totally, perfectly stereotypical "1950s woman" then you're "not a real woman"

You're a "trans man" or else you're "non-binary"

It's sad that the Left simply can never give up on their racism, sexism, and other bigotries and hatreds

Dylan Mulvney said, "And it’s so sad because everything that I try to put out is positive, it’s trying to connect with others that maybe don’t understand me..."

Nothing Dylan Mulvaney thinks, says, or does is worth the effort to understand.

And people wonder why Conservatives think the left is going too far?? THIS is disgusting.

"NEW: A middle school principal is facing discipline for an inappropriate, “sexualized” licking game between students and staff. The video will make you sick.

How are these adults in charge of kids?"

Mulvaney is a con, a phony. He will never go under a knife. He's raking $$$$$ putting a teenage girl minstrel show. I bet he makes real queers and Trannies shudder.
As for that swill they try to pass off as a beer, have never drank it, my use it to wash my hands if I had to.

'Also inexpensive beer.'

In my neck of the woods, Bud Light is $10.99 for a 6-pack in bottles.

There is no cheap beer anymore...

Bud lite could make amends by hiring a genuine 12 year old girl to sell their product.
That should end this brew-haha.
