"A Journalist Believes He Was Banned From [AI image generator] Midjourney After His AI Images Of Donald Trump Getting Arrested Went Viral."

Buzzfeed reports.
[Eliot Higgins, best known as the founder of open-source investigative journalism website Bellingcat]... told BuzzFeed News that he’s “been playing around with various prompts to see what's possible and how complex you can make it." He prompted Midjourney to capture what it would look like if Trump were swept up by police on the streets of New York outside of a building that looks eerily like Trump Tower, how his children would react, and what his life would be like in jail.

“They kind of formed a narrative and I thought it was really amusing,” said Higgins, who is based in the UK. “I put it out there. I didn't intend to do any clever criticism or anything like that. But then it kind of took on a life of its own.”

What about doing a series of Hillary convicted and in prison breaking rocks for the rest of her life, all the time being the tough lesbian boss of the cellblock who gets first shot at all the new inmates?

No?

Never thought of that one?

Huh...

Just another never-Trump asshole 'journalist.'

The pictures are plainly fake. I think it's wrong of the media (just the New York Post?) to call them deep fakes, which suggests a dastardly effort to mislead. The people fooled by them wanted to be fooled by them.

If someone could only figure a way to capture the energy of Trump hate, we could retire most fossil fuel.

Ok so some foreigner hates Trump and now claims he was banned for dissing him with his AI images. LOL. Yeah, I believe that. I wonder what ELSE this guy was doing with his AI image genearator, assuming his "Banning" occured at all.

Trump affords the opportunity to do things they thought they could not do before.

We need to clamp down on this type of speech, lest the deplorables are triggered by it and mount another insurrection… or something.

Must have been a slow news day. Didn't he have any real news stories to write or tweet about?

How to tell everyone they shouldn't trust anything or any picture ever posted on your 'investigative journalism' website.

These are quite humorous (saying that as someone who does not dislike Trump). Apparently, the person making them got banned from using Midjourney for doing this?

Rule 34: Let's not wait for prison sex AI videos. Just enjoy what we have now.

The really hilarious thing is this- had a journalist from the NYTimes done the exact same thing, no ban from the site. If Higgins had done this showing Trump kneeling on George Floyd's neck, no ban CNeither.

I see the meme going around today that Trump lied about getting arrested this week, as put out by Bragg himself. However, I first saw this story as a leak to the NYTimes and CNN, so I guess Trump was the source for the NYTimes and CNN?

Those are amusing images. The orange jumpsuit, hurrying to some AI facsimile of Mcdonald's to get some facsimile of hamburgers. Fake news indeed -- Trump hasn't had two feet off the ground at the same time since his teenage years.

I hope someone finds a way around the censorship and uses this thing to do some cool stuff with Muhammad.

To comment on the MacDonalds images, the only one that could pass for real is the lower right in the quad. The upper left looks fake. The other three don't look like Trump.

It is concerning that the AI has managed to make semi-passable fakes.

You know. There is a guy on trial right now being accused of election interference due to meme posting during the 2016 Presidential election. Can the same charges be filed against Eliot Higgins due to these fake videos? (Not that they WOULD of course, since his memes and fake video are AGAINST Trump).

If the (ahem) journalist had done this with Obama, they woulda strung him up on the nearest lamppost.

I'm no Never Trumper, but I did like the one where he's lifting weights in prison, with the fly button open on his jump suit.

I voted for Trump twice, and I will vote for him again, although reluctantly, if he is on the ballot in 2024. But these photos are really funny.

I see Trump has put out an AI photo of himself - or someone says he did. Is this OK to do?- if true? if you make an AI fake about yourself, is that a fake or is that Instagram? Should we go back to drawings?

Trump just shared a fake AI-created image of himself praying on Truth Social

Fantasy porn for Gadfly and Chuckie.

So what? The slander which is daily disgorged by The Paper of Record, the MSM and the President of the United States and his DOJ is far more fanciful, dishonest and damaging than photoshopped jokes.

Also--how would Trump be able to go to McDonalds if he was in prison?

He would build the biggest, most magnificant McDonalds ever created, many say, lots of people saying that anyway, right in the middle of the prison? The Taj Mahal of McDonalds.

Really terrific.

These were funny. For Christ's sake people need to stop being so fucking po-faced about everything. I'm a reluctant Trump fan. I'd like to see him crush his many enemies (and yes, they aren't adversaries or competitors. They are well and truly enemies) But this was good stuff, and not at all convincing as photos. "Deep fake" my ass. Twitter morons falling for it was the icing on the cake. If Trump could figure out how to use this program himself it might be very funny. Or very stupid... We deserve better, but we ain't going to get it.

Drago, your comments often leave me bored and annoyed (because I am sick of the half-wits you are responding to). This one was absolutely fantastic! Thanks my friend, I really enjoyed it. I wish you would ignore the morons and comment like this more. If wishes were fishes, we'd all eat our fill... Yeah, I know.

Ah. If we ignore the morons it gives the morons license to be moronic. There is a cumulative factor in moronic..............ness. The more you allow, the more you get.

The difficult life of serious journalists: one day you're shouting at the top of your lungs about the danger of disinformation (specifically when it comes from the Fox networks and sneaky rightwing social media users) and "deceptively edited" video then the next you're being punished for creating and publishing (without clear labeling) fake images of prominent people in the news.

It's just not fair, I tell you! The rules weren't supposed to apply to ME!!

Old and slow said...

I'm not so sure about that Rusty. Many morons seem to thrive on attention, but you could be right.
