I don't think I'm in the right demographic for Ye's music or V's writings.....I did read the WP article about her though. She was raped by her father as a young child. I can see how that would give one a pretty jaundiced view of the patriarchy and of sex. I would like to think that that kind of experience is pretty rare and that there is a sunnier side to fathers and sex than the one she has experienced.....Interesting that apparently her resentments toward men are channeled towards Republican men and not such flaming Dem horn dogs as Clinton, Ted Kennedy, Epstein, et al. She's repressing a lot of her anger towards Dem men. I bet her father was a liberal. She should go into therapy and try to work through that anger.

I've come to the conclusion that there is a mental health crisis in America.
At just about every Dem presidential campaign event in Iowa the candidate promised more health insurance coverage for mental health.
My law office is in a building with about 12 mental health therapists. A steady stream of patients each day.
At the Nebraska legislative hearings earlier this month, all sorts of mental illness was on display. Members of the trans cult can't accept the fact that they might be mentally ill and they sure as heck don't want any kids leaving the cult. "Trans lives matter."
How did we get here? How is it that about 6 eighth grade girls out of a class of about 200 in Omaha think they are trans?

So much of this crap is really a public display of neurosis and mental illness.
Possibly the largest mistake of the last century was normalizing all of this, and giving the victims of it any credence or voice in society. The mad have a place in the world, and it's not the public commons. It is, quite the contrary, the asylum and the quiet spaces where they can be as mad as they like without affecting anyone else.
I have had some slight experience with the not-quite-crazy-enough-to-institutionalize, and coming away from that sh*tshow was an education in and of itself. There's a definite drive, encouraged by society, for the crazy to claim victimization as justification and enabler. I was taken in by one of them, once upon a time, and it was something that's left me with a jaundiced eye when encountering any of her ilk, ever since.
There's something in the water of the times, the zeitgeist, which encourages this crap. We've been too tolerant and understanding for too long, and have allowed the fleas on the tail to wag the entire dog. Something that is literally killing the dog as we watch.

This crazy has been building for a while. I blame parents wanting to be friends rather than parents, plus their obsessive fantasies of perfect safety (—>overprotectiveness), plus medicalizing every childish neurosis, plus bureaucratic CYA “validating” (and monetizing) every childish neurosis, plus a cultural shift stigmatizing all males and valorizing (ugh) all females, all of which vastly empowers a very unstable and by definition inexperienced/immature cohort of young women who are, IMHO, more susceptible than boys to mass hysteria. We’ve been here before, see witch hunts.
Then add the media, who are always game to stir up and reinforce hysteria, preferably with physically freakish images and bathetic outpourings. Multiply THAT by social media —the poison pen from Hell— and expose teen girls (and susceptible boys) to the circus night and day for month after month. The crazy is inevitable.
The real question IMHO is not “How did we get here?” but “How do we get out?”

Eve Ensler is the main reason I terminated a quarter-century of regular and reasonably-generous gifts to Middlebury College [VT]. I was class of '71 and she '82. In the late '90s Midd featured her on its web-site as "characteristic and emblematic of everything Middlebury stands for and Vagina Monologues best represents the sort of success we are so proud to acknowledge from our graduates." [close paraphrase].
VM is a work which Camille Paglia, a left-libertarian feminist academic, described as "ravingly anti-male" and challenge people to switch 'penis' for 'vagina' every place it occurred. Even as Presidential Press Secretary during incredibly historic times, Ensler's classmate, Ari Fleischer, was never mentioned.
In my own case, as contrast, all I did was help force a major revision in our understanding of how the Canadian Rockies formed, analyse rocks from Apollo 12, and age-date what was then the oldest known rock in the world. After changing careers, I developped much of what is now the standard agronomy of sustainable and regenerative agriculture. That's not to brag -- hundreds of other Midd grads have quietly accomplished at least as much -- but only to highlight the contrast with the much-lauded Ensler who managed only to produce a single garbage work a generation ago. But it was the proper confirmation-bias garbage, which is what matters these days.
I suspect that those of us, Midd and otherwise, who have led quietly productive lives, including raising well-adjusted children, do not struggle with either the emotional chaos or need for attention which characterise Ensler and her work.
Whether the world does or doesn't, Eve Ensler or V is not "another" white woman -- she's already been there as a powerful voice for a long time.

The important thing is the female brain, not the vagina; not that having a vagina doesn't wire the brain through dragging you back to earth every month, as Paglia points out. Men escape to the stars through practice with trajectories.
But the brain is the problem.
She is not just another random older white woman - she is rather accomplished. I for one care what she has to say even if I may not agree with her.
