Madison has finally shown that it is a part of the Gulag Archipelago. Only political prisoners would be out there.

How do you know they identify as humans?

Do you or Meade eat a big hearty breakfast before going out into the cold dawn?

Maybe when you get back.

F J Biden spoke at Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church (the Reverend Warnock, PhD's) to commemorate MLK Jr and his life. I turned it off as soon as he got the mike working.
(Senators Byrd and Thurmond, who represented the D's when the D's represented the Klan openly, could not be reached for comment.)

First of all, I was up at 3:30 a.m., so I had plenty of time to eat breakfast and even to have a second breakfast and took my time before going out.

Second, my "hearty breakfast," today, and most days, was coffee with milk and toast with peanut butter. My second breakfast was a second cup of coffee with milk and a second piece of toast with peanut butter.

Other things eaten today: Orange juice, pomegranate juice, sirloin jerky (a Meade specialty), blue corn chips, and dark chocolate.

Ann, have you and/ or Meade walked out on the ice?

That picture looks cold enough to make me think, “Are those people waiting by a breathing hole for a big fat seal to surface under the very tip of their harpoons? No; no harpoons; they will go back to their igloo and have coffee with milk. And PB on toast.”

Ice fisherman at risk of starvation as ice becomes a thing of the past.

Oh, the humanity!

Meade, try your hand at salmon jerky. Delicious.

Somewhere it is la nina, somewhere it is el nino, but nowhere is it neutral.

Sure. We were out there this afternoon. I often go out on the ice to get sunrise photos and Meade has walked across the lake to Gov Nelson State Park and back. I prefer the trails though. I like the shelter of trees and the varied terrain but Meade likes the ice better. It is noticeably colder on the ice.

Who knew there were Hobbits living at Meadehouse?

I would be too afraid of falling through the ice to walk out there.

I asked ChatGPQ to write a poem about a storm at sea in the style of Coleridge, here it is:

The tempest roars, the waves do leap,
With fury wild, they lash and beat
Against the ship, with creaks and groans,
As if to break the timbers' bones.

The wind doth howl, the rain doth pour,
As sailors cling to mast and oar,
Their faces etched with fear and woe,
As ship is tossed to and fro.

But still the sailors hold their ground,
With courage fierce, they stand their round,
For though the storm may rage and roar,
They'll weather it, and reach the shore.

The last verse really gives it away as AI.

I tried asking it to write like Bob Dylan, but the result was terrible and sounded nothing like him.

You can drive SUVs out onto the ice. Until you can't, of course.

Perhaps a real obituary and an actual local news story would be helpful to help us get past this untraceable and unsubstantiated accusation.
