A Beatle had to support an artist before their label would take the artist on. George went spiritual with chanting, and also produced Billy Preston who was already collaborating with the Beatles. Did a family tree fro a friend who eventually turned out to be my 10th cousin 2X removed. She's a somewhat closer relation to my daughter in law who's my 10th 3X....

But anyway, her father never married her mother, but she's the one he lived with until death, Had children with her, his 3 wives, and at least two others at some point, DNA verified. And one of his wives after divorce married the brother of another of his wives, and had children with him.... So some of the children are both 1st cousins and half siblings. I have no connections to The Beatles, but I knew a lot of people who knew and worked with Elvis. He was by all accounts a very nice young man at heart, and even straight men said he was beautiful before success and Dr Nick spoiled him.

He was both too old and too redneck for my particular demo; my mother and her sisters didn't much care for him until The Beatles arrived, when he was a convenient foil against their stuff. I had an older cousin who liked the Beach Boys (a non-group to us), Chad and Jeremy and the like, but not Elvis very much.

I'm not really sure what it was about The Beach Boys. A SoCal surf and sun vibe that never resonated with me--or my eclectic friends, which is more surprising.

I understand and enjoy The Rolling Stones much more, without being knowledgeable or even much of a fan--I just recognize that some of their songs are classics for a reason.; 12/8/22, 9:33 PM

What I find interesting is at the very beginning of the covidicocy, I referred to masks as magical talismans. And still do. And here, in this thread, the New England Journal of Medicine refers to masks as- talismans. They omit the word "magical", but if it's a talisman, it is that by definition.... Sort of like a "faux diamond" you often see advertised. IOW- not a diamond, it's fake. Or someone referring to their belief that astrology is real because it is, after all, a "Pseudo-science". Or- fake science.

I have been fit tested for N-95 masks. And at the end of a few hours of cleaning soot from boilers, particles much larger then viruses, my face underneath the mask is black with soot and my snot is black. I perform nasal irrigation ASAP after cleaning boilers.; 12/8/22, 10:07 PM

The first flight took place on February 8, 1969 and Pan Am began flying them in January 1970. The plane has been around for a long time. I first flew on a 747 in 1973, as a graduate student flying to Europe for a summer of travel around Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands via a Eurail Pass. Ah, I was young, I was strong, I still had hair, and my future seemed limitless. A couple months later I would meet a raven-haired beauty whose dissertation subject was on chemical reactions of certain radioactive elements. The "irrelevant target[s]" the Ukrainian drones struck a few days ago were Tu-22 heavy bombers that could at other times be equipped with nuclear weapons, but have instead been firing non-nuclear missiles at civilian neighborhoods in Ukraine every night, killing hundreds over the last few months. Yes, that is a war crime, ethnic cleansing, and genocide. Russian TV news talks about trying to make the entire population of Ukraine die of hunger, thirst, cold, and disease, or go into exile in western Europe. Hitting those bases was a perfectly legitimate defensive action. The Russians had at most 40 Tu-22s and the Ukrainians just destroyed three or four of them. That will save civilian lives. In fact, it already has: in one of the pictures of the damaged planes, you can even see a missile attached to the wing that would have murdered civilians that very night if the drone hadn't destroyed the plane first.

'tim' continues to pretend that Zelenskyy intentionally murdered two Poles to bring NATO into the war, when it was obviously a tragic accident. Zelenskyy has never asked for foreign troops, partly because that might incline the Russians to use nukes, but mostly because the Ukrainians are perfectly capable of winning the war themselves, as long as they can get hold of adequate arms and ammunition. The only one who wants NATO in the war is Putin, who is already pretending he's fighting all of NATO: losing to NATO would be far less humiliating than losing to a country whose population is 28% of Russia's and its GNP only 12%, a country occupied by people the Russians like to think of as subhuman morons, but somehow all have washing machines and flush toilets.

Finally, the people running the country from Kyiv (note spelling) are not some shadowy "neonazis" but Volodymyr Zelenskyy, democratically elected by an overwhelming margin and enthusiastically supported by ~90% of Ukrainians, more united than ever in hatred of the murdering, raping, torturting, looting Russian invaders. And yes, they are winning, as anyone who bothers to watch the Russian talk shows (translated by @JuliaDavisNews) knows. And my point (made many times before) that the Russians do not deny their war crimes but brag about them, on social media and on TV talk shows. One shameful example:
When the mass grave at Izyum was found with 440 corpses in it, you claimed that it was just an old town cemetery and they were digging up grandma's bones and pretending they were fresh, and specifically mentioned headstones. The exhumations were filmed with the international press and other observers present and what you said was utterly false. There were no headstones, no church, no fence around the site, no paths between the graves for mourners to come visit, no coffins, and no bare skeletons. There were just corpses with the rotting flesh still on them, that had obviously been dead for weeks or months, not years, in shallow coffin-less graves all jumbled together between the trees in a forest near town. Most were civilians, many were children, and many showed signs of torture. There are hundreds of witnesses. And you lied about it.

Again, it's not Ukrainian accusations that prove it, it's solid evidence (e.g. fresh corpses) and Russian boasts. They gleefully distribute and comment on cell-phone videos of themselves castrating a live Ukrainian prisoner, hanging five civilians (the blood on their pants suggests they castrated them, too), of Wagnerites killing a returned prisoner with a sledge-hammer to the head (they're still passing around video of them doing the same to a Syrian in 2018), and on and on and on.

And what kind of hypocritical moron thinks not wanting to play Tchaikovsky while his native land is murdering your people is a terrible thing, but has no problem at all with the Russians stealing all the artworks and archaeological treasures in the museums they've captured? (Not to mention all the ambulances, police cars, city buses, and the animals from the zoo!) One is an unfortunate temporary prejudice, the other a massive war-crime and a part of the ethnic cleansing and genocide the Russians are performing, and they don't even try to conceal it. Like most Russians, you seem to approve of ethnic cleansing, genocide, and war crimes as long as they're applied to Ukrainians, and to disapprove of self-determination of independent democratically-ruled nations.
