I am still amazed and happy that Ron Johnson won in Wisconsin.
Wonder if it shows power of incumbency or was the Mandela fellow just a bit too far left for some swing voters?

I mentioned on the Beatles post that I liked the instrumental version of "Something" on the Super Deluxe Edition of Abbey Road. It's interesting to see the skeleton that the song is built upon. Here is another cool instrumental version, from KT Tunstall's Drastic Fantastic Ultimate Edition, of the first track on the album, "Little Favours":

Little Favours (Instrumental)

and here is the version with the lyrics:

Little Favours

Drastic Fantastic is probably my favorite KT Tunstall album.

Peru president impeached despite bid to dissolve Congress

"House speaker Jose Williams Zapata had called for Castillo's impeachment "due to moral incapacity" after the president tried to "dissolve Congress and impede its function in an unconstitutional manner."

The opposition-dominated Congress, which holds 80 seats, had needed 87 votes to pass the motion.

Castillo became the third president since 2018 to be sacked under the "moral incapacity" provision in the constitution.

My sliding compound miter saw is now fully assembled and on the stand. Looks like it could take a finger or arm off if not used carefully....

My body is all done with covid. No lingering aftereffects. Pretty much as expected. A few days of misery, then recovery, as with most viral infections. My wife had what should be her worst day today, with recovery starting tomorrow when she awakens. At least if she follows the same disease progression as me and my also recovered >30 year younger buddy, who's disease progression and mine mirroring exactly more evidence the vaccine that doesn't work really doesn't work.

Now as the future progresses- will I get it again and agains as all the vaccinated seem to be doing? Like my twuce vaxxed twiced infeected buddy? Or is it once and done for those of us with intact immune systems? In order for my immune system to fight it off using what it's just learned future attempts at unfection must be close enough to what IO had fpr the body to be successful in fighting it off. But with all the "vaccinated" running around creating new variants all the time, how fast is it changing? And how much? Enough so the vaccinated are getting it again and again. But their immune systems have been damaged by the vaccines- and those silly enough to get the bivalent booster now offered that offers, well, nothing in the way of protection.

One significant symptom change from the beginning of the covidiocy. I no longer hear about- people losing their complete sense of taste and smell with the newer variants. I messaged my primary care practitioner an FYI over the weekend that I had tested positve and did get a follow up call. Wan't asked about that. No one is talking about it any more. That was THE symptom at the beginning. Lose your taste and smell, even with no other symptoms- you had it. Period. Now, no one seems to having that symptom. What part of the virus disappeared to cause that symptom to disappear? It had to be connected to a specific part of the virus that is no longer there, elsewise it would still be a common and very telling system.

Workers at the New York Times are on 24 hour strike.

They are asking readers to not cross the picket line by not engaging in any of the New York Times platforms.

STAND WITH THE WORKERS AND DO NOT CROSS THE DIGITAL PICKET LINE. Get your news from other sources.

Hey, Amadeus, I was going to ask you for some input about my upcoming trip to Chicago in a few weeks, but I apparently lost your contact information in a hard drive crash earlier this year. If you can stand to deal with it, please reconnect. You may still have my message info. Otherwise, you can reach me by email at gmair@msn.com.

Two years from now the NYT may be allowed to say and NPR people allowed to know why Mandela's vote count was so close to that of Johnson who was so far ahead he won anyhow. Right now it's a thing leftys can't know and rightys can't say.

"In new emails we are learning that Hunter Biden’s company, Rosemont Seneca, invested around $500k in a company called Metabiota. That company then received a whopping $24 million dollar contract TWO MONTHS LATER from the Departement of Defense: It looks like Hunter and his Rosemont associates probably got a nice fat return on their half million dollar investment. Amazing how that works." https://therightscoop.com/this-cant-be-a-coincidence/

Huge Wave of Liberal Men are Getting Vasectomies to Protest Overturning Roe - According to the article, many of the soon-to-be-snipped ‘apparently never want to have children’.

Yes, you read that correctly – they never want to have children. Not a single man bun passed through the doors of the local Planned Parenthood, set aside his kombucha, and declared, ‘I’d like you to sterilize BOFA because I never want to have fetuses’.

Liberal men now know where babies come from! Thank you, Dobbs decision!

So the Germans have faked their own J6 now. Looks like they also want to introduce a set of draconian limitations on public assembly and free speech and institute new spying laws, just like the Democrats did with J6. They must really be worried about resistance to their part in the war, and this was probably Joe Biden's advice.

What better way to crack down on authentic protests over policy than an imaginary coup? You would think that after the Reichstag Fire, the Germans would be a little more circumspect about this kind of tactic, but the US is in charge in Europe, that has never been more clear.

Britney Griner broke a law in Russia, and now she is released in a prisoner swap...meanwhile, Grandma's taking selfies in the Capitol after being ushered in by the Capitol police are still in the DC gulag going on 3 years. It is great to be a Progressive in a Banana Republic, isn't it??

Man, this is just cold: the statement of attorney Steven Bertolino for the family of Brian Laundrie, given when he knew Gabby Petito was dead:

It is our understanding that a search has been organized for Miss Petito in or near Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. On behalf of the Laundrie family it is our hope that the search for Miss Petito is successful and that Miss Petito is reunited with her family.

Notice that Bertolino never expresses hope that Gabby Pertito is still alive.

Putin just announced that Russia won't be the first to employ nuclear weapons (ISW, Dec. 7). I'm sure that won't stop all the Russophiles here from continuing to hysterically assert that every Ukrainian defensive strike on Russian forces is about to trigger an all-out strategic thermonuclear-weapons exchange holocaust – between the entire Western world and Russia. They – his fans – even they apparently don't believe Putin when he declares ”We're not crazy!”

CFP time. The favorite has to be the TCU Horned Frogs. They are the underdogs. But I fear the UGA over-dogs will win it again.

As for those two big and slow teams from the Mid-west, they will again be stunned by the team speed of a small Texas college and by Kirby Smart’s NFL class big team.

You know that this is all happening because of Biden, right?
Biden and the left have been working diligently to put the US in the crosshairs of Russia's nukes. Admittedly. Given the absolute fiasco that is the war in Ukraine not as worrisome as it could be. But China has a reputation of better competence.

LOL, Kiev struck Russian strategic bombers. Kiev is crazy. If they keep up this kind of shit, Putin is going to be deposed, and the gloves will come off.

Aren't you the same guy who posted that thread purporting to demonstrate that Ukraine was not behind that missile attack on Poland because Poland has a single 1977 era, never upgraded, radar pointed at the Ukraine, and thus certainly missed his supposed flight of the missile from Russia to Poland. And that Poland lied, and everybody was lying but Kiev? Isn't that what you passed off as "insightful analysis"?

Ukraine can strike at Russia all they want. We shouldn't be part of it. Their civil war is not out business. Russia is no threat to the US, or even to Europe, except as a nuclear superpower. This is about Ukrainian hyper-nationalists trying to ethnically cleanse the borders of the fake country they made up at the fall of the Soviet Union, and to bootstrap an ethnically pure real country, Slobodan Milošević style. It it weren't for Joe Biden's corruption, we would not be involved. It's a strategic blunder for the US to stake its military prestige on a band of neonazis when there is little to gain for us, and a great deal to lose.

Obama was following a plan, and when Trump won, a bunch of East European and Russian emigre crazies wrestled control of our foreign policy from the president, and cravenly corrupt Joe Biden was installed in the presidency, and here we are, in a fucking mess.

The more crazy shit like this that happens, the sooner the West is going to lose patients with those nut-jobs in Kiev.

""Jan. 6," seen in its true light, was — or should have been — a modern-day Lexington and Concord. Think about it. Ashli Babbitt, an unarmed civilian (and veteran), was shot dead by a jittery government officer for no defensible reason whatsoever while protesting governmental authorities' casual, sneering, and ubiquitous dismissal of the concerns of those they are supposed to represent and protect.
The difference between then and now is that the Founders — and the early "deplorables" they represented — had the courage to stand up for what they believed no matter what, going so far as to pledge "their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor" to achieve justice and freedom.
By contrast, most of today's Republicans, as evidenced by the likes of Mitch McConnell, Mitt Romney, Adam Kinzinger — and a vast array of other RINOs and invertebrates — prefer pre-emptively surrendering, even when the odds favor them, to engaging in pitched political battle with their ideological foes. https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2022/12/if_its_1776_which_of_our_two_parties_is_the_british.html
