It was 70F at Walden Pond yesterday. The water was 61. Got to swim all around the pond with a beautiful mermaid. Then we hiked all through the woods to the Fairhaven Bay overlook on the Sudbury River. The white clouds against an ultramarine sky as the bright sun glinted off the water. A lone canoe made it look rather Adirondackish. Lunch in Concord sitting outside basking in the glow of our physical exertion content in our good company.
Leaned to swim there, back in the day before it was consecrated and just a pond. Had a pier, a beach, and lots of swimmers. Roland Robbins, who was a house painter at that time and the man who located the remains of Thoreau's cabin, lived three houses down from us. Don't know if I should forgive him for ruining the place.
"Right before my eyes, the uniparty emerged like some swamp monster. I’d made fun of all those tin-foil hat conspiracy theorists for years, and now I was wearing the hat myself. But I’d seen it with my own eyes. I didn’t have the luxury of pretending that Trump lost." "It wasn’t the Democrats who stole the election in 2020. It was the politicians. The Democrats couldn’t have gotten away with it without the Republicans handing it to them and looking the other way."

Spent the weekend in the woods looking for Bambi. Nothing came within range, but it's still fun sitting there watching the sun come up and listening to the woods come awake.
"Barack Obama: “I tell you what, it helps in Ohio that we got Democrats in charge of the machines. But look, I come from Chicago so I want to be honest. It’s not as if it’s just Republicans who have monkeyed around with elections in the past, sometimes Democrats have too. Whenever people are in power they have this tendency to try to, you know, tilt things in their direction.”
Law Professor William Jacobson over at Legal Insurrection has an excellent analysis of what should come next after last week's midterm elections. I highly recommend it.
Hobbs defeats the last major MAGA. election result denying, non-experienced person Lake and sweep the top slate if the Attorney Generals race goes down (most likely) as Arizona continues to reject the big lie and Trumpism. The lady from the basement does her thing just like sleepy Joe, amazing. Lake is being told she needs to concede and don't do the trump thing, the others even Mastriano (election result deniers) all conceded that's Democracy. Time to get back to business The people have spoken, let's get some stuff done. Warnock wins in 3 weeks up next, Repubs slink in for the House but will be a useless group getting nothing done but fake investigations going nowhere and wasting time. may elect someone for Speaker outside of Congress way it's going. Soon we'll see the MAGA FRAUD CLAIMS guaranteed. If I don't win must be rigged!

I feel like I just re-lived the whole ‘92 season with that Bills game today.

That was one helluva game, Tim!
Enjoyed a couple hours alone out in the Big Woods yesterday, following a topo map. At least temporary relief from the metropole blues.
Classic democrat grifter video. Hall of Fame material.

Weather was not that great, so no walks in the woods.
But a nice 8 point buck in the tress that I could see from the den window.
