Come What May is a good, old fashioned picture about the May 1940 retreat in France.

I also watched The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley, the documentary about Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos (The Sam Bankman-Fried documentary hasn't been made yet). Yes, she has a bizarrely deep voice. Yes, her closet was filed with identical black outfits. Yes, she always wore a heck of a lot of make-up until she went on trial and did without cosmetics. No, it's not true that she never blinked, but yes, she definitely had "crazy eyes." Plenty of application to what's going on now with FTX

Waukesha County Judge Jennifer Dorow. Wow. AM 1130, the Mark Belling show, which is high end, like the Althouse blog, broadcast the sentencing live last night. Like 3 hrs. It was amazing.

Dorow, paid homage to all the victims and named every one as she handed down like 1200 years without parole. She went through the amount of time for EVERY NAME!! It started with the life without parole sentences for the deceased victims [8 I believe], and then the additional 17.5 years for all of the people he hit...58 or 60. EVERY NAME.

There was applause after the eight life sentences, and then Dorow asked for no more reaction as she sentenced Dorow like and additional 700 years for all the people he hit and injured and crippled...some for life.

Dorow even said...I know much of this is symbolic...but it has to be done".

"For this victim 17.5 years, for this victim 17.5 years"... I'm sorry I can't type them all freely. But she read them. And I listened to them all.

And her voice cracked when she told the 12-year-old brother [Tucker] of deceased 8-year-old Jackson Sparks...(paraphrasing in quotes), "I understand Tucker blames himself for his brother's death...(her voice cracked)...It is NOT YOUR FAULT. It is Mr. Brooks' fault".

Two things she said/did that were interesting. The talk of WI Supreme Court wishes now abound for her.

"1) "You [Brooks] used your car as a battering ram. Same as you would use a gun".

2) She gave him time for incidents with the abused girlfriend that Milwaukee should have dealt with...to protect the poor girlfriend...and to prevent Waukesha. (he tried running her over with the same SUV a week or two earlier than the parade, and Milwaukee let his ass go).

Now MKE is trying to catch up. He went to a Milwaukee Court House today for the girlfriend shit. Judge Dorow already took care of it, and publicly recognized their failings. That's MKEs fault. What is MKE doing? Putting their 2 cents in now??? A year too late...

I'd vote for her. I hear she's a feminist too...good for Judge Borow.

Yes, but the democratical/GOPe-er alliance isn't going to like it one bit.

Big Mike said...

@Jersey Fled, why yes we can add the Mar=a=Largo document raid to the long list of hoaxes perpetuated by the Democrats and their Deep State allies against Mr. Trump. Not that it matters. There will be another one come along soon enough. And in the meantime, if the raid caused some Republicans to stay home on November 8th, or caused some Independents to vote Democrat instead of Republican, well, all the better in their eyes.

Another doomsday prediction from the UN: Glaciers in Glacier National Park and Yosemite are destined to disappear in 2050. But, how can that be? They already disappeared in 2020! Oops! They're still here.

Maybe this prediction will be better! Nope. Still GIGO: Garbage In, Garbage Out. The UN climate models aren't worth a bucket of warm p*ss. CO2 does not change the climate, the Sun's influence on the stratosphere's ozone generation and it's influence on the jet stream are the causes of climate change.

H, give it time, you will notice. Things don't fail the instant people walk out the door.

Bombshells like indictments for Trump University fraud, using Donald J Trump Foundation charity funds for political purposes, laundering money through his casinos/real estate endeavors, and currently, criminal tax fraud practiced by the Trump organization approved by TFG?

As for his theft of classified documents, try this case outline on for size.

Until we as humans accept the fact that repeated trauma of any kind can and does cause complex PTSD and other serious mental illnesses, we are lost as humans. Read Dostoyevsky's "The Idiot" and explain how the human condition has changed since then...despite all our advances in medicine. Bottom line: People are the same the world over, only the complexity of society changes and there are always cultural differences.

YOU CANNOT LEGISLATE GOOD BEHAVIOR, CIVIC RESPONSIBILITY OR MORALITY, YOU CAN ONLY EDUCATE THE POPULACE INTO BETTER BEHAVIOR ON THE WHOLE.

Our political leaders today are as corrupt as during the reign of Romulus Augustus, the last Roman Emperor while Rome was burning. Leaders are supposed to set a good example, but they are too busy partying like its 1999, while our country burns and people and families are destroyed.

History really does repeat itself, but you only truly see the depth of it you have read most of the body of historical classical literature...hard to find someone these days who has, other than me in my tiny world. Too bad our public school system stopped teaching the classics...now the kids get gay porn and transitioned at school behind their parents backs and it's called "progress".

Humanity is doomed without introspection and mutual respect, and political leaders that actually do their jobs instead of robbing the middle class to pay for the poor while the wealthy eat cake and pay little. Tolstoy, Chekhov & Dovstoyeski had a lot to say about society, politics and the human condition in the 1880s which is still relevant today.

They’ve pretended it works for 2.5 years now, in defiance of all available evidence — how can they ever stop?

I was pulled over tonight while riding my bike after dark. I was informed that I had inadequate after-dark safety lights. No ticket, the Naples officer ran my driver's license, and then kindly told me I could use my cell phone flashlight as a front light as a temporary remedy.

I was not irritated at all that my police force has nothing better to do than pull an old man over on a bike without a light. We're almost in full season here, and this is how broken window policing works in one of the safest towns in America.

If James Comer(R-KY) and "Gym" Jordan(R-OH) really cared about foreign influence peddling, they would have noticed that, since leaving the White House, the Trump family has entered into more than $3.6 billion of deals with Saudi Arabia ($2 billion to Jared Kushner's Affinity Investments, a $1.6 billion real estate development in Oman announced the day before Trump’s re-election bid and the LIV golf deal of a still-undisclosed value to TFG.

Javanka gets paid $25 million/year plus commissions thanks to the killer Saudi prince.

So now we know approximately what the real value of the Mar-a-Lago classified documents turns out to be.

I saw a link earlier tonight I was going to post when I got home- but forgot where I saw it.

So, anyway, had a medical appointment yesterday, well two days ago but I'm still up. Seeing an NP at the practiv=ce instead of my actual doctor. First NP I've neen to around here that acts as she's my partner in healthcare and not my boss. Convinced me a few visits ago I should dounble my lisinoprol dose afte asking why the doctor and I had discontinued my also taking hydrochlorthorazide. With the two together I would get up at night and bounce off the hallway walls because I cluldn't keep my balance- sign of low blood pressure. i've never had chronic high blood pressure- I've had 4 episodes where my blood pressure shot up high enough that I needed an ER vists and they would have diagnosed stroke- except I had no stroke symptoms... but for the abnormall, y high blood pressure. Two of them while I was taking medication... So since May giving platelets my BP has been, from newest , to oldest, 128/80, 132/70, 122/60, 130/78, 140/84, 124/62, 102/70, 120/78, 118/78. Markedly consistent, isn't it? Before I started taking BP medicines it was almost always the textbook 120/80. But the good news was- I'm no longer pre-diabetic. My A1C level was down to 5.6. Unlike a previous NP who said she wasn't going to remnew my metformin prescription because I had never had a lab test indicating I was pre-diabeti- as she handed me the test results she had ordered with an A1C level indicating pre-diabetes (why I found another practice) this one said I should continue taking it since it's obviously helping and continue doing whatever it is I'm doing. I just have to figure out exactly what that is...

The subject of the VAX came up while discussing something else. She didn't try to talk me into getting it. Especially after I told her of my 10 coworkers who had it, all younger then me by a decade or more, all had contracted the dreaded covid- after their first shot. And the one who has really bought into the vaccine nonsense and is fully boosted, had it a second time just before the bivalent shot came out. 2 of the 10 had heart problems, one an actual heart attack, a week after shot #1. And me? I haven't managed to contract it yet. Nasal irrigation with xylitol. Daily. Well, that and a Vitamin D level of 50 ng/ml. And other anti-covid supplements. I do habe ivermectin at home purchased from alldaychemist should my better half or I manage to come down with the dreaded covid.

So for Thanksgivinf for the first time in 42 years, we're going somewhere else. My daughter is making turkey breast, we're bringing a duck. She's 15 minutes away. Next closest child is 3 hours away, and one is in Poland. Maybe Biden will make a surprise visit to the troops like other presidents have done and serve dinner to the troops.... just like he did last year... Oh, wait, he didn't.

Get ready to be called RACISTS over and over and over again...because here she comes....

"One of the biggest obstacles to the Left’s never-ending quest to portray America as a nation beset by “systemic racism” has been the presidency of Barack Hussein Obama. What other country has elected a member of a minority that once faced daily discrimination to the highest office in the land? But former First Lady Michelle Obama has come up with an imaginative new way to perpetuate the Leftist myth: she’s claiming that she didn’t wear her hair in braids while she was living in the White House because the American people, those stupid, hate-filled racists who twice gave their votes to her husband, just weren’t “ready” for the spectacle of her natural hair. Apparently, Mrs. Obama is laboring under the impression that the American people thought she was Swedish."

Taking one for the team, I followed the link.

It follows the template used by "50 former Intelligence officers" to add heft to the 'walls are closing in' crowd.

Gadfly never got the memo that Trumps problems, supposedly have nothing to do with classified documents, but that's all the left will talk about. And the fact the mid terms are over. Even WAPO wrote a piece explaining much ado about nothing.

Memo co-author and Brookings Institution senior fellow Norman L. Eisen asserted that "if anyone else had handled even a single highly classified document in this way, they would be subject to investigation and likely prosecution."

"Donald Trump mishandled a huge volume of them," Eisen added. "No wonder that prosecutors seem to be closing in."

Interesting, the claim to scour all the past cases that would apply, to support their conclusion. Ignoring, none of them were Presidents.

Ryan Goodman, a former Pentagon special counsel, current New York University law professor, and co-author of the new memo, said the team's "exhaustive analysis of all prior prosecutions brought under the same criminal statute that most directly applies to Trump shows how difficult it will be for the Justice Department to decline to issue an indictment here."

Of course the Mar A Lago raid fizzled. It was a political stunt from the start.

The fact that neither this latest outrageous misuse of the law enforcement power of the executive has not resulted in those responsible, or those responsible for the "Russian collusion" hoax before them, being prosecuted or at the very least driven out of power, is a national disgrace.

What happened in the Mar A Lago raid, aside from it being a gross abuse of law enforcement power, is that one of those cherished "norms" that our elites are always wringing their hands over was trampled in the dust and stomped on.

And yet it is Trump, the victim of the outrage, who is the bad guy in all this.

And "Conservatives" take solace in the knowledge that it is legal nonsense and nothing will come of it. While the perpetrators skate.

By the way, Gadfly--what, exactly, is the huge national security threat that supposedly justified the raid? One would think that by now all of those legal beagles who put their name and "prestige" out there in support of the FBI and the Justice Department engaging in over-the-top law enforcement abuse against a political opponent would be able to come up with at least some speculative surmise as to what it is all about. Right?

I agree that Jared should never be allowed near the White House again.

But notice that gadfly was never bothered by James Biden's 2 billion dollar deal to rebuild the housing in Iraq that his brother voted to bomb. Despite the fact that he had no experience in the field, or the 2 billion dollars that the ChiComs provided to Hunter's startup investment fund.

"We have 747s loaded with cash lined up waiting to invest in Joe Biden." - James Biden, per Politico EU

None of this bothers gadfly.

Jaq said...

If Biden has engaged the services of political smear artist David Brock to defend Joe's corrupt practices, it will be by attempting to expose the corrupt practices of the investigators. It will be a blackmail operation, since Joe is convinced that "everybody does it, he just got caught because his son is a crackhead." Which might be true, but I doubt that Brock is above lying anymore than the people behind the hit job on Kavanaugh were above lying.
