The bond market was broken by the Federal Reserve monopolizing the trading and moving bonds in one direction only. Long bonds got so scarce a couple times that life insurers worried they couldn't acquire the assets needed to match their book of liabilities.

The bond market now is coming back to life.

But prices for bonds have been going down after the Fed stopped goosing them ever higher.

And prices for stocks have been going down as the realization that the Fed Put, protecting all speculators, may have been moved to a back shelf for the foreseeable future.

Painful, but aren't these results signs of life and health, not a sign anything is "broken"? There is no one-way market. That illusion is the only thing that is broken. And it had to be, sooner or later, despite the Fed and its experts.; 10/22/22, 8:47 AM
